For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It makes everything go a really intense dark green colour and adds a not unpleasant but a bit pervasive flavour. I couldn't keep eating everything like that. I need a way of taking it in something small.

zippitippitoes · 17/04/2008 22:30

what about making it into panckes can you cook it

like spinach pancakes or canelloni

anorak · 17/04/2008 22:33

zippi I could but I can't make those things every day - I need something quick and simple so I can just take it in the morning and be done with it.

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 22:34

I really want to see too Boco..can you tell us what you create? Does everyone already know?

Is it paintings, sculpture?

anorak.. have you tried making it into a paste first with a little (warm?) water, as one does with flour, then adding more water to make a drink.. that way you wouldn't get the lumps

zippitippitoes · 17/04/2008 22:34

i dont know can you drink it how much do you have to make

mango and spirulina smoothie

zippitippitoes · 17/04/2008 22:35

franny is the expert she is probably asleep

stuffitllama · 17/04/2008 22:37

but we are have a go heroes zippi
we can do this if we all hold hands and think

anorak · 17/04/2008 22:45

LOL

Yes I have tried the hot water thing but it still goes lumpy. You're right franny will probably know.

She is the oracle.

BBBee · 17/04/2008 23:15

no pink!

LAST MANGO IN PARIS

BBBee · 17/04/2008 23:17

stuffit - boco is shy because she does that body painting thing on nude bodies to look like clothes. she did me on the meet up and people could hardly tell!

UnderRated · 18/04/2008 01:02

Yes, we did agree Last Mango In Paris

Comparing the Elevator Man to fungus is not actually helping! But I suppose he may grow on me The thing is, I don't know if I want him too. He sort of accosted me in the lift and I was taken by surprise. He has called me twice already but didn't leave a message.

Anorak, can you blend it with something? Most powdery lumpy things can be fixed with a blender.

F&V:raisins, a portobello and one mango that had a helpful little sticker on it stating,

"Mango
Ripe when soft"

What it should have said is: Mango. Even when bright yellow, squishy and seemingly overripe may well be hard and cunting inside. I wonder if mangoes from one country are better than ones from others? I used to have a preference for certain bananas.

I need to not eat eggs. I have just realised that although I buy Free Range ones, there is no such thing in the US

UnderRated · 18/04/2008 01:06

And I'm sure you all want to know that I finally have my period [relief]

S1ur · 18/04/2008 01:12

I've been a bit slack on here sorry. I'm finding it a bit difficult today because I have so little to report and thus feel shamed and awkward sticking my head in here.

But I'm hoping by leaving the door ajar I might be able to be guilt - tripped reminded to eat better.

Plus I like to keep touch with the veggers generally, you're alright you lot

Anyway.

Usual stuff, bit of salad, lots of carbs, childrens fruit.

Boco that is fab! I'm pleased it went swimmingly for you, you sleb you. I too want to see examples of work and will mail you.

S1ur · 18/04/2008 01:13

Cheers and applause for UR's menstruation.

Do you want a dark towel?

UnderRated · 18/04/2008 01:20

Why, thank you Slur!

No need to be ashamed - most of the conversation seems to be about everything other than F&V. Until Franny starts a bootcamp again. Then we'll all be in trouble anyway. Safety in numbers, I say

UnderRated · 18/04/2008 01:40

That thread is rather interesting, isn't it?

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2008 08:01

am delighted lots of people are on the rag
well done menstruating veggers

I am guessing about the spirulina but I am not sure if it makes a difference to heat it? I know some of them are a bit delicate. I will ask glowy lady

I think I would try putting it in small amount of juice and whizzing it with a hand blender to see if that stopped the lumpiness

pear, banana, raisins, melon, grapes = 4

eternalstudent · 18/04/2008 09:07

Why do you all put fmv for fullmoonfiend? Is the 'fiend' bit a new addition?

I am quite nosy btw, in case that isn't obvious already.

zippitippitoes · 18/04/2008 09:11
