For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello OB

berolina · 12/06/2008 16:03

I can't help finding your parcel pile-up 8and the idea of the postie hiding round the corner) amusing, Franny - and am a bit of all the parcels. I sadly think the dresses won't work with your height and that (lovely) shape of bump - although they would certainly be wearable, practically. Try them on and feel free to disagree, anyway, when you get them.

my feet hurt. Or more precisely the ridiculous bony bump on the side of my right foot. I have wide chunky shoes for winter, but my lighter ones for summer are only just wide enough really, and when I'm on my feet for ages it gets too much and rubs. I am going to have to spend the summer in mary jane crocs.

Hello Bero
Sorry your feet are painful
Have you seen these?

TooTicky · 12/06/2008 16:09

Do any of you wear Thai fisherman pants (trousers)? I have some and they are too bizarre for me and looking for a new home.

OsmosisBanana · 12/06/2008 16:12

what on eath are mary jane crocs? I thought there was just one type?

SD has just been bought some, she is doing that 9 yr old thing of feet looking far too long for body so they really make her feet look like pasties. Not good.

She keeps asking me if I like them...

OsmosisBanana · 12/06/2008 16:12

are they male or female trousers? What colour?

berolina · 12/06/2008 17:10

Ooh TooT, they look lovely!

Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 17:15

lol at stuffit, does it actually blow up like a balloon?

I have had a tin of mackeral and a pear, not very good really. Dinner will be spinach and goats cheese tart with loads of asparagus. Again. I eat this about three times a week.

Toot - did you get them from Thailand? I have a black pair of those somewhere but they don't fit me any more. They were quite useful for slouching about it.

TooTicky · 12/06/2008 18:06

Guadalupe, how can they not fit?????
I am not good with things that tie, they make me feel precarious.
I bought them on ebay when I was heavily pg and desperate but they are most unflattering on a pg tum.
They are unflattering now because I have a silly wobbly tum that protrudes more than I would like it to

I have roasted some potatoes with paprika and things and am partway through making a pear and chocolate tart but dd2 has wrestled me to a chair so food is postponed.

Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 18:13

well, they don't fit because when I bought them I was a skinny young thing and now I am a little larger, the ties won't meet up.

The kitchen is full of smoke. Ds2 keeps turning the knob on the oven and despite their pizza being salvagable, plumes of it have billowed everywhere. My eyes are sore.

TooTicky · 12/06/2008 18:16

Yours must be a different design. These couldn't not fit anybody.

Oven knobs are a real blindspot in this overly safety-conscious world.

Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 18:18

well, they came in different sizes as well as every shade under the sun. I assume I am no longer small.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2008 19:41

good afternoon
I had some of those pants but they often used to waft apart at the leg bit and show my entire leg right up to the thigh, plus I never felt 100% sure the whole thing wouldn't come undone and leave me in my pants in the High St, basically

erm I don't know what all this stuff is waiting for me at depot. Sounds like Bero's is one. I buy a lot of things on eBay but can only think of one thing outstanding
I will report back if a trip to the post office is ever made
I think we are just out a lot, walking about 1 mile an hour means you spend a long time out of the house if you go anywhere I don't really think the postie hides until I go out. Probably.

Dp is stuck on a dodgy very slow train. There was a derailment. That sounds awful doesn't it, I hope it was not as bad as it sounds.

fullmoonfiend · 12/06/2008 19:41

what coilour are they TooT? I think they look nice, but am worried about trying them up peoperly...

OOOhhhh! Oh!!! We have bought a Bongo!

exactly like this one

can't tell you how excited I am!

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2008 19:42

FmF that is fab news

fullmoonfiend · 12/06/2008 19:45

well our jeep is due mot next month and was alsmot guaranteed to fail/need expensive repairs plus was costing stupid amounts of petrol....

So they agreed to part ex it and by selling the children rounding up every spare penny we have we can affford one. We pick it up next week

UnderRated · 12/06/2008 19:55

Bongo looks very cool

I removed all oven knobs for fear of small children cooking themselves whilst another one distracted me.

Much as I don't want to, I have to take DS out to get a Father's Day card/ gift. Not sure why I am bothering because I got nothing for mother's day or birthday but I keep telling myself that it is the right thing to do. For DS's sake. He might remember that I was the one who did nice things for him & his Dad

talilac · 12/06/2008 20:04

Sorry OB re the weird 10/10 cycle syncing. I blame, well me actually for TMI in the first place.

Gawd but I feel sick. No actual reason, unless the coleslaw I had for lunch which was a day past the use by date was in fact off. I guess I probably shouldn't have risked it, but it was either that or the Expensive Organic Chicken Goujons that I was saving for DD1's dinner, and she is my PFB and I will not nick her dinner (well not until after shes refused it anyway).

Serves me right anyway for not making my own coleslaw which is very easy and far more delicious than the bought stuff and doesn't make you nauseous.

Anyway, was doing rubbish on the f/v count before the coleslaw incident, was counting on said slaw to bring my numbers up a bit but it was a tad counter productive. So no counting today. And no exercise either. I am a desk potato, its official.

Guadalupe, much sympathy on the kitchen smoke. DD1 does the oven knob thing as well, its so very annoying. She destroyed a fabulous patch of biscuits the other day. I agree a gadget needs to be invented.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2008 20:09

UR I am doing silent gnashing of teeth for you
I can see why you feel you should do it

talila hope you feel better soon. I'm just about to eat home made coleslaw [virtuous]

fullmoonfiend · 12/06/2008 20:44

sadly UR,, you are doing the right thing...

Ok, we now have 1 piece of unethical plastic tat toy boat, lovingly chosen by DS. It cost a grand total of $1. Which is about $1 more than ex deserves but DS is thrilled and told everybody in the shop that it is a "special boat for my Daddy". So, I know I did the right thing. I'll continue to fume silently on the inside. Thank you for listening to me whining on.

Feeling a bit blue today. Should eat bananas.
