For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Just popping in, have busy w/end planned.

So glad you're back, and DD2 is on the mend Boco! We were all so concerned for you all.

Hope DP takes dd1 to her party.

Tatties, will email you later.

Bero, hope you manage to smooth things over.

Hello Lully, how are you my sweet?

Veggie goodness to all, see you later!

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 11:04

wombling wombling would you like that blue top back or shall I pass to friend?

OP posts:
Boco · 31/05/2008 11:05

Am SO relieved. Never leaving the village again. Was seriously good to get the texts - liked the jokes! They turn the lights out at 8.30 and then you're just sitting in a chair in the dark with no one to talk to and no where to go - all night! The other parents had brought in camp beds and blankets and pillows Was begging phone not to die as it was only source of entertainment.

AND the flight was delayed, really was thinking we'd never get home, standing in a queue in the airport for an hour with dd sitting on the floor coughing dramatically adn saying 'have I got nunomia?' loudly. I think she was pretty freaked out by the whole thing as the nurses were quite scary - not at all smiley, they take blood by just squeezing, none of the magic cream and distraction, and she was scared of the nebuliser and the drip. She kept asking if she was going to die and then if all the other children were going to die. Once she started getting better though it was quite fast.

She's had croup a lot before, but this was really different, proper struggling to breathe and loud wheezing. Came on so fast too, very scary.

Anyway, thanks for all the vegetable support.

womblingalong · 31/05/2008 11:06

Sorry Franny,

meant to say yesterday, Please pass on to friend, it is yours now, I am sure you paid me for it!

I think it is v flattering and a bit trendy, so needs use now IYSWIM. Glad the others are still going strong.

X

fullmoonfiend · 31/05/2008 11:18

Oh Boco - sol glad you're home safely and dd is ok and everything. The whole experience sounds utterly grim and wretched.....

Tatties, i did get your email but have been too manic to sit down and deal with emails recently....

Had a lovely thai meal last night with sliced ''dries fungus' which was black and look like slices of brain but was really delicious!

Boys are all off to cinema soon and I will spend some of my birthday money on more seeds for allotty!

Very glad you are home Boco

berolina · 31/05/2008 14:35

dh and ds1 are back, early. PIL are AWOL dh couldn't reach them at all, so he just hung around the fringes of the airshow for a while and then headed to a cycle shop. They are in the bath - were both very hot and sweaty.
It's all a bit of a mess. avi, you are right, things are simmering still and the odd explosion is inevitable. i wonder when arguments will stop leaving me so drained and shaky?

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 16:35

Just had a bit of a low point - was at nature reserve trying to get somewhere (dp and ds gone on ahead) and an old lady stopped to offer me her arm
she was coming up to 80 I would say

Oh dear franny ,

Maybe the zimmer frame was a bit much?

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 17:00

I mean bless her
but it did not exactly boost my morale

OP posts:
TooTicky · 31/05/2008 17:56

BOCO - so glad you're back safe and sound!

Franny - perhaps she had spd so knew what it was like, and if an spd sufferer can go on to be a sprightly 80yo with energy to spare.....

Have been swimming to celebrate ds2 being able to again and then went to park and paddled in the river. Was rather wonderful. My children took off more clothes than others.

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 18:01

she was not sprightly
she was doddering
it was painful really

womblingalong · 31/05/2008 18:43

oh, I was only joking franny my love, hope i didn't make you feel worse.

lullabyloo · 31/05/2008 18:51

Oh Franny

Here...have a strawberry,raspberry & cream butterfly cake
They are heavenly...I think I may just eat a dozen of those & forget about dinner

Boco · 31/05/2008 19:03

Toot what happened with Ds's eye - when I left you had a lift to the hospital but not one back, is everything ok?

Bero sorry about the argument, hope things are alright.

Poor Franny and the old lady arm, was she a small old lady too? You're so tall, it'd be hard to take an old lady arm without stooping which wouldn't help at all.

Ordered dp to go and buy food as we had none at all, he got just outside the village and was pulled over by the police who said the car was showing up as having no insurance. My mum had to drive over here, pick up documents and drive to where dp was sitting in a police car. Was about 3pm before got food, but now we are sorted, don't know what's going on with insurance, we do have it, just not showing up on national database or something. Dp has to chase up and present documents at police station. Was getting rather desperate there. But MrsC sent flowers! Lovely MrsC and that is very nice.

Boco · 31/05/2008 19:06

Oh and UR, i'm sorry to hear about things being so hard - I haven't found thread yet, but from the bits i've read it sounds very frightening.

Found pod alionami place btw, on the first night and it did look lovely - they didn't have any space that first night and then obv didn't get a chance to go back, but it did look very good. I said to mil that it had been recommended by underrated, and she said 'what?, who?' and i said 'umm, Rita'. So you became my friend Rita who has been to Krakow

TooTicky · 31/05/2008 19:12

Ds2 is okay thank you Boco
The discomfort was being caused by a loose stitch, which they removed. He is so much more comfortable now that I think it must have been niggling for a while. Next visit in 4 or 5 weeks time to remove remaining stitches.
Dp was able to collect us having borrowed car from lovely neighbour. Otherwise, was going to catch buses...

TooTicky · 31/05/2008 19:15

OH and he may need glasses which he is utterly delighted about. He has been wanting to look like more like the Doctor

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 19:38

oh no wombling it is funny really

Lully I really want one of those cakes

Boco I think things should STOP happening to you now
I think it is time for a nice dull week

OP posts:
Boco · 31/05/2008 19:52

I absolutely agree Franny, I long for dull.

berolina · 31/05/2008 20:18

Things have looked up. I have had a lovely talk to a dear wonderful friend. dses being delightful. dh being quite sweet really.

Apple, pear, plum. Spuds in their skins, salad (mixed leaves, carrot, sunflower seeds, cherry tomatoes), cold leftover homemade pizza. Cooled hot chocolate with ice cream on top

MrsCarrot · 31/05/2008 20:55

Your food sounds nice, Bero

I haven't eaten yet, everything today has taken so long, lunch was at 3pm or so.

Boco - I am always wishing that too, things are either going brilliantly or dreadful things happen, there never seems to be a middle ground and it can be stressful. Sometimes I wish life would just mosey on by.

IdrisTheDragon · 31/05/2008 21:01
