For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh BBeee, I expect everyone who does re-enactment stuff is like that (sigh).

I just thouhgt it'd be a load of fun cooking pike over a campfire etc while the Medieval Babes sang live and loads of mead was passed round.

Probably it'd be a load of accountants called Malcolm and Susan discussing their caravan holiday in Berwick-upon-Tweed

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2008 20:36

that's what I said Bee
my mum said the water would come flying off your house in great big sheets
so dp and I have had some very jolly guttering jokes about how sheety it all is
also, how gutted we are
it's been marvellous

fullmoonfiend · 02/06/2008 20:44

and eeeewwwwwww!

pinkspottywellies · 02/06/2008 20:52

Ok FMF's in there first with a swap! I've just emailed you.

TigerFeet · 02/06/2008 20:53

sorry franny I sniggered at you and dp being gutted

We have a tomato plant and a red bell pepper plant and a pumpkin plant on the kitchen windowsill which I will plant out just as soon as it stops pissing down

I also have rocket seeds, happy to swap I will have to keep some though as I haven't yet got round to planting any out. Ditto herbs and cress.

My youngest brother used to do Live ROle Play where they all run round with latex swords and real chain mail pretending to be orks or whatever. I had a boyfriend many years ago that did the same.

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 20:57

hi i am not too old for t rex in fact old enough for knowing that it was origianlly tyrannosaurus rex and ride a white swan was a much better song

BBBee · 02/06/2008 20:57

but why can't the rain fly off the roof in sheets? That would be fun would it not. I might go and rip our gutters off now.

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 20:58

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2008 21:02

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 02/06/2008 21:02

Shall we each remove a piece of guttering and post it to Franny?

DD would adore it, she loves rain and puddles

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2008 21:06

we've still got the bit though
I don't see why it is going to cost a lot to tack it back on again

AnonymousStranger · 02/06/2008 21:06

I do not have rocket. Because they call it arugula here and I object. And I couldn't find any seeds.

Was I nice, zippi? I don't think I did anything. Hope you are ok. I blabbed a bit too much to Man yesterday and am worrying a bit about the consequences. He said it was all fine and was lovely about it all but I am sure he is concerned that he is seeing another psycho. He's probably right too

fullmoonfiend · 02/06/2008 21:06

lol, I refer you to my post on wnakiest thing you've heard:

''oh Oscar lives for my home-grown rocket...''

TigerFeet · 02/06/2008 21:09

I've just seen a thread on growing your own mushrooms. Has anyone done it? Is it worth the outlay?

I love rocket best of all the leafy salad vegetables. I really must get round to sowing some

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2008 21:14

ooh ooh we have sorrel also
well we have sorrel seeds, we haven't got anything yet except a leaky gutter and a hopeful expression

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 21:15

oh well truth is UR my memory is more than slightly hazy as i was in credibly pissed obviously

AnonymousStranger · 02/06/2008 21:15

lol FMF

And everyone thinks I'm a ponce because I say tom-ah-toes and Ba-sil (rather than tomaytoes and baysil) And I call them Herbs not 'erbs. I want to punch people who tell me about their 'erbs.

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2008 21:16

hah at 'erbs

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 02/06/2008 21:21

Surely home-grown veg is cheapskate-y not poncey?!

berolina · 02/06/2008 21:26

It is poncy in a cheapy way, Pink, or cheapy in a poncy way. I do it partly so ds1 has that experience of Gardening that we currently Cannot Give Him (as no garden ), but also because I do not want to be paying the sort of money I would have to pay for as much rocket as I would like to eat. Luckily we have rampant rocket.

AnonymousStranger · 02/06/2008 22:27

lol @ rampant rocket

tis me, UR, btw

berolina · 02/06/2008 22:28

AnonymousStranger · 02/06/2008 22:32
