For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oooh congrats to littlerach and crh. Happy news all round!

Franny - I think you can still claim and not lose money irrc.

UR- oooh parties love them, did it go well? I hope so. give details pleeeease.

Don't know much about diabetes in chn I'm afraid only that it is sort of good to be diagnosd beacuse then with diet control and meds children can regain their energy and activity levels.

Thank you OB yes yes I have The Dress!!!!!

see here!!!] I'm a little excitable now.

S1ur · 03/05/2008 00:09

Hello ur and frayed.

Yes our evenings 'start' so late that we end up staying up too late just to spend time chatting without interuption.

UnderRated · 03/05/2008 02:31

I wanna see the mug too

Party was ok - lots of small children and cookies. Had a 'plant grass seeds in a cookie-cutter shape' activity as well as decorate your own cupcake (with frosting in a squirty can ). I had to leave early when another child pushed DS off the top of the slide. Again. Am feeling very cross and over protective but the same child always does things to DS and his mother never notices. 5 minutes before he had whacked DS in the face with a truck. I know DS is no saint but he didn't deserve that

I know nothing about diabetes, I'm afraid, although I have taught children with it and, if they stuck with the dietary restrictions, they were fine.

Slur, it is stunning. I want to get married again just to wear that.

If you do get a shrug or similar, only for if it's really chilly - the dress is too lovely.

Franny. Pain-reducing vibes. Might something like autogenic training help?

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2008 08:40

I don't know
does it involve me doing anything?
I want someone to come and fix my fanjo and I want it now

Pink, I can't remember your 'real' name...if you could give me an initial, I might find it? Or is your email ppink and spotty related?
Yesterday evening I made salad nicoise (sort of) and the salad had 4 different kinds of leaves, tomatoes, red onion, aduki beans, avacado, cucumber, peppers, mange toute, olives, as well as the tuna, new potatoes and egg. Dh ate it all and demanded more

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2008 09:18

Slur...you look beautiful

Mrs C...thinking of you lots

berolina · 03/05/2008 09:33

You sit and concenrate on parts of your body in turn and imagine/feel them getting warm and heavy. 'Tis essentially a relaxation technique but can help pain relief.

Fullmoonfiend · 03/05/2008 09:34

lully, lully, calm down dearest, it's only a mug

BBBee · 03/05/2008 09:36

i am wya behind and don;t really know what is going on apart from mrs C.

where is zippi?

TigerFeet · 03/05/2008 09:51

DH has been diabetic since he was small so fire away with questions... after the initial shock it is better to have a dx as you get the old person back. DH is now 40 and well controlled and whilst he has had the odd bad time of it on the whole you would never know there was anything wrong with him. People are generally shocked when they find out he has a condition. In the 30+ years he has had diabetes the care has really come on. In the olden days he had massive syringes and had to eat and inject like clockwork but nowadays he has a fast acting insulin that he can take whenever he eats so that he can eat what and when he likes and tailor his insulin to suit. He also has a long acting insulin once a day that gives him a base level of action.

He isn't here atm but he's always happy to answer questions

SLur that's a fablous dress and you are stunning, how exciting

Franny what a puta

Am enjoying looking at all the veggie FB profiles, any more for any more?

Branflakes with chopped dates this morning

Fullmoonfiend · 03/05/2008 10:27

oh thanks tiger feet, I will be seeing friend tomorrow so will get some questions from her too
I think at the moment she is in schock (understandably) and full of fear at her little boy having to have so many injections for ever and ever and eer etc. And though her rational side knows it's not her fault, she is criticising herself for every smartie he has ever eaten etc.

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2008 13:43

very sorry for your friend FMF
a nasty shock as you say

Lully I will email you!

the support belt was marvellous during sports job
plus replacement person v helpful as picks everything up etc and can demonstrate stretches
however
after I had done the 2 hours I sat down for a bit and the support belt started digging in a bit, so I took it off
everything felt AWFUL, like it was slowly and unpleasantly drifting awry
not sure if that is just what happens if you take the belt off, as it has been pulling everything together in the mean time, or whether (because the belt masked the pain while I was wearing it) I have overdone things

I really am sorry for being so tedious about this btw but no bugger in RL needs to hear me whinge on and at least you lot can skim it

I can't believe she has gone in for surgery and Not Contacted Us? Surely she should have asked the surgeon to log on and tell us about it the moment she came round from her GA? Or certainly asked him beforehand? I'm

Is Mr Carrot on info duty?
