For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Who is interested in a west country picnic-style meet up? Please shout or email me [email protected]

Hello you meanies, starting a new thread an then hiding is from me. I was still posting on the old one this morning.
My joy in life - not brilliant anyway atm - is currently very sapped indeed from doing the bero household's tax return. dh's comment was 'well, it's your own fault, we could have got a tax adviser'. A tax adviser, dear dh, costs money. Money we are not rolling in. I am so fed up of holding our family finances together, saving up and being pcked at for it. He is currently leaving about 99% of the washing-up to me expressly because I do not currently want to take another chunk out of our not-huge savings to replace our defunct dishwasher. We are not in dire straits but not fabulous either and will be facing another period of insecurity in a couple of years when his funding runs out. Reason enough to be careful IMO.
Rant over. As you were.

I will be in the w country end of June, but that's not enough notice

Isn't BMI not all it's been cracked up to be? dh is supposedly overweight but tbh I'm not entirely sure - he is very muscular.

I think I love Glastonbury and I will be v v v v jealous indeed if you all go there without me at the end of June
I will have the baby that day ON PURPOSE to spite you and you won't know anything about it for days and days while you are out in yokel land with no internet

so not too fussed either way really

and LOL at the glam rock revival of 1992
I think it must have been when that clip was shown on tv, MrsC
someone's videoed it and stuck it on YouTube

have had some stuffed vine leaves and half a banana
there is not much in the house tbh

Well, in my defence, I did think it looked a bit dated for the time.

Pink - I ate the rest of the carrot cake last night, I am such a glutton.

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2008 14:21

I might have a glam rock revival all by myself
in fact i think I have, once or twice

pinkspottywellies · 02/06/2008 14:26

I've never heard of the title song either [young]

It was nice cake wasn't it MrsC! Sorry it wasn't lovingly handcrafted or anything! Thanks for the lovely birthday chocolate too. I haven't started it yet - it's too pretty to open!

fullmoonfiend · 02/06/2008 14:27

oh the title needed 'yeah yeah yeah' at the end

But I likeee!

I have been shopping for f&V does that count?
(on foot, lugging all home too so exrcise as well.

I have spent some of my birthday money on LED dragonfly fairylights for camping, a coolbox and some more seeds. DH thinks I am quite loopy for not buying clothes/makeup etc. But he is also relieved too IYKWIM

Tatties · 02/06/2008 14:31

I wouldn't be able to make the meet either

Have fun this afternoon Franny and FK!

MrsC I am slightly younger than you but I know about Marc Bolan Actually most of the music I like predates me a bit I blame it on all the Tube reruns and Sounds of the 70s/80s they put on when I was in my teens...

Tatties · 02/06/2008 14:32

Did you get flower seeds or veggie seeds FMF?

MrsCarrot · 02/06/2008 14:45

well, I have heard of Mark Bolan, Tatties, just not that song!

FMV - You bought a toolbox for your birthday, that is hilarious.

Pink - you can't just look at it, you have to eat it!

littlerach · 02/06/2008 14:52

TooTicky,
Have emailed you re the meet up.

Tis raining again.
