For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Would you have said anything there & then tho to the Mother/teacher?
I was so miserable for ds & so astounded that I just wanted to get ds the hell out of there.

Nursery has been fabulous for the whole 9 months ds has been going & far exceeded my expectations in every way,it's a v special place. This was the very first time anything has happened that I have had issue with

UnderRated · 27/06/2008 19:24

Sorry hospital were less than sensitive, Lupe. Will it be ok now they have treated it?

Lully, that's awful. I would be kicking up a fuss.

LOL @ OB's dream

I am having a Bad day. There was a farking PIE incident

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 19:26

Lully I might have but I don't think it would have been the right time as far as ds was concerned
I think you did right to just get him out of there
however I would be writing a letter / making apptment with manager for Monday

OsmosisBanana · 27/06/2008 19:27

PIE????

Sounds bad even though I don't know what it means.

Pissing In Eggcups?

Probable Inexperienced Elephants?

Pretentious Igloo Exporers?

Help me!

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 19:28

if everything has been fabulous they were probably caught on the hop this time
she may have said "oh i have party bags for the children" and you would assume she meant ALL of them
I would hope if they are aware of this they will be thinking what best to do now anyway
but definitely ask them to act on it - it's unacceptable

LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 19:29

Sorry,hadn't caught up with thread

Oh MrsC so sorry you had such a horrible time
bloody rotten lot

Hi Twig
I know ,I totally agree..I'm sure it was meant, but am unsure why
I havn't seen the Mother since, her nanny has been collecting her ds this week. It's really bothering me tho so I think you are right a letter is probably the way to go.

OsmosisBanana · 27/06/2008 19:31

Oh shiz - sorry UR, DH went away with the pute and I forgot about the pie recipe.

Boco · 27/06/2008 19:31

Lully the first time this happened with the birthday table I spoke to the mother straight away. She was very embarrassed and added dd. The second time I went straight to the headteacher who actually phoned the mother and asked her why dd was the only child left out.

Guadalupe · 27/06/2008 19:31

really, OB? You seem fairly well versed in the colour and texture of genitalia for cosmetic reasons, why be offended at the discussion of said parts for life saving surgery?

pinkspottywellies · 27/06/2008 19:34

Oh! just realised who loopy is! Hospital were spectacularly insensitive MrsC.

Horrified at the other mother Lully I would like to think I would have said something (passive-aggressive like 'gosh, did you miscount/leave one behind? never mind he can have it on Monday!') but I probably would have done the same as you in reality.

And Boco, your poor dd Oh why is it all so difficult for them?

Franny - not long now!!

UnderRated · 27/06/2008 19:35

Yes, letter to management, Lully. Should definitely be clear to everybody that there is an all or no-one rule.

And YES, the blardy rhubarb and strawberry pie

I made it - orangey pastry, creamy filling, homegrown rhubarb, fresh strawberries from the PYO place, rhubarb glaze. Twas lovely. I was so proud. Then the WHOLE FARKING pie fell out of the fridge on to the floor

LullyOfShallot · 27/06/2008 19:38

Oooooooooooooh nooooooooooo UR

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 19:40

Have you got anything nice you can be doing tonight to take the (metaphorical) nasty taste away, Loopy? Video / good food / luxurious bath or similar? You have really been through it - you need TLC with knobs on

I got up at 6:30 this morning to finish it

Oh well. No-one hurt, pie dish in one piece and I salvaged a small bit to share with DS earlier. My friend seemed to think it slightly amusing but said lots of nice things about the other food that I had managed to prepare without incident

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 19:41

I got Pink in a Franny sandwich

UR that is a Bad Day indeed

OP posts:
UnderRated · 27/06/2008 19:41

Yes, Lupe. Can you do something nice and indulgent?

UnderRated · 27/06/2008 19:43

And the lid to my potent ointment rolled under the fridge and I can't get it back.

And we couldn't have a picnic in the allotment because people were 'helping' and took over the table. And my poor 38 week pg friend had walked miles with her 3 yr old just to come and eat rhubarb pie in our allotment.

Grrr

Ok, I've finished ranting now.

Sorry

OsmosisBanana · 27/06/2008 19:43

I wasn't offended MrsC, was trying to poke fun at myself for exactly your reference..

Sorry if it was a bit random and insensitive and I hope your appt was as ok as it could be.

I had a massive fight with my MIL about writing inflammatory remarks without the use of emoticons and have just done the same thing myself.

skulks off again, having hoped that whole debacle was over.

Changing the subject - Kung-Fu Panda is quite a nice movie, if anyone is thinking about seeing it. I saw it last weekend at the drive-in movie place.

Swedes · 27/06/2008 19:51

I'm so pleased with myself on my first day in your hallowed company . I managed ten portions (banana, apple, strawberries, pineapple juice, tomatoes, rocket, roasted garlic bulb (flesh from), red pepper, tomatoes, mixed lettuce leaves). And I did an hour's overly vigorous gardening and drive/path maintenance. The neighbours must think I'm hosting the Friday night chuck in your keys peri peri chicken get-together.

UnderRated · 27/06/2008 19:54

Well done, Swedes

Swedes · 27/06/2008 19:55

I am ashamed of my empty greenhouse. Is it too late for any planting? Can I redeem myself in any way?
