For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lully hope you're ok, you do sound exhausted, stop being so amazingly thorough! Leave the housework and have beans on toast and lie down, please! You must look after yourself

Glad it went well with your dad though.

Bero I'm intrigued by the whole drunken hand cart thing, it sounds strange and demented.

MrsCarrot · 01/06/2008 21:09

well, we didn't miss the croissants too much as ds went and bought green and blacks cookies and Pink kindly brought me some carrot cake.

I must confess to secretly hoping she would

I have eaten a roast with loads of veg and the rest of said cake and I seem to have spent the afternoon either pairing the loin of Bartholomew with the belly of Brunhilde on medieval mnet or arguing for the concession of a toddlers bite of apple. Theft is theft don't you know? Oh fuck off.

Betty Blue had a ghastly ending, don't watch it. It was wholly unexpected and I am annoyed with dh for not warning me that the frisky feelgood film would be so, so disturbing.

stuffitllama · 01/06/2008 21:10

loads today, peppers and aubergines, tomatoes, loads of couscous-y type salad things, raw onion and so on
and last night too
i didn't make up for dreadful f & v week though

sorry lully about your terrible time

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 21:10

oh good old Pink

OP posts:
Boco · 01/06/2008 21:11

God did you think Betty Blue was going to be frisky feelgood? Harrowed me for years that film. Although do rather fancy the dishy boyfriend, which made the whole thing easier.

TITLE VOTING PLEASE LADIES

MrsCarrot · 01/06/2008 21:14

well, I knew there was loads of sex and frolics and that she was a bit mad but you know, that was harsh.

I need to watch Pride and Prejudice now to restore my faith that love will conquer all.

berolina · 01/06/2008 21:14

lully

You know overdoing it is a false economy, don't you? I often get intensely irritated with people who tell me to have a break when I have loads that NEEDS to be done, but I have often made bad decisions in that respect - one of them being working through two of my miscarriages (1 day off for the D&C ). Mind over matter is all very well but matter is the foundation of mind... Can you plan breaks between chores?

Boco it is very demented. It makes me very when the Germans insist they have a 'continental' drinking culture and pour scorn on the Brits.

BBBee · 01/06/2008 21:15

lentil guru - could it be stew?

FrayedKnot · 01/06/2008 21:18

Lentil Guru gets my vote

TigerFeet · 01/06/2008 21:18

Gosh Lully you have so much pressing on you, poor love

Take good care of yourself, bollocks to the housework, take it easy and rest.

Boco! Glad you're back and dd is OK.

DD has been to two, count 'em, two parties today. She is very sad because all her friends are 4 now and she is still 3. All the mums were discussing schools and uniforms and stuff and I was thinking, "But she is only three years old still".

We had a roast today too with loads and loads of luverley veg, which I am delighted to inform you all is now staying put when I eat it

DH works for a farming company, they had an open day today (that dd and I couldn't go to because she insisted on going to the goddam parties), he was manning the "Name the funny looking vegetable" stall and was shocked by how many children can't name vegetables, even the easy ones. He came home with a box of organic veg c/o the company, they gave one to everyone who was there, we will not be dying of scurvy this week, there's farking loads of it. Next year you must all come to Linconlshire for the next open day and go home with free vegetables.

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 21:23

ahhh
so people like lentil guru with the addition of the v good stew joke then?
well I may wield my executive --arsiness- power and go for that one as it was partly me wot thought of it and I do like it

it should be 'lentil guru - is it stew?' though I reckon Bee

oh BEE! how are you?

OP posts:
Boco · 01/06/2008 21:30

I don't get the lentil guru one, can you explain?

Bee where have you been?

TooTicky · 01/06/2008 21:33

Oh Lully, I want you and ds to go and live with your grandmother and be happy and looked after!
iF THERE IS EVER ANYTHING THAT WE CAN DO, AT ALL, IN ANY WAY, ABOUT ANYTHING, PLEEEASE DO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, where did thosre capitals come from? [hm,m]

Am undecided whether I should take ds2 back to hospital tomorrow.

Tabbouleh, humous, carrot, apple, oat cookies full of a[ple and raisind.

TooTicky · 01/06/2008 21:36

Oh flip can't type. Might have something to do with dd2 who is bf, fiddling with my face, humming, sticking her toes in my watch strap and waving her legs.

I don't get the lentilm one either.

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 21:42

Metal Guru

TooT if not better tomorrow I would say yes

OP posts:
TooTicky · 01/06/2008 21:47

Oh yes I have heard that, just didn't know what it was. His mouth is just too big though, isn't it?

BBBee · 01/06/2008 22:42

oh yes - should add lentil guru is in no way mine - but it was on the radio today and i remembered it and remembered that we never did it - it is very good - but only if you know the song - but then they are all like that s'pose.

I cannot keep up with you all - i am quite busy so feels like i just burst in and shout at you all. I have no idea where you are all at - 'tis not great state of affairs you know. And now I have to go and write a report which i assure you is as dull as it sounds - so i am here, more shouting and then gone.

VEGETABLE LOVE TO YOU ALL......

BBBee · 01/06/2008 23:12

have you sent me to coventry?
