For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Bicarb usually shifts it after a few attempts Mrs C
I hate white bread & so does ds
It's all dh will eat tho..the really cheap pappy stuff

The mother of these little ones says they eat no veg or fruit, only chocolate sandwiches, chicken nuggets or spaghetti hoops on toast,or hot dogs

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 17:59

eeek! And I thought my two were picky little blighters!

lullabyloo · 15/04/2008 17:59

We bought delicious bread at Judges Bakery in Hastings yesterday...gorgeous shop
( I think ds has eaten most of it on his making sandwich fest)
Also really lovely gingerbread teddies that were really gingery not sickly sweet & heavenly chocolate brownies

we had a take away cream tea with enormous warm fruit scones & ate them on the beach...I did want a red gingham cloth tho..

lullabyloo · 15/04/2008 18:01

lol fmf
that sounds good

ds is having roasted vegetable rissoto with celery, avocado, tomato, cucumber, beetroot, feta salad

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 18:20

good god if I had a bakery like that near me I would be 20 stone
really nice bread and cakes and bakes are my absolute heaven but most of what you get in the supermarket and in chain bakers are so shite

Lully I sometimes make the bases, a wholemeal scone base which ds is not v fond of
when dp at home he makes proper Italian ones in the breadmaker
sometimes I buy these which although a bit cardboardy at least don't have too much crap in them
and today I was very frivolous and put them on toasted English muffins which ds was in raptures about
he LOVES white bread
despite brainwashing and stomach washing since birth

salad: spinach, lettuce, basil, cucumber, red pepper
pizza sauce: tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, kidney beans
going to have some fruit and yoghurt in a bit

back is loads better again
I don't mind if it keeps hurting and then I can rest or exercise and make it better
but every time it gets uncomfortable I think I am going to be in pain for the next 2 months like I was with ds
sorry but I think that's why I keep banging on about it

I'm not sure whether I approve of that Bbbbeeee. Explain yersel. I'm not Bristolian. No no no. But then, very few of us round these parts are.

Went to Bath today (to hunt the lesser spotted Franny). My my those folk dress their kids funny. I am sunburnt from sitting in Victoria Park eying up carnival types, yet I saw many Bathlings in woolly hats and kintted PONHOS!!!!!

Also, the chavs in Bath are much better looking than Briz ones. Much less Gode hoopage round the ears and far fewer lard asses. Bravo.

UnderRated · 15/04/2008 18:23

Lully, the more you say about your DH, the more I wonder how you got together. I don't envy you, having to provide for small fussy people. I like the bread and cheese idea.

I'd suggest bicarb for burnt on stuff too. Or salt and a good scrub.

I had a surprisingly good red cabbage soup for lunch. It sounded like a good idea when I made it but I was dreading it all morning. I mean, who wants to eat cabbage soup? But it was yummy. We called it Pink Soup and DS ate loads.

eternalstudent · 15/04/2008 18:24

obviously - PONCHO'S

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 18:27

Lully do you think they might try something like fruit dipped in a chocolate fondue?
and for the main course I would just do tiny little sandwiches with different fillings - or maybe pinwheel wraps so they look very pretty
sorry that is not really very healthy by your standards but maybe would be better than nuggets and I think they might like to try it
if it had to be a cooked meal I would do homemade pizza, definitely
or something like scrambled eggs and baked beans and toast - is that really rubbishy?

LL food by the beach sounds lovely

i gardened this morning whic was lovely it was sunny and i enjoyed it a lot

i went to the gum clinic this afternoon and the rain was freezing and i enjopyed it not at all..omg how embarrassing is that..i'm not sure which bit is worst the intimate questionnaire or the two docs and nurse looking and poking up you with feet in stirrups

i think i must have been the deepest shade of beetroot i have ever been my face just got hotter and hotter

and she took blood and asked if i had a needle phobia so i said yes

so then she said oh i have cokced this uop badly how reassuring there is a big bubble she says and it has twisted

zippi tries not to throw up

and it bloody hurts

grimola

that probably wasnt a very ten ten part but i thought you would want to share lol

i am baking some bread with nuts and seeds but only white flour i dont actually knoiw why i have whiote flour i should have bought some brown while i was out

ahundredtimes · 15/04/2008 18:27

[bows to ES wearing wooly hat]

I might skip puppy class tonight. What do you think? It goes on a bit, and the man is a bit vague and I keep finishing his sentences in an annoying way, but I can't help it because I wish he'd just Get On With It.

How is everyone? Is Boco dressed yet?

ahundredtimes · 15/04/2008 18:29

DIY pizza's Lully. A big hit every time. Buy the pizza base, tomato sauce - then lay out bits of ham, mushrooms, loads of cheese, mozzarella cheese etc, and they pile it on AND they always eat it.

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 18:29

oh god did you really get sunburnt? ds and his friend were out most of the afternoon and I kept thinking 'should he have sun cream on?'
his hair covers quite a lot and they had long sleeves etc - hoppefully was ok. I am a bit ott about sun cream usually so will probably get caught out this year

I am so not from Bath! Bath is all yummy and cultured isn't it? I am NOT, sadly or luckily, take your pick

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 15/04/2008 18:30

Boco is there I think. I hope she is dressed.

UnderRated · 15/04/2008 18:30

ponchos [pedant]

Beans on toast is a good idea too. And little sandwiches.

ahundredtimes · 15/04/2008 18:31

Bet she's not. Bet she just gave up and went in her pants.

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2008 18:31

i was thinking about sunburn this morning

i amthinking this gardening lark is going to lead to sunburn issues i could feel it really hot on my lower back and builders bum at one point

and i havent looked on my face but i did catch the sun last week

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 18:32

oh zippi poor you
I don't want to be totally rude in prying but was it just a check up or is there Something Wrong?
I am ex patron of GUM clinic - I had a regular weekly appointment for about half a year
fucking cunting shithead bastard screwing around warty arseholes

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 15/04/2008 18:33

It would be funny if she drew on her pants

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 18:33

just realised warty arseholes was probably TMI no matter how appropriate
I meant the person who gave them to me

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 18:33

oh like those body paint people that are naked and look dressed? why didn't we suggest that?

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 15/04/2008 18:33

I mean, actually painted on pants rather than scribbling on her own

Zippi - that sounds horrible

UnderRated · 15/04/2008 18:34

How is JJ doing with the classes, 100? Is he good enough to miss a few? Sounds rather dull to me. But what about the man in the yellow jumper?
