For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

UR, I can only offer what I pooed yesterday which, although possibly diverting, is not cheering
Would you like to hear about our blocked loo?

I have eaten chocolate with bits of crystallised orange zest . I haven't bought chocolate for ages but felt I needed it as a mental restorative.
I don't think I've had any lunch.

Although I don't follow the thread
I just wanted to pop in and say I do follow the titles and love them . This one is particularly genius!!

Tatties · 27/05/2008 16:04

Just catching up on a couple of days's worth...

UR I am so sorry to hear what you are facing I don't know what to say but am thinking of you

Franny, you will say if there's anything you are short of won't you? I can have another dig around ds's things

And I am sorry for all the illness... I don't know if everyone knows I have a problem with it. I am a bit embarrassed tbh, and sometimes avoid the thread when people are talking about it. But look I never begrudge anyone talking about it because when you or your children are ill you want some support and sympathy (as I do!) so I don't want to stop anyone mentioning it on my account. That wouldn't be fair.

Wombling I have been wondering where you were, I have missed you!

FrayedKnot · 27/05/2008 16:07

UR am thinking of you. I really hope this doesn;t turn out as you fear. I am still incredulous at the situation. Please come back soon.

TooT I hope the chocolate has restored you. Glad to hear DS should be on the mend again.

Today I found out one of my good friends at work had to have an emergency CS on Saturday - she still had 7 weeks 'til her due date . Thank goodness, she & baby are doing OK, and she is managing to express some milk .

Just had a peek at all our veg and things are doing really well since I added the plant feed and with the tropical weather we've been having. I think the tomatoes may rally.

lazarou · 27/05/2008 16:23

Well, I've only just started really. I had to do science starts here because my maths left a lot to be desired. I plan to do exploring science after this. There are four residential schools with the degree I want, so a little daunting, but the whole degree looks very enjoyable. I'm loving studying again.
I don't think Life in the Oceans is a specified course, but lot's of people in the forum have done it and said it was good. Actually, all the courses seem to be very interesting.

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 16:31

UR are you having your meeting now? I am thinking about you. If you ever need poo talk I am your woman, as you know. So pleased to find I can help after all

FMF I am quite sure I can have an argument all by myself you know
I do it frequently in RL

just back from messy play session at local leisure centre
I apparently paid a fiver for ds to play with some spaghetti and cornflour for 2 hours but my god it was worth it now to have to clean up the MESS

Oh.

Daisy if you have been managing the exercise and half the f+v every day that actually sounds pretty good to me. Why don't you stop lurking and start posting - it does make a difference when you know you are going to account for yourself at the end of the day

talking of which I had baked beans for lunch with blackeyed beans yes chaps I ate a VEGETABLE
you'll be in shock I know

Tiger Feet that is good to hear. I shall tell dp a Proper Scientist told me
and we won't mention all the Miltons I am going to use or it will set Avi off again about the Rape of the You Know What
actually can I just get some back up here
dp has been sweeping up the leftover bits of mouse poison (they kind of spread it around) and putting them in the toilet
this was really a stupid idea wasn't it? or is it just me

TooTicky · 27/05/2008 16:36

Tatties, sorry if I have been graphic in any way. Are you okay with poo? You must be or you'd never cope with Franny

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 16:37

I don't know what else to do

FrayedKnot · 27/05/2008 16:37

Happy Birthday Pink!

Hope you are having a lovely day

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 16:38

NOBODY is poo phobic, so don't even THINK about pretending

oh ok someone might be
I have really been good about it lately

Happy birthday Pink

Spinach

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 16:39

I know he is quite intelligent person really TooT
I mean he has a degree and that which is more than I do
and they seem to pay him quite reasonable amounts of money for whatever it is he does in the city
then he comes home and puts poison in the sewage system and leaves my baby's moses basket for mice to piss in
funny old life

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 16:39

Pink? It's Pink's birthday? Huzzah!

OP posts:
TooTicky · 27/05/2008 16:41

It's the old intelligence vs common sense thing. Dd1 outshines most people with intelligence but her common sense is virtually non-exitente

TooTicky · 27/05/2008 16:42

Sorry, non-existent. My finger went mad

TooTicky · 27/05/2008 16:42

Oh Pink - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 16:42

I am poo phobic. [nods] Absolutely. Less said the better, in fact couldn't we just keep nice and quiet about all our bodily functions? That'd be just fine.

Franny will have special dispensation for her giving birth story, but only briefly.

[claps hands]

So pleased that is all sorted.

Franny, lock up the art cupboard. Today dd made purple paint - and then, she says, wondered what would happen if she put the milk whisk in the purple paint. And this was a very interesting wondering, and so then she got the milk whisk and put it in the purple paint and SPLAT SPLOT SPLIT all over her, and the entire room as far as I can see.

Lock up the art cupboard. Wish I had.

Everything is just busy. UR hope you okay. Just came to check on you really.

lazarou · 27/05/2008 16:43

Can I just ask, what exercise is everyone doing? I need to do something, my body is seizing up!

I am growing tomatoes, rocket, pumpkins, peppers and chilli peppers. They seem to be doing very well. Good intentions all that...

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 16:43
