For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco, it sounds wonderful. Well done for networking so brilliantly.

DS had a big strop when we left the park and in the struggle to get him to leave without too much of a scene, I lost one of my brand new, handmade earrings so am feeling quite cross I didn't realise I had lost it til I got home and walked back with someone who probably thinks I was trying to make some sort of bizzare alternative fashion statement.

Then, a guy in the elevator who knows my name (but I don't know his) asked me for my phone number so I gave it to him . Am now thinking it probably wasn't the best idea. But he's seen me looking all messy in ripped jeans and muddy jumpers with sand on my face whilst dealing with a stroppy toddler. And me only wearing 1 earring didn't seem to put him off today.

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 18:55

wow Boco you must have been on such a high!

Did people say nice things about your pictures? Were they for sale? Did you talk about them?

UR how nice for you I hope he's not a weirdo

Fullmoonfiend · 17/04/2008 19:00

om. My Word Boco!

Please can I have your autograph???

zippitippitoes · 17/04/2008 19:06

oh UR shame about the earring

interesting about the guy

my body has been trying to catch up with sleep first in the kwikfit office and now i have ben napping in bed since 4

eating bread seems to have added to the effect

UnderRated · 17/04/2008 19:37

Bread makes me sleepy too. Which is a shame because I like bread. And all stodgy foods really.

I don't know what to do about the man thing - I should know his name. He told me once and we have chatted a few times (rather awkwardly) but I forgot it and now it's gone on too long to ask him I don't think he's my type anyway.

FrannyandZooey · 17/04/2008 20:16

UR, is it nice to be asked, even if he is not the right person? I like it that he sees you muddy etc and likes you enough to ask you out

butternut squash, sweet potato, onion, mushroom, corn
grapes melon apple
actually 2 apples

ds going to the nature reserve for the day tomorrow - I am making him a packed lunch
I feel quite bereft - he is so excited about it
when did he get so grown up???

Zippi, sorry I know I'm really late coming into this but I just want to say that I think you're amazing to give all your different business ideas/hobbies etc a try. I will never start even one business because I would never a) have the right idea b) think I could do it or c) get my arse in gear! The fact that you have done all these things is a credit to you and your talents.

Amen sorry for being gushy!!

pinkspottywellies · 17/04/2008 20:24

Aw Franny! Hope he has a lovely time

I got 2 stickers for exercise yesterday I ran home from work at the sweet shop whereIatealltheprofit which is about 4/5 miles. I walked up the evil hill and for my warm up/cool down but jogged the rest [proud] then I went swimming and my friend and I swam for just over half an hour without stopping!! (Then went for an all you can eat Indian - and I can eat a lot!!)

F&V rubbish today - was still full this morning so didn't have breakfast, then went to MILs and had 2 portions. Baked beans and sweetcorn. I'm about to go and eat a pineapple though

Going to start a thread about dd breath holding. I'll link if anyone thinks they might have any pearls of wisdom.

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 21:21

I must stop cathartising about finger picking and report
raw carrots, carrots and broccoli, grapes, banana, dried apricots

pink.. i've read about breath-holding before, I think there was a previous thread

eternalstudent · 17/04/2008 21:21

I don't know about your DD but I find myself holding my breath all the time. Let me know your findings!!

zippitippitoes · 17/04/2008 21:25

and thank you pinkm for gushing everyone has said nice things which i dont think i actually deserve but id o love that you said them

UR what a shame you dont fancy him

but he might grow on you

eternalstudent · 17/04/2008 21:26

Grow on - like a fungus? Very 10/10.

pinkspottywellies · 17/04/2008 21:28

I think the breath-holding is fine (obviously not when she was standing up and hit her head on the floor ) but it's a coping mechanism. She gets too overwhelmed so she times out for a minute. Not ideal obviously but she's so young she doesn't know what else to do. I was always very calm, even the first time she did it. I guess that's because I knew I did it too - not that I want her to be like me!!

pinkspottywellies · 17/04/2008 21:29

Oh I had a title thought...

It's a Pink song but could be butchered to make any party reference:

'I'm coming up so you better get this parsley started!'

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 21:45

It's my parsley and I'll fry if I want to?

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 21:46

praps not
very nice pink
sorry you are so stressed franny

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 21:48

Little green courgette you're gonna need a love to last

anorak · 17/04/2008 21:51

Hello all, I am popping in for some advice please. I accidentally bought spirulina powder instead of the tablets and I'm finding it hard to make it palatable. If I try to stir it into fruit juice or water it goes all lumpy and yucky. I can't make soup every day.

Does anyone know how it's supposed to be taken? (No information on the label). Thanks for any suggestions.

eternalstudent · 17/04/2008 21:52

She wore a raspberry sorbet

eternalstudent · 17/04/2008 21:52

Can you stir it into other saucy things? Maybe a rice dish or stir fry or summat?

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 21:52

are you allowed to cook it.. can you put it into a ratatouille or bolognaise
stupid idea?
