For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hello EmmyLou, they are teasing me about the bottom thing I think
well I think if I was you I would just try it, but build up slowly
it may settle everything down, or may make it worse at first, or who knows
have you noticed particular things that upset your system? some people can't handle beans, or the more windy types of veg such as cauli and cabbage
some fruit and veg are definitely more soothing to the body than others - bananas can be very good for binding dodgy tummies - you could probably google for others that are gentle?
I would avoid lots of citrus and things like pineapple are quite deadly
also IMO if beetroot was available on the NHS no-one would ever be constipated, put it that way

UR have a good party
I wish I was there, I love other people's parties very much

you know the thing I said I had finished banging on about... well I haven't
the 13 weeks of NI need to be paid during my test period - which ends mid June - so I can't just pay the next 13 weeks, I have to do some back paying
fingers crossed for a helpful tax man

oh salad, about half a plate full
yummy muffin pizzas with lots of beans and mushrooms and tomatoes in the topping
orange juice
an apple, the rest of the orange melon. It was so good

how blardy annoying and stressful, Franzo....

Anybody know anything about diabetic children? My poor best mate has just found out her 5 year old appears to have diabetes and we are in shock...

littlerach · 02/05/2008 20:02

Sorry, FMF, no advice for diabetes.
Was it Spidermama who found out her son had it a couple o fyears ago?

Dd1's award is a stcker chart thing.
They statr off with bronze and work through, based on how many stickers they get. They get them for various things.
I think she must have had 75 now

Very full - stilton and brocoloi pasta with salad.

Waffles with choc sauce and strawberries.

OsmosisBanana · 02/05/2008 20:22

I need to lose some weight. Sigh.

pinkspottywellies · 02/05/2008 20:28

Any news on MrsC yet? Can I see the photo on the mug please someone?

I haven't eaten much good stuff but I ran 5k last night and trampolined and ran around soft play today.

OsmosisBanana · 02/05/2008 20:29

I am so fucked off with DH I am wondering about poisoning him. Any tips greatfully received.

Fullmoonfiend · 02/05/2008 20:51

Feed him salad. My Dh also claims I'm trying to poison him if I put frilly food on his plate...

BBBee · 02/05/2008 20:52

any news on mrs c?

any news generally?

what is this mug of which you speak?

hello!

Fullmoonfiend · 02/05/2008 20:55

BBBeee, if you email me, I will show you pic of mug. Tis very good.

berolina · 02/05/2008 20:59

Try not to fret, Franny - IME, even over here, bureaucrats tend to be humane and sort things out for you.

Hope MtsC is doing ok

Baked courgette and rice with tomatoes for dinner. After untraumatic tangle with German Bureaucracy (after chasing round Berlin in a rather undignified manner due to a move of offices I knew nothing about) a lovely wander in the botanic garden with the boys. I feel a lot more upbeat, and am going to Sit Down And Think this weekrnd.

BBBee · 02/05/2008 21:01

if I eat wenselydale with cranberries in can I count the cranberries as a portion? I have eaten a lot of it.

FMF - is it a mug you have made or your favourtie mug or one you are hoping to sell at a car boot sale?

berolina · 02/05/2008 21:01

oh, I have my non-identifying email address:

petrovafossil at gmx dot de

bero and berolina were taken, I didn't want to add a number, and I was looking round for inspiration when my eye fell on 'Ballet Shoes'. Petrova was always my favourite, even though I wanted to be Pauline.

pinkspottywellies · 02/05/2008 21:05

How come everyone's got the photo and is sending it round???? Have you got my email from the meet up FMF? If you have can you send it to me please? [beseeching]

lullabyloo · 02/05/2008 21:10

I still want to seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and I want to know if Mrs C is ok

Boco · 02/05/2008 21:12

I do keep checking my phone, and have even unnecessarily charged it extra, just to make sure that the battery doesn't suddenly run out unexpectedly. But I do think she'll be feeling too ropey tonight. [pace, fret]

BBBee · 02/05/2008 21:39

I hope carrot is okay. My friend who had a similar procedure a few weeks ago was on kind of talking terms a day or so after. Incidently she had her results today and it is all clear so she feels wonderful.

stuffitllama · 02/05/2008 21:55

isn't balley shoes lully's favourite book?

she was going to read it to the bairns in the naked veggers commune

aren't there rules about having mobiles on in hospitals or am I hopelessly out of date

stuffitllama · 02/05/2008 21:56
