For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I don't think we could manage Essex

S1ur · 14/04/2008 22:21

Ha ha. Yes. good, tis all in the presentation methinks.

I did alright though and ds ate enormous amounts of avocado and both of them ate mushrooms, possibly because they couldn't tell the difference between that and anything else in my overcooked decided creamy looking rissotto.

x

TooTicky · 14/04/2008 22:29

Good god no, we can't do Essex. Journey time between 3.5 and 9 hours by train and cheapest fare £77ish.

S1ur · 14/04/2008 22:29

I picture us moving the veggers to a little island being served fresh fruit salad and cocktails (non-alcoholic for those who wish) while we absorb just the right amount of vitamin D before going for a quick dip in beautiful blue seas to satisfy our exercise requirements.

Our children would of course frolic naked and care-free in the sand only stopping to ask for more yummy exotic vegetables.

zippitippitoes · 14/04/2008 22:31

i expect my house is the epicentre

TooTicky · 14/04/2008 22:33

Okay Zip, when do you want us?

zippitippitoes · 14/04/2008 22:33

lol i would love you but you would freak at my house

TooTicky · 14/04/2008 22:36

Bet yours isn't as freaky as ours. Yours is a work in progress, ours is unjustifiable chaos

zippitippitoes · 14/04/2008 22:37

think that is quite charitable i have been in my own house for 8 years

Night Avi

Sorry Zippi, am I confused? Are you not working on your house? Or is that the other house?

UnderRated · 15/04/2008 02:20

So, we're having a meet-up in the Azores then? Excellent. I'll be there.

I grew up in East Herts and spent lots of time in East Angular when I was a young'un.

Cannot possibly list my F&V or 26 thing because I came to workl where there were cookies and cake and stuff. I did have a big salad before I scoffed too much cake

UnderRated · 15/04/2008 03:58

I did a 30 minute run and some weights

I have actually quite enjoyed this exercise malarky. I know I've only done it 3 times, but that's quite an achievement for me.
