For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Tatties · 31/05/2008 22:50

Yes, must think about meet up again. Somewhere near Lulsgate? Hmmm.....

TooTicky · 31/05/2008 23:42

Okay, just for the sheer hell of it, how about Glastonbury?

MrsCarrot · 01/06/2008 09:11

Glastonbury festival? You have to enter competitions to get tickets now. Oh, you get the sunday pass if you live nearby though don't you, my friend's parents live in Bath and he always goes for the sunday even though he lives in France.

I am tired. My new way of putting ds2 back in his cot if he wakes up too early, ie before 6am, is working, he is cross but he goes back to sleep quickly. I couldn't get back to sleep though as DH was doing this hideous snoring. I felt like shaving some soap into his mouth but I got up instead.

There won't be any croissants for Pink now as we have eaten them all. Well, they were small, and I did have a whole mango to myself with a pt of raspberries seen as I was the only one up.

BBBee · 01/06/2008 09:23

omg boco - is the poland thing a joke? why did you go to poland? what has been going on with toot? is carrot all recovered? please answer for yourselves or on behalf of others.

MrsCarrot · 01/06/2008 09:28

Boco did go to Poland and was unfortunately not joking but was grateful to receive some jokes.

Oh dear Franny

Some creature has eaten the sunflower seedlings I planted in the garden I have some in a pot which are doing lovely, but I transferred a few to the flower bed and now they are gone

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 10:25

yes ours have been munched also
we are trying to grow some more but it's a bit late isn't it

OP posts:
Tatties · 01/06/2008 10:30

Well I am not putting any more in the ground. Even if it is a bit late I might have a go with some more in pots [inexperienced gardener]

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 10:57

I would think this would be of interest to most of us

I ed at this bit though:

"Like pears, mangoes ripen slowly, but they generously hold on to their window of perfection longer, sometimes for a week or more (a pear can shoot its bolt in a day or less), giving you more of a chance to catch them at their best"

fullmoonfiend · 01/06/2008 11:03

Snap at sunflower seedlings

I am feeling delicate. We have had 4 different lots of houseguest this week, last night DH passed out went to bed at 10pm, leaving me to entertain die-hard party people (and over escited children) until 1.30am when, mercifully, one of the guest children had a Dr Who-induced nightmare and effectively broke up the party. I am so exhausted. I want my house back. I want to go to bed at 9pm with a book and a mug of cocoa.

fullmoonfiend · 01/06/2008 11:04

everyone is playing Star Wars trivial pursuit right now, allowing me some precious MN time

Tatties · 01/06/2008 11:05

Mmmm Nigel

Tatties · 01/06/2008 11:07

Oh you too with the sunflowers What is it eating them?

In your position FMF I would be feeling well and truly peopled-out. I would be hiding by now I reckon

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2008 11:11

oh FMF when are they going? I bet they have had a fab time, think of all those hostess points

dp has just managed to open his father's day present while tidying up in the spare room
it would be funny if it wasn't sad and irritating - he came downstairs looking very serious and sent ds upstairs so he couldn't hear Then hissed worriedly "I have just opened a box that I thought had nappies in it and it was PIRATE RELATED"

LOLOLOL oh dear
