For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hope you are feeling better OB

Toot - I have e-mailed you.

stuffitllama · 01/05/2008 17:45

more carrots
am starting to hate carrots

too many olives has a very unpleasant aromatic effect i've noticed

while we are on the subject of bottoms

stuffitllama · 01/05/2008 17:46
littlerach · 01/05/2008 18:10

Stuffitllama, it is a bit like FR, but scarier.
I joined because another friend was on there and kept nagging me.

I am one of the ones with 4 (actually 5) friends and is never poked.

And I have no photos on there.

Or anything interesting really.

Salad
Pear
Aubergine and tomato pasta leftopvers
Museli with apricots
Veg quiche

The weather is os horrid.
Dreary weather.

FrannyandZooey · 01/05/2008 18:37

No facebook here I think it is the work of the devil

Osmosis I hope you feel better?

I know it sounds hard to believe that one small yogurt would have such an effect on me (esp with everyone saying the active ingredients are useless, and I can well believe it) but I promise, it has happened 3 times now and it gives me nasty IBS symptoms that I never get at any other time

Right about this meet up
I think we may have to have a rain check
it may still go ahead but I think we need to see nearer the time how people are feeling etc
I know this will probably fuck people up who are trying to book trains and things
sorry but it does not seem to be working out quite as planned, I think I was being slightly headstrong about it - can we pencil it in for a possibility rather than book it for definite please?

ahundredtimes · 01/05/2008 18:46

Are you worried everyone will want to inspect this bottom they have heard so much about Fra?

Anyway, I think - as a non-attender - it is a good idea to rain check it. I couldn't organize anything months before my due dates for some reason.

The volley ball player. I don't know what dcs will think of her or of the whole arrangement. They will probably be violently opposed, they usually are.

I have eaten some apples. And some muesli. And a banana. Am keeping up my position at the bottom of the list manfully. I may go and ferret in the fridge for green beans, but don't hold your breath.

zippitippitoes · 01/05/2008 18:52

zippitippitoes · 01/05/2008 18:53

franny are you lying about being 36?

FrannyandZooey · 01/05/2008 18:55

am I lying about being 36? oh god no [paranoid] I know I do look older on a bad day but I am 36, honest
oh I might be 37
am I 37?
maybe I did lie

yes 100 maybe it was a nice idea but not so good to organise things a long way off
I know MrsC would also like more time to see how she is feeling
I would very much like to see everyone / anyone, could we just do it a bit more spur of the moment? I realise this might not work for everyone

zippitippitoes · 01/05/2008 18:56

YOU FOOL I THOUGHT YOU WERE YOUNGER THAN THAT I ASSUMED YOU WERE 30

UnderRated · 01/05/2008 18:56

Hope Franny's bottom is better. Isn't there something that will fix it?

OB, hope you are ok.

I do not fancy Robert Downey Jr

UnderRated · 01/05/2008 18:57

FrannyandZooey · 01/05/2008 18:58

hello

Sorry to all who are feeling ill, and glad you are feeling better, OB.

I avoid FB and similar like the plague too.

Salad left over from last night, OJ, mushrooms, spelt wheat burgers (from a ready mix, sadly, not homemade), scrambled egg with fried shallot, tomato and yellow pepper, fruit salad (melon, apple, banana).

FrannyandZooey · 01/05/2008 18:59

I am 36
probably
zippi you are lovely but I do NOT look younger than I am - skin totally whacked with drinking and smoking, no amount of lentils can reverse it

OP posts:
Boco · 01/05/2008 19:01

It's a bit of a funny time for everyone isn't it, spontaneous might be a better plan for now.

Having this skin biopsy on 23rd May and wondering what that actually entails. Not much i hope.

Have had a busy day and seem to be running two hours behind.

Boco · 01/05/2008 19:02

Franny you're body dysmorphic, you look young and your skin is youthful.

stuffitllama · 01/05/2008 19:02

oh dear boco skin biopsy?
can't talk but oh dear

little rach don't even know what fr is tho..

zippitippitoes · 01/05/2008 19:07

i dont know who r downey junior is

MrsCarrot · 01/05/2008 19:12

I am worried I have offended Toot by my guffawing at the mug. I was meant to laugh wasn't I? I mean, I am a carrot...

Boco - did the cream not work or were you always going to have the biopsy? I imagine they will numb and area and then do a punch biopsy with something lie an ear-peircing machine? It will be tiny I am sure.

I have had minestrone soup for dinner. I am trying to pack but I keep getting distracted. Do you think I should take some apples and celery or is that weird?

Fullmoonfiend · 01/05/2008 19:17

MrsC, you were supposed to guffaw, don't worry...

I think taking fruit in is a great idea as a) you don't know how long it will take for aneasthetic to wear off and you may not feel like eating anything proper for a while.
b) first day in hospital, you don't get a choice of what to eat so you can nibble on fruit
c) will help constipation
d) looks nice and wholesome...
e) er that's it.

We love you MrsC x

MrsCarrot · 01/05/2008 19:20

aw, thanks, FMV.

Yes, to apples. I am quite fussy about mine so it's probably best I take them. I like organic Elstars at the moment, don't want to be stuck with a dishwater granny smiths!

UnderRated · 01/05/2008 19:20

Yes, Mrc C - do take apples. Definitely. Thinking of you x

Zippi - are you going to play scrabble with me? I set up a game, I think.

littlerach · 01/05/2008 19:21

Stufft, I meant Friend Reunited

Yes to fruit, the food may be horrid, and yuo may want the fruit.

I have lots of itchy bumps on my legs. They are driving me a little mad. One of them is bleeding where I have scratched it.

FrannyandZooey · 01/05/2008 19:22

MrsC we have been POSL at the mug so I am sure you are allowed to as well
TooT is genius
yy take fruit and nuts and veg and dried fruit and so on
the food is pretty awful and really not suitable for a vegger
