For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Went to boot sale then had to do purgeful tidying. Dd1 bought old coins, ds1 a remote control roaring dinosaur with glowing eyes, ds2 a Buzz Lightyear and a tentacley Dr Who talking mask thing. Dalek sec? I'm probably wrong.
And dd2 a fluffy, fuchsia coloured cat-shaperd bag with purse.
Dp bought several Tintin videos. Like we don't already have too many videos for the shelf
I bought trousers for dd2. Sensible.

I am glad to see 100x was on good Anne form this morning, I thought she would know what to do.

Can we have a new thread please?

Guadalupe · 29/06/2008 12:21

has anyone seen my hairbrush?

My friend ties hers up near the front door, I think that is a splendid idea.

well done at the boot fair, Toot. I haven't been to one for ages but I am trying to declutter so I ought to avoid them.

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 12:23

Try the kitchen.

Yes, decluttering - that seems to be my life's work. It's a pity I'm not very good at it.

Guadalupe · 29/06/2008 12:27

no, was in the grain buckey by the fire obviously

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 12:32

If things were always in sensible places it would be so boring.

Boco · 29/06/2008 12:45

Am supposed to be going to round 2 of the party now - the hog roast. I do have to go back to bully purple Ron into giving me the info he promised, but am wanting to drink coffee and lie on my bed for a while longer.

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 12:57

Then you can be fashionably late

Guadalupe · 29/06/2008 13:34

Boco - these might be interesting here and this book sounds quite good. The library might have it. Then you could at least impress on the teacher the serious nature of it and some possible solutions.

filthymindedvixen · 29/06/2008 13:46

Boco, please meet him again - and tell him I am the answer to his prayers...

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 13:48

Good stuff MrsC. MrsLupe. Would maybe have been useful to us a year ago

It was a bit awful at sports day - there was no girl in year 6 in dd1's house - felt indignant that she wasn't there. Also, as oldest in the year, she would have been cvaptain. She'd been looking forward to that for years

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 13:50

Yes yes, it's time our young Filth was apprenticed
She's start by sweeping the pencil rubbings from the floor, then after 7 years she'll be in demand all over London town.

filthymindedvixen · 29/06/2008 13:57

Lully and Boco - look at this!!!

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 13:58

OI! I linked to that further down. Find yer own news story

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 13:59

I did nick it from somebody else's thread though

filthymindedvixen · 29/06/2008 14:01

sorry toots, I didn't notice
I was telling DH about Boco and Lully's birthday traumas this morning and then he saw the news story!

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 14:04

s'okay

Shall we sneak in a new thread while nobody's here? We could choose the title! [sneaky emoticon]

Guadalupe · 29/06/2008 14:06

what about a very plain one this week, no pun?

Guadalupe · 29/06/2008 14:07

like, 'in here we are eating delicious fruit but you can't come in'

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 14:07

No pun?

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 14:08

Actually, that is tempting....

filthymindedvixen · 29/06/2008 14:08

How about:

The Consumption Of a Wide Variety of Fruits and Vegetables is Deemed to be Most Beneficial for one's Health and Wellbeing.

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 14:12

...when taken with a Modicum of Exercise

Guadalupe · 29/06/2008 14:13

that is a bit of a mouthful though

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 14:19

10 fruit and veg is a mouthful. Or have you not been doing this properly?

I am beset with longwinded dinosaurs. Whatever we do, can it be quick? Please?

TooTicky · 29/06/2008 14:41

Oh, and if we were going to be punny, I have just found myself singing, "I am One in Ten, Cucumber on a List".....
