For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I had a marvellous cranial osteopath when I was pregnant, he really helped me before and after, checks their heads post birth too.

I am going to have a Shiatsu in a bit, and then we have to go and see a man at the CO-OP about life insurance, which, believe it or not, we were sorting out before all of this and now I imagine the premiums will be altered.

Then I am going to buy vegi sushi from pret. I am having withdrawal symptoms.

Ds2 was a bit better last night, not great but better. I am craving a coffee now though.

TigerFeet · 10/04/2008 10:55

Hurrah for the successful mooncup

Happy birthday miniFranny

Caffeine craving is unpleasant isn't it? I am a coffee and diet coke addict, does me no good at all, but I can't wean myself off them.

I will sticj with it I think it is soon enough for it to not be the unpleasant side effects, only started drinking it again last week. I want one, a lot, but I don't feel ill.

lullabyloo · 10/04/2008 11:02

Happy Birthday Avi

oooooooh mrs C you have a pret near you {envy]
eat some for me too

Tatties · 10/04/2008 11:58

Ooh happy birthday to Avi and Franny's ds!

MrsC I LOVE pret veggie sushi. In fact one of the reasons I want to move is because we haven't got a pret here

Today I am being not at all patient and ds is driving me up the walls

stuffitllama · 10/04/2008 12:01

Happy Birthday Avi
are you ahem years old
and to Franny's five year old
I agree Mrs C about cranial osteopaths

hello all

Tiger you must give up diet coke it is bad for you beyond belief (if I've got the hang of it I am now being Anne?) It is so so so bad for you

two almond croissants, I know nut fondant doesn't count but I just want to make you jealous

did you see the news about additives? it's good if they're finally going to ban them rather than just advise about them

zippitippitoes · 10/04/2008 12:04

oh i have to keep trying to not have cofffee if i drink coffee in the day i want more of it and then i want wine in the evening they seem inextricably linked in an uppers and downers way

happy birthday avi are you doing something nice did you get presents?

Tatties · 10/04/2008 12:08

Dp made a big pot of coffee the other weekend and I didn't have any as I was headachey, but it smelled so strong I felt the effects as though I had been drinking it. I like coffee occasionally but often find it smells better than it tastes. I like pret coffee

lullabyloo · 10/04/2008 12:32

I hate coffee & coke
But now dp has given up on the beer & wine & gin & whisky
they are all he drinks
diet coke on an empty stomach at 5.30am

I am an earl grey addict

All this talk of cranial osteopaths made me remember the fabulous man I took ds to as a newborn. We are seeing him tomorrow.

TigerFeet · 10/04/2008 12:39

Anne Stuffit I know you are right

But tell me all about how it is bad for me

I would love to get rid of it tbh

TigerFeet · 10/04/2008 12:41
stuffitllama · 10/04/2008 12:45

Hi Tiger

most diet coke is sweetened with aspartame

it's a controversy but it's good enough for me to ban it from our house

stuffitllama · 10/04/2008 12:45

there is one "splenda" version which is sweetened with another artifical sweetener but I don't know what it's marketed under

stuffitllama · 10/04/2008 12:46

am going to try to get my wii power unit mended

without a receipt, under guarantee

what are my chances

TigerFeet · 10/04/2008 13:17

I am such a hypocrite - I won't buy anything with artificial sweetener in for dd but I drink gallons of the stuff myself. DH is diabetic and drinks all sorts with aspartame in. He doesn't need to, he could drink tea or water instead, but he isn't to bothered about this sort of thing - actually I think that he thinks I am a mad lentil weaver who is getting more lentil weavery by the day which is probably true. Therefore he is happy to drink it, it's always in the house and so I drink it.

DD drinks fruit juice, squash with no additives, water and milk. DH and I drink all sorts of shite.

Where did you buy your wii from? Be extremely persistant and annoying - always works for me

zippitippitoes · 10/04/2008 13:21

i fully believe aspartame is the devils work but i still drink diet coke

especially that pump wank you get in pubs

i wouldnt let kids have it tho

FrannyandZooey · 10/04/2008 13:25

God Avi I am so rubbish at remembering it is also your birthday
have a wonderful day and have some mango cake (guaranteed non cunting)
and some flowers
and somewhere to have a nice lie down

am waiting for ds and dp to get back from swimming. I went to exercise class - v good - back felt good - but stiffening up again now I am sitting down (and yes I am at the dining room table)

ds has new swimming goggles so he can dive underwater like a duck - his swimming trunks have a yellow flash on the back so all you see is a little yellow bottom bobbing up - so nice

2 satsumas
have made salad for lunch: spinach, tomato, cucumber, chickpea, red pepper

Oh Franny I forgot to say I am of course at the title...

stuffitllama · 10/04/2008 14:15

wow huge lolling at lentil weavery, being annoying, pump wank and non cunting mango cake

no luck with the wii i couldn't even get to the shop due to road works. So that was a well spent hour and a half
