For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

well i have my fingers crossed for ds tho the trouble is he might be doing it because this guy is someone he likes

im not sure how old he is but ds always seems to want a male figure role model something to do with his dad being such a crap and constant disappointment

i dont think he is actually much older than ds i am going to meet him this weekend as they are going to do some work on my own house i think

i dont know how hard ds will find the theory tho...he is so poor with classroom stuff and organisation but this guy does sound as tho he has his head srewed on he is ambitious

and ds dad thinks it is a good thing

at least he doesnt have any issues about the huge cost of ds education and plumbing

UnderRated · 11/04/2008 19:52

It sounds like it could be good for your DS, zip. The job and the role model. I know someone who failed their plumbing exams 3 times so went on the be a plasterer. But, I am sure if your DS enjoys the work and is good at it, the theory side of it will be no trouble.

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 19:56

Boco - you know we are all longing to know what it is now! The only thing that would have made me a little ew (but only as in poor you) would have been scabies but that is infectious so must be another thing. Hope it gets sorted anyway.

We saw the paediactric dietician again today and ds2 will have a full allergy screening now. It is getting silly, we never know what sets it off and he is leaking from everywhere with dreadful excema.

I have had brown rice with dahl and purple sprouting broccoli but accompanied it with prossecco and had chocolate after so am not too virtuous.

FrayedKnot · 11/04/2008 20:03

Evening dear veggers

This is my first moment of sitting down and chilling today

Lol at your story about dgs zippi

I have top fmf I thnk both lovely but I know what you mean about wearing bright stuff and then not wearing it

Franny I always liked the mat stuff in JoJo Maman Bebe have you looked? You could sell it on afterwards..

I am very pleased my seeds have all germinated and the tomatoes are growing amazingly fast

DH & DS have been digging the veg bed this afternoon in readiness

Meanwhile I have been at work when I wasn;t supposed to be ..I had to go out to an appointment then went back itno the office to do some social club stuff and everyone descended on me with mega urgent stuff and I had to stay until 5.30 and be sustained with minstrels and jelly babies

I have had a fair bit of f&v too though

pinkspottywellies · 11/04/2008 20:05

Help! I am eating appaulingly! I have been shopping today so have plenty of f&v in but just need to get eating it! I'm just trying to go running but I just plugged my iPod in and it says I need to reinstall. Which is no excuse really. I should just get out there. But I've been a bit slack and need to wean myself back on!

FMF I can see you in the green top rather than the pink.

Hiya everyone

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:11

wel ds and plumber who is quite young i think are here

plumber says i have good taste and rtealy likes myb weird bathrom with copper taps and sink

the fact that copper sink is impossible to clean and taps wont turn off properly so no cold tap on sink didnt sem to matter

so he said why not keep oit is good stuff

i said yes well the antique tapes and cobbled together sink and specialy made iron stand did cost a lot but are actaully crap

so i wavered

but he is going to change it

NOW

they ahve started

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:14

Zippi, that post was cod quality

PSW - I need running boot camp too, when will you start again, I will try and do it at the same time.

UnderRated · 11/04/2008 20:15

Poor baby carrot

FK, did you sow your tomato seeds inside? I have a packet of nondescript tomato seeds but haven't done anything with them yet. Still don't have an allotment though so probably best waiting to find out if/ when I may get one.I am not good at being patient.

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:16

Do you know, I have drunk nothing all week and tonight, when I share a bottle with DH, I feel as if I have just had a cup of tea, nothing more. I could have it again easily. What a cheat.

FrayedKnot · 11/04/2008 20:24

Yes UR, my seeds are all in trays on the kitchen windowsill

Next step will be to pot them on and put in conservatory

Then harden off and plant outside - tomatoes, aubergines, basil and strawbs will be in containers on patio, celeriac will go in in veg bed. Things that get sown directly into ground will be carrots, chard, and some salad leaves, later on.

Sorry to hear about DS MrsC...

FMF i used to miss periods all the time..it was more unusual for me to have one than not. Now something has changed and I am v. regular. But I assume that the opposite can also happen and women with normal hormones unlike mine might get more irregulalr as they get to a certain age.

pinkspottywellies · 11/04/2008 20:31

MrsC can you go tomorrow? I wanted to go tonight so I could go on Sunday too but it's not happening! I'll go tomorrow and then get back on track from Monday. I don't get what my iPod's doing Confused

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:34

oh dont mention cod in the context of my posts it makes her really cross cos sometimes when i change my name people think i am she

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:35

no, it's good news about DS, he has been leaky since a few weeks old, no we will have a better idea of causes and if it's not dairy then bring on the cheese! I think it will be though.

PSW - I will try very hard indeed to go tomorrow.

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:36

i am quite excited at the prospect of having a garden again one day in the future

i havent had one for 9 years nearly

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:36

zippi - are there spelling patents, I avhe not noticed.

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:37

gardens are lovely but weeding is boring

Boco · 11/04/2008 20:41

weeding at gardening club is not boring. You have to dodge worms hurled at you by 7 year olds and have earnest boys explain that centipedes are actually named after centimetres because that is exactly how long they are. It's quite fun.

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:43

worms are good, bamboo is not. Is it a rhizone? My god that stuff is hard to get rid of. There are shards of it through the soil that can pierce plastic.

MrsCarrot · 11/04/2008 20:44

I like tall pretty bamboo but I do not want it for a lawn. Makes for spiky sunbathing.

UnderRated · 11/04/2008 20:44

I quite like weeding. But then I'm very dull.

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:44

oh i quite like weeding which is fortunate as i have now got myself a jo b doing it

well on mn unspelling is patented appraentley

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:45

lol

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:45

i love sunchronsisyt

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:45

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 20:46
