For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lionheart ds is producing reams of drawings from that fab fish book you sent. Do you remember? He just found it again at the back of a drawer and has been drawing octopi and marlins and all sorts

Oh, yes, KT Bush is a great way to start.

"When, when I am a man
I will be an astronaut
and find Peter Pan."

Wails on ...

I remember the book, Franny. You will soon feel like you are living in a reef.

Good F&V day because I cooked a roast ...

lionheart · 27/06/2008 20:58

And have I missed anything momentous?

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 21:00

The Vegetable Song
Sung to: "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"

Carrots, Peas, and Broccoli,
Vegetables are good for me.
For my snack and in my lunch,
Veggie sticks are great to munch.
Carrots, Peas, and Broccoli,
Vegetables are good for me.

I didn't google vegetable song at all. Nonono.

it's catchy, isn't it?
and I think it conveys our ethos with the necessary gravitas

Lentils, Kumquats, figs and leeks
Keeps you regular for weeks
And the cunting mango too
will assist digestion too
Lentils kumquats, figs and leeks
Eating them will part your cheeks.

I am merely eulogising the Joy Of Fibre...

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 21:30

lionheart · 27/06/2008 21:36

Is FMV leading you astray again, Franny?

Try to be strong, try to resist.

oh you have been having such jolly fun round the campfire

but Lully I am aghast and I want to invite your ds for fifty playdates
if only the mother or even someone else had said something kind, even if that is the straw that just makes one burst into tears. I hope it doesn't stay with him Lully.
and Boco that mother sounds off the wall. you do think, you do your best with your children re self esteem, combined with kindness and respect for others, and it can be smashed to smithereens by a thoughtless or unkind adult.

Hello everyone else. It's like Piccadilly Circus tonight. But still no zips.

Have eaten a delicous lot of Thai vegetables. There must have been about 15 in there and I suppose it was about four portions. plus nectarine, banana x2 , grapes and cherries. About 7.

My eldest is back from his school trip and the Thai was in his honour. He is very calm. Perhaps he should go to boarding school, it seems to do him good to be away from me, but the thought is unbearable really. But i'm going to go downstairs in a minute and hear it suggested I BET.

to all and a ticker tape parade for the girl band

stuffitllama · 27/06/2008 21:42

Loopy the hospital appt sounds pretty grisly. Are you feeling ok again yet.
