For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

NO idea, I'm afraid. It's a long time since I grew things in England. I can't remember what grows or when.

TooTicky · 27/06/2008 20:02

The Berolinas have been and gone. They are completely delightful

Will read thread latere.

Swedes, you could plant swedes.... also some beans, peas are okay, maybe pumpkin/squash, cucumber maybe?

UnderRated · 27/06/2008 20:08

I knew the Beros would be lovely.

What is it called when you say something that you don't really mean eg. someone just said I was paranoid. So I said, Paranoid? Oh, good.

But obviously, I didn't mean it is good.

Boco · 27/06/2008 20:15

Oh Swedes I'm glad you've become a vegger, you've been making me laugh a lot today. Especially about Johnny Boden.

Tell us about the Berolinians Toot, with details and revelations please.

Swedes · 27/06/2008 20:22

Boco - I grew up in Suffolk.

Boco · 27/06/2008 20:24

Did you? Where abouts?

Swedes · 27/06/2008 20:27

Not far from Southwold - where are you?

Boco · 27/06/2008 20:28

I'm in Eye, near Norfolk.
I've lived in Debenham, and went to school in Framlingham for a while.

womblingalong · 27/06/2008 20:32

Hello Veggers,

I am afraid my F&V intake, or indeed food intake has been v poor over the last few days, have tonsillitis, and it has been difficult to swallow, and have felt decidedly dodgy stomach wise since Monday.

Oh Lully, poor DS, that is appalling behaviour from another adult FGS. I hope you will raise it with the nursery.

MrsC hope all is recovering properly now.

UR, the pie sounded delish, sorry it went to waste.

Swedes · 27/06/2008 20:32

Franny - Oh Yes please.

UnderRated · 27/06/2008 20:33

I was thinking sardonic. Must remember that any form of sarcasm doesn't come accross well in email. Much less with an American.

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 20:33
