For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

it was a title suggestion not a surreal moment. All my posts come up twice at the moment for some reason.

BBBee · 13/04/2008 03:52

except that one...?

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 04:19

BBBeee- go to bed.

I love Last Mango in Paris.

I had 'Shiny Happy Peapods laughing' but that sounds a bit deranged

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2008 08:27

Morning squeaky guts

Zippi - does eating local honey help?

Lully - why is he deaf, is this to do with the immune thing?

What a lovely day. I feel like walking a very long way and then eating a roast at the end of it.

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:18

local honey? i wonder where i would get that is that what you are supposed to do

maybe ryton gardens would sell it

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:21

He has had two consecutive ear infections Mrs C
loads of discharge,but no pain
Cant hear & damned thing

what? What? WHAAAAT?
has now turned into Whatto? ( for some reason, probably the fact that I drummed pardon into the equation because I hate WHaT & ds answered that he hates the word Pardon)

So Whatto it is

MrsCarrot · 13/04/2008 09:22

You are all very poetic this morning, dovetailing and whirling silver!

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:23

oh franny ,
You might have a permanent lodger if you attack him with the aubergine like that

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 09:24

i have a lovely sink

copper one on oiron stand and expensive antique copper taps for bath and basin now joining extensive ranks of things which are desirable but i dont know what to do with them

the basin would make a nice garden feature or possibly i could go mad and use it in the utility room

i turned to wash my face with cold water in the bath last night and realised i could in fact use the sink

MrsCarrot · 13/04/2008 09:29

yes, I think local honey is meant to be good for hayfever and stuff. They often have it in the greengrocers or at farmer's markets. That reminds me, there is one here today I might go and get a chicken.

Lully - that sounds more like glue ear, wouldn't discharge from an ear infection mean a
burst eardrum? I can't see how that wouldn't be painful. The CO is usually quite good with that sort of thing, did you discuss that?

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:30

our sink is a pain
It's a massive limestone thing, but water pools around the plug & stains it green

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 09:33

LL that happened with the coper one there was always a puddle of water in it apart from the fact that being copper it goes green anyway which most people dont apparently like when they are cleaning their teeth

but the cold tap was taken off about two years ago cos the washer went

and it wouldnt turn off and the washers on the other taps had more or less gone too

nice idea of mine but totallly impractical

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:34

I know Mrs C..I dont understand
I suffered from terrible, painful ear infections all my childhood.
A burst eardrum is excruciating.
Ds says his ears do not hurt at all,or his throat.
CO said his tonsils were inflamed, all gland swollen, ears red & inflamed, eyes oozing
Ds says he feels very well, but his eyes are crunchy & annoying him

MrsCarrot · 13/04/2008 09:36

hmm, perhaps it's just general upper respiratory viral gunk?

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:39

I laughed because when ds is poorly I feel very low
This constant 6m of illness has left me despairing & feeling something is very wrong & that I am doing something hopelessly wrong

CO smiled at me when I was leaving & said despite obvious poorliness atm,ds was one of the healthiest children he had seen in a long while .

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 09:40

well,that's what the dr said
The remedies he is taking, combined with the CO will hopefully draw everything out
