For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh MrsC
Thank you for letting us know Boco, I have also been pacing.

lullabyloo · 03/05/2008 20:39

Oh poor lovely one

Thankyou Boco

Boco · 03/05/2008 20:40

Apparently she didn't have to operation until quite late yesterday and so she's been quite out of it all day.

Hopefully tomorrow will be easier.

Boco · 03/05/2008 20:40

Lully have you seen my email?

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2008 20:41

Oh thank you Boco
that's mostly good news
please can you tell her not to save the parcels for when she is feeling slightly better and needs something to do? Not when she is feeling emotional and all that, she just needs to rest

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2008 20:41

oh dear I meant please tell her TO SAVE the parcels

not 'not to save them'
Franny in a muddle

Oh poor MrsC. Hope she feels stronger in the morning.

I am glad some of you have had happy/bouncy days. I have had a very quiet day, getting thins done here and there.

Apple, banana, apple juice. Sesame seed rolls. In the evening a big plate of couscous with chickpeas, courgette, yellow pepper, lots and lots of fresh parsley, sunflower seeds and shallot. Have I made the elusive 10? I always seem to get stuck at 7 or 8 usually.

IdrisTheDragon · 03/05/2008 20:49

Thank you for letting us know about MrsC Boco. Poor her being in pain .

Have also had a quiet day.

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2008 20:49

about the asparagus
just steam it and eat with lemon juice and salt and pepper
how can you think of doing anything else to it? my god
do it one day while everyone is out and just eat and eat and eat with the juice running down your chin
I will come and help you if you like? [hopeful]

FrayedKnot · 03/05/2008 20:52

Oh poor MrsC

I hope they can get her pain sorted out for tonight.

TooTicky · 03/05/2008 20:52

Oh poor MrsC. A good night's sleep should help.

Dd1 is away this w/e so I took the others to Bowood today. Brilliant adventure playground, lovely lake, waterfall and little cavey bits. Wish we had a season ticket.
Dd2 has a barky cough, mainly at night.

Boco · 03/05/2008 20:53

I imagine there are a lot of drugs in the hospital. Do we have drugs? I don't have any. Do you?

She said 'quite' a lot of pain. I guess she's on morphine isn't she? She must be pretty shocked at the moment, it's a big op.

pinkspottywellies · 03/05/2008 20:54

No that would be very right Franny. Wait there I'll get the helicopter!

TooTicky · 03/05/2008 20:54

pinkspottywellies · 03/05/2008 20:55

Thanks for letting us know Boco. Lets leave lots of kisses round for MrsC like we did for TooT xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have just run 5k. Not a very veggie day though.

berolina · 03/05/2008 20:55

I remember my mother being quite upset and crying after we visited her in hospital after hers, and IIRC it was some days after. Poor thing.

TooTicky · 03/05/2008 20:55

I had morphine after CS. I remember it being v. good but there was still pain.

pinkspottywellies · 03/05/2008 20:56

Oh I got the carroty pic from Franny thanks! It's brilliant!

berolina · 03/05/2008 20:56

('poor thing' meaning MrsC now, not my mother)

TooTicky · 03/05/2008 20:57

I could post a pic of actual mug on my pics, visible only to mates. That would be okay, wouldn't it? My only MN mates are 10/10ers.

Kisses for me? Where?

Tatties · 03/05/2008 20:58

Do you know how long MrsC will be in hospital?

FrayedKnot · 03/05/2008 20:58
