For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

phew! After an hour and a half on the phone doing constant redail, have secured tickets for Solfest (in August, in cumbria, will be our summer holiday

pinkspottywellies · 07/04/2008 12:45

I'm not really here but thanks for giving UR the podcasts and you should join the beginners running thread here.

And we got dd's head caught in the tube doors after the meet in November. She was in a rucksack type carrier and dh didn't realise there was such a curve to the door and he was standing upright so assumed she was clear. Alas not. Although I say caught, she wasn't actually squashed between them - I noticed in time and grabbed him forward but she did get a pretty sound wallop to her tiny little head and there was very little we could do cause there was no space or time to get her out of the carrier so I just had to pat her until we had to get off.

I am supposed to be cleaning before the visitors arrive so if you see me lurking this afternoon shout at me!!

TooTicky · 07/04/2008 13:03

Pink, how horrid Ds2 once got trapped in a tube door - scary!

You know that Betterware shit I was doing? Complete and utter waste of time. Have just had an inland revenue letter saying,

How dare you try to work and earn money? Get back on the shit heap at once. Oh, and by the way, you owe us £26 odd NI contributions plus £26 odd arrears that we didn't actually bother to tell you about because we hate you.

Well, that was the gist of it.
I only actually earned £263 in 4 months anyway.
Why am I so useless?

eternalstudent · 07/04/2008 13:12

Just been to a punk funeral. Needless to say he died of alcoholism. Not sure why everyone was so drunk there.... He is the 3rd since Sept. Dark times.

IR are wastrel bums TooT. You try to be helpful and they bite you.

Is it wrong to ring the IR about the gathering hordes of Romanians trying to smash clean my windscreen at roundabouts? Is that being NIMBY? They are very aggressive.

TooTicky · 07/04/2008 13:19

If they are aggressive then that is wrong. Intimidation is not allowed.

Oh, I am feeling rather woeful today.

eternalstudent · 07/04/2008 13:36

Weather here is fierce. Hailstones the size of..... hailstones I guess. No way I can leave the sofa to pay council tax now...

TooTicky · 07/04/2008 13:39

We have sun but it is blimming freezing. Odd hints of hail too.

Erm, there isn't actually an opportunity yet. I'm just hopeful. Dd2 doesn't start school for another year and a bit and I so much don't want to actually leave her. Am hoping an opportunity will arise when she does start. Must find something I can do in the meantime however. Unless dp suddenly starts selling a lot more mugs.

TooTicky · 07/04/2008 14:24

Hopefully, I will be looking after my friend's baby 2 days a week from mid July, so that will help. Why are there not more small child compatible jobs?

UnderRated · 07/04/2008 15:11

Hello

No time to read, just posting now so I can find it easily later.

Hope everyone is ok.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/04/2008 15:45

Hello - briefly posting like UR

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 15:50

Oh TooT - you know I have always found the IR extremely helpful and kind whenever I have fucked up completely had problems, so I never quite get when people say they are bastards
did you want to pay NI for the period you were self-employed? Because you could get a small earnings exception certificate and not pay anything - I don't know if they will be able to backdate it for you but they have done so for me in the past - if they can help, they usually will I have found. Just be honest and say you have mucked up and can they do anything?

Avi I was wondering tbh, but thought you might have had a sudden interest in the Smiths and I didn't want to make any surprised remarks and put you off

does MrAvi often post on here without us knowing?

Waves to swiftly departing UR and Idris.

Hello all, been rather lacklustre in the eating well department of late. But have sorted myself out with retail therapy, I have shoes, pretty shoes and fab boots for teeny prices so am happy. (and shallow )

Therefore today I have been more motivated and had blueberries, salad, grape and plum fruit salad and mushrooms. Probably about 5 or 6 portions. I really should go running but I haven't been for days and am finding hard to get past that can't be arsed to get out the door feeling.

Sorry to hear your tough time Toot, child compatible jobs are few and far between, even TA positions probably require some juggling before and after school. So long as you don't mind never seeing dp or sleeping you could do nights?
