For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

yes well some of us have distanced ourselves from childbirth and reverted to the idea of gosseberry bushes and storks

UnderRated · 11/05/2008 21:47

Gosh Cyteen, that sounds rather traumatic.

Thanks zippi and Bero for link.

FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2008 21:47

cyteen I think this will indeed stand you in good stead
you might however want to think about acquiring a few inhibitions before going to give birth or god knows what could happen

on a more positive note is the f+v not helping at all? are you actually eating any f+v

pineapple and beetroot are VERY EFFECTIVE you know

zippitippitoes · 11/05/2008 21:48

or vitmain c tablets jordans granola

UnderRated · 11/05/2008 21:50

And prunes, plums, peaches and pears.

UnderRated · 11/05/2008 21:50

The others have referred to this as serious shit talk

cyteen · 11/05/2008 21:51

I think I just need to sustain full 10/10 levels every day for the next 3 months...

Sorry for the extreme TMI, was just feeling momentarily lonely and vulnerable.

cyteen · 11/05/2008 21:52

And yes Franny, you did egg me on!

I am a model of decorum normally.

FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2008 21:52

ah they are discussing saluting magpies and children's drawings being omens of plane crashes, ignore them they are just jealous of the poo talk

cyteen it sounds very nasty
how long has it been going on for?

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 11/05/2008 21:53

I'm going to struggle keeping up with both threads

Just realised that Maxibon are made by Ne*stle but it's an ice cream/biscuit sandwich with chocolate coating on one end. I hadn't had them for ages and saw them in the supermarket local grocers

cyteen · 11/05/2008 21:58

Don't worry, I even horrified myself a little bit just then.

Without further details, constipation has been the worst part of pregnancy for me, it's been constant pretty much the whole way through. I know I've been really lucky all in all as have escaped morning sickness and most other rubbish side effects of being up the duff, but it's still pretty miserable.

F+V is the way forward.

FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2008 22:00

no, constipation is really horrid
are you doing all obvious things like drinking lots of water?
and seriously what is your diet like? don't eat any white carbs and really ramp up the f+v

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2008 22:00

I shall overlook that post Miss Pink

Boco · 11/05/2008 22:07

stuffitllama · 11/05/2008 22:14

Quite jealous of your gig-going this evening Franny; all I'm going to be doing is reading the Highway Code and making some desultory efforts to pack more stuff up.

Am vegless as yet, but have salad and grapefruit for lunch, and leftover pepper pasta as well. I'm planning an evening blitz.
