For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

is there one that you stay in a little longer than the rest, doing an extra twirl and you start imagining talking to people in it? Then you look at something else and think maybe that but you don't keep it on as long?

BBBee · 15/04/2008 13:33

Just been catching up while dd is asleep and just as I'm ready to post she's waking up!!

Dressfest sounds fun Boco. Can you wear several - change between courses like the presenters at the oscars/children in need

Does anyone know how long my parsnip and spring onion seeds will take to show themselves? I have little shoots of radishes and lettuce. Yay!

Franny/MrsC - how far is Franny from Norwich? I might be able to combine picnic with visit to my sister. Unless it's the weekend of the 18th because that's when my Race for Life is.

Must go she's properly awake now!

Oh last thing thanks for backing me up over 1 bacon sandwich and my place on The List Franny but to be fair it might have been more than one bacon sandwich!!

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 15:57

eek - 5 hour train journey here too!

lullabyloo · 15/04/2008 16:06

Perhaps we need to rent a house for a weekend

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 16:06

now you're talking....!

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 16:26

things arrived from Uttam. Strangely the grey one with pink spirals is ace and the green one is bvery odd styling Make me look like an overgrown toddler with huge puffy shoulders...Lovely fabric though. Can I be bothered to trek a mile to post office to return or shall I see if my mother can butcher it into more wearable?

FrayedKnot · 15/04/2008 16:26

Hello

Ooh Boco have a lovely time. I agree about changing dresses every hour like a Diva.

Friend sounds like she has a v. glamorous life

Franny's park is approximately 1hr42 mins from my house

Depending on dates I could come

'Tis a great pity we are so spread out, but I do very mcuh fancy teh Azores another time

I am off to Suffolk tonight to a work conference

Think of me in the rush hour on the M25 tonight

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 16:30

good luck tonight Boco...full report please!

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 16:31

yes come and rent a big mansion next to me
and let me come and stay in it and cook my dinners and stuff

Pink it is about 50 m I think - quite a good train journey if you were coming by train

I think maybe we would aim for the weekend after your race? I'll have finished work by then and MrsC will hopefully be up for a trip

have had nice afternoon, back is crap though

have made vast amounts of pizza sauce

God I feel lazy today
The day has shot by & all I've done is clean the kitchen

Ds has had a marvellous time having tea parties in his
wigwam, making a hundred small animals teeny sandwiches
I havn't heard a peep out of him for two hrs

Really should have gone out as it's glorious
but feel rather lousy
at least we did loads yesterday

lullabyloo · 15/04/2008 17:03

do you make or buy the pizza bases franny?

I have small very un 10/10 folk for lunch on Thurs & have no idea what to give them

I refuse to buy nuggets, chocolate spread, white bread or spaghetti hoops

lullabyloo · 15/04/2008 17:04

My leg is such a trunk today,I cant even get my pumps on

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 17:21

Hi Lully, I always find home-made pizza goes down well with even the fussiest eaters. But Napolina do perfectly good pizza bases if you want to cut back on hassle.

MrsCarrot · 15/04/2008 17:26

LL - could you do a selection of foods that they can help themselves to? Different breads and crackers with cheese and veg and dips are always popular then people can just have bread and cheese if they like. Would you never buy white bread, even a big doughy organic crusty loaf to have thickly spread with organic butter. Mmm, I feel hungry at the thought.

We are going out for a friends birthday tonight. It is at a southern Indian restaurant, apparently the food is completely different and like you might actually find in India which sounds nice.

MrsCarrot · 15/04/2008 17:32

I have done bad things to the mothership. I tried to do braised red cabbage on the hob on sunday to save time and it burnt. There is a thick layer of black burnt sugar on the bottom that won't budge despite numerous boiling soaks. Any tips?
