For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

You need to be having a dull life atm, Franny, it is good for you! Maybe you could go and have a bash at the singing with your neighbours, a bit of Smiths warbling might cheer you up.

I need bootcamp too, Idris, mind you, I'm not supposed to be doing much still.

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 21:11

can you watch a film?

We are about to watch the rest of Betty Blue, we didn't finish it as it was so long and didn't even get on to Brief Encounter.

A friend who came today said she is going to France for two weeks to the beach where Betty was filmed. I am jealous. I want to go to France for two weeks. No holiday till August.

MrsCarrot · 31/05/2008 21:16

sorry, that sounds very spoilt, no holiday until August when it's about to be June, but I have done a lot of sitting about.

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 21:18

oh it is nearly bedtime I expect
I just feel I never do anything interesting and never will again
god how dull and whingy

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 31/05/2008 21:18

We have no holiday until August either.

I would like to suddenly go away (wonders if dull life is really what I like [smile)

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 21:19

you have done a lot of sitting about mrsC and you have been very patient

IdrisTheDragon · 31/05/2008 21:19

lullabyloo · 31/05/2008 21:19

I watched A good year last night
It was rather good

I have eaten four

but masses of asparagus, cherries, watermelon, huge salad too

MrsCarrot · 31/05/2008 21:20

yes, I have been a patient patient

Idris - that's it, spontanous holidays are the thing, days out are nearly as good.

Boco · 31/05/2008 21:20

No no, don't go away, any of you, stay at home, lie down, put on protective clothing! Dull is good! Going away is over rated and potentially disastrous. TV is good. Biscuits, beds, clocks, absence of grey meat, these are all good.

FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2008 21:22

poor Boco

Pink is coming for a coffee in the morning. She is in Norwich visiting her sister. The house is a complete mess and the front garden is full of weeds but I have no energy for a whizz round.

I will make good coffee and maybe offer croissants and hope that makes up for any bad first impressions.

MrsCarrot · 31/05/2008 21:24

Boco - you will stay at home for a long time won't you

Boco · 31/05/2008 21:25

That'll be nice Mrsc, i'm sure Pink won't be noticing weeds though, who notices weeds?

Boco · 31/05/2008 21:29

Yes, good cure for the desire to get out of the village I suppose! Is gone!

MrsCarrot · 31/05/2008 21:29

me, Boco, every time I open the curtains. They are not nice weeds, my garden is full of nice weeds. They are stinking great thistles poking up through the forget-me-knots.

BBBee · 31/05/2008 21:37

HELLO

oh god - i can NO WAY catch up - this is the first time I have posted on this thread. Please tell me stuff - how is MrsC? WHat has happened with toot? how are you all?

I am doing better FV wise thank god.

Boco · 31/05/2008 21:59

Hello Bee, I will tell you that I went to Poland and dd2 got pneumonia and spent most of the holiday in a krakow hospital and veggers were rousing with their joke telling and arguing about thomas the tank engine which i heard about via text from mrsC and foxinsocks.

But i've bored people with it all day so will stop now

Tatties · 31/05/2008 22:34

I have been painting and listening to The Mayor of Casterbridge on the radio. Ooh Hardy is good.

I am ravenous. My hunger seems permanently insatiable atm
