For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh joy
have been told not needed at school this afternoon so have an unexpected free hour and a half

whoo hoo!

stuffedaubergine · 09/06/2008 13:02

"free" in the sense of "free to clean the windows"

vive la liberation des femmes

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 13:45

lol
I used to have a day off workj -which i invariably used to spend catching up on housework. Now my house is a disorgnaised cess-pool.

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 14:44

small salad with black-eyed beans
not a portion but am just mentioning it in passing

parents here

TooTicky · 09/06/2008 17:09

Goodness, it is quiet here today.

It is hot and my head hurts.

I had a sandwich with beansprouts in but I think they were a bit old.

I have bought some non-organic fruit. We were really desperate. Am SO determined to garden more effectively next year.

I ordered more seeds today

Franny, may I be utterly pathetic? If you would really be happy to do it, and I fully understand if you'd rather just lie down and be fanned with lettuces, I would so love some playdough from Franny's Playdough Emporium but I would absolutely pay ingredients and postage costs. And something for your time.
(I'm worried it may stick to the pan or burn or just not be as beautiful as yours)

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 17:56

TooT ingredients will be zero pennies (although I do make with all organic ingredients so perhaps it will be about FIVE pennies or something )

the postage will be annoying just because it isn't worth the cost of posting it IYSWIM, but if you are going to be stubborn about it and don't mind 2nd class post then some shall be winging its way to you soon

you are daft though
you do proper baking and everything
I can't cook
playdough is SOOOOOOOOO piss easy

have you any special requests or shall I send a surprise batch? I think you may be terribly disappointed after all this

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 18:06

oh have been to gym
40 mins

the head of gymnastics came into the lesson
ds was having a wobbler when we got there so I said I would stay with him
do you remember, the head of G said absolutely no parents staying ever, but the actual teacher told me not to worry, I could stay as long as I wanted to settle him in
so I stayed for a little bit of every week except for last week when I left straight away, he had wobbler and the teacher had to come and get me
anyway he was wobbly again, so I stayed for the warm up and then prepared to leave
head of G came and said all sorts of things but basically the gist was I had to tell ds I must leave at the beginning of the session because those were the rules
If I told him this he would be ok then
(oh of course why didn't I just think of that)
because I didn't really want to be sitting here on the hard floor did I
(oh YES I DO I really DO I am staying here entirely just for my own benefit )
and if all the mums and dads stayed, well where would we be then? (I have never seen another parent need to stay, is it likely all the 9 year olds are suddenly going to have a wobbler and need their mums)
anyway it has depressed me
ds has done so well settling in, he really has
he has such a good time there AS SOON AS HE FEELS SETTLED IN to the session
which sometimes takes longer than others
this woman wants to deprive him of that because she believes that I am just being silly and that for some reason I want to stay with him
but of course all you have to do is tell a scared child "I am not allowed to stay" and then they settle in straight away

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:12

Dearest Toots - a lovely sarong arrived today and I am so thrilled!!
Now all I have to do is persuade the boys that it is mine and please may I have it back, once they stopped dressing up in it

Also, please do you (or anyone else on here) have any lovely (easy) vegan cake recipes? As I need to make one for a friend.

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 18:12

anyway
(sorry for monstrous moan)

once she had finished depressing me I went to the gym and did all my arm things
am starving and have just eaten all the home made cake that my mum brought and that I asked her to not bring so much of every time

lionheart · 09/06/2008 18:13

Hello.

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:20

Lionheart!! hello!! How are you?

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:20

I was working on a title involving ''Cantaloup cantaloupe! do you see the bad mango'' but....

TooTicky · 09/06/2008 18:26

Fmf, I love that!

Yes, vegan cakes, absolutely,. Anything in particular? Banana and carrot? Chocolate and banana with choc fudge icing? Lemon explosion?

Oh Franny, those gym people are being very silly and awkward, aren't they?

And yes utterly please to the playdough. I could do you some 18" doll clothing?

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:27

yy, it could be ''I see a little sillouhette of a plum, cantaluope, etc etc''!

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:28

lemon explosion one sounds good. Must not have too many scary vegan ingredients though...

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 18:29

I only want clothes that people don't need any more TooT
I am sure yours are not grown out of dollies yet?

TooTicky · 09/06/2008 18:29

Everything vegan is scary. Me in particular.

TooTicky · 09/06/2008 18:30

I could crochet something....

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 18:31

yes it's v good

"will you eat the bad mango" I think

hold on this is turning into a Queen theme

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:32

we will, we will rocket you...

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2008 18:32

[appalled]

we like smiths songs and men with make up

TooTicky · 09/06/2008 18:34
fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:35

and Freddie never wore make-up...?

I'm not a huge Queen fan, honest, but we must have the bohemina rhapsody one, one day, pleeeeeease!

TigerFeet · 09/06/2008 18:36

banana, apple, veggie soup

more vegetable goodness later, probably involving cabbage

How is everyone?

Have been at the inlaws this weekend. They are lovely but a bit dull and incredibly indulgent of dd to the point of annoyance [looks gift horse in mouth]

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:36

i mean...
