For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

well he isn't getting anything else
he didn't seem as excited as a person should rightly be, when informed that they will be receiving a radio controlled pirate ship with functional cannon, IMO

Franny someone is asking for your wanky basket info.

TooTicky · 01/06/2008 12:52

No and emphatically NO to Glastonbury festival - I meant Glastonbury the place.

Bee - ds2's eye went sore and swollen again and we went to hospital 3 times in two days and the car broke down and they removed a loose stitch and all was fine for a day or so. However, this morning he has been behaving like a boy with another loose stitch
But how are you????? We miss you.

Franny, do you need books or suggestions of books? How about crochet? Do you paint? Look, you are going to be kicking yourself in a few weeks time when there are lots of quiet sitting-down type things you want to do and no opportunity.

I am marking. Again.

I am looking forward to being a SAHM again tomorrow. Must remember it is school.

fullmoonfiend · 01/06/2008 13:01

my kids have a blardy inset day tomorrow so I have to think of something to do with them, when all I want to do is get house back to normal and sleep!

IdrisTheDragon · 01/06/2008 14:50

At least I am pretty sure it is school

lullabyloo · 01/06/2008 16:37

Hello lovely ones

I am feeling really knackered & tearful
Last few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster, relationship stuff..father's visit & dredging up issues that I've stuffed under the carpet for a while..meeting his new ghastly partner..& saying goodbye again today

He was always a kind man,..someone I admired & had respect for..his mind fascinated me,so many amazing ideas & notions..but he was never much of a Father.
We have grown very ,very close since he left through email & telephone conversations & I miss him
I managed to break down & sob while saying goodbye today & really upset ds

I wish his partner were a little less like my mother

lullabyloo · 01/06/2008 16:38

We saw Nigel Havers & Michael Parkinson in Harrods yesterday

berolina · 01/06/2008 17:00

lully

Been/going through a lot of parent stuff myself and it is draining. How wonderful, though, that you have gained that closeness so (relatively) late on in your relationship.

ds will be fine, he will see that strong emotions and their expression are part of life sometimes.

Can you rest now, have a very quiet rest of day?

apple, banana, pear, apricot, strawberries. Potato wedges with herbs, courgette sauce. Veg bread and salad planned for tonight. I will definitely make the 10.

FMF, how is the weather? Would garden/allotment (you have one, don't you ?) all day be an option?

Franny at present. When is Father's Day? We celebrate the UK Mother's Day in this house at my insistence (which, however, did not stop me graciously accepting ds1's German-Mother's-Day gift from kindergarten - a handprint in salt dough ), so I suppose we should celebrate UK Father's Day too. (German 'Father's' day is Ascension, which is a public holiday here, and involves men, whether fathers or not, going out together in big groups pulling handcarts full of beer and often ending up beating one another up or harassing daytrippers . dh does not participate)

Am sorry for snaffled sunflowers.

berolina · 01/06/2008 17:01

I think I use too many emoticons.

I would have stopped using them had they not changed them back. I think I am going to give them up anyway, save the occasional or .

lullabyloo · 01/06/2008 17:20

Aww Bero
Yes it really is isn't it?

Am also feeling ridden with guilt at telling everone I have no idea where he is when I have just spent a week with him.

Cant really rest..having been out of the flat for two weeks really ..it is an absolute bombsite.I have done 3 loads of washing, hoovering, washed floors, changed beds..cleared mountain of toys & yet it still looks like a tip

Have just taken a tray of tea, cakes etc up to wedding clients in the Turret...saffron rissotto in the oven which we'll have with asparagus, baby leeks & peas

I just get stupidly tired these days & it really irritates me.I can rally for a few days on the trot & then boom..I'm floored & utterly useless.

I have been pretending to myself that I am managing this wretched illness & that it's all mind over matter etc & If I ignore it I can keep it at bay.But one growth is alarmingly big now & it is possible that It could implode.
I have to watch for extreme tiredness, thirst & dull pain.
I am so bloody scared

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 17:50

Lully my dear
being scared of something like that the whole time must be so horrible
I think generally NOT trying to carry on as normal would be the best? I know you need to keep going to whatever extent you can
but not pushing yourself all the time?

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 01/06/2008 18:14

Lully, don't really know what to say to you except for ((hugs))

your dinner sounds beautiful
