For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Very cool boat

TigerFeet · 09/04/2008 20:11

By all means Slur, nominate away

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 20:12

And I use a mooncup.

Definitely second quote of the week.

FrayedKnot · 09/04/2008 20:19

I want to know:

If zippi has spoken to bf since UC and what we all thoguht of him

Where 100 is

Whether BBBee has eaten any fruit

How Sauerkraut is

What has happenend to Possum

And probably lots of other things as well

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 20:23

100x is away for a week I think.

Possum is super busy.

Don't know abvout Sauerkraut - think ahe lurks sometimes - I have her email address somewhere.

Boco · 09/04/2008 20:30

100 was asking for advice on glamorous venues earlier, but I don't know where she was asking from.

Lovely boat Franny, it looks great!

Mooncups rule. I have converted 3 people so far from round here and they all love it too. It's a life changing little goblet. Only friend who tried and hated it - I was at her house in London and saw it on the side and she hadn't cut the stalk off so no wonder. I tried to re-educate her but she was throwing up from alcohol abuse and not receptive to my mooncup evangelising.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 20:36

100x is on MN now - just spotted her. Quick, put your mooncups away and she may pop in.

ahundredtimes · 09/04/2008 20:43

Ahah I have found you. Am back! And you are all here up to your elbows in mooncups. Filthy.

My news is that DS1 just passed his music exam. He has a certificate. It says Fluke at the top in big red letters.

How are you all? Shall I read the thread? Is it all mooncups and moaning?

MrsCarrot · 09/04/2008 20:49

I have moaned quite a bit but everyone has been very patient. Where have you been? I went to herefordshire which was great apart from losing the car key in a bush.

TigerFeet · 09/04/2008 20:49

pretty much 100x yes - with some boating in there too

ahundredtimes · 09/04/2008 20:52

Boating! How delightful.

MrsC you have a moaning allowance. I am going to give it to you, laminated and embossed with purple writing.

Anyone else wanting a moan can apply for a licence. [Anne power-crazed in a government ministry emoticon]

I have been to Suffolk. It snowed.

MrsCarrot · 09/04/2008 20:54

lol at moaning allowance, that might wear thin.

how funny you were in the east and I was in the west. Was it Southwold?

ahundredtimes · 09/04/2008 20:55

How did the key get in the bush? It sounds like a Biff and Chip story.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 20:57

Except that a glowing key would have been easy to find.

MrsCarrot · 09/04/2008 20:58

God, I hate those books, they should be banned for toe curling boredom.

DH threw them during an argument, they landed irretrievabley in a gorse bush in a school in a remote valley in Wales.

MrsCarrot · 09/04/2008 20:58

He will regret this for some time.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 20:58
ahundredtimes · 09/04/2008 21:00

Wow, he's got a helluva throw on him hasn't he?

For some reason, I haven't dared dwell on too closely - I rather like the Biff and Chip books. I am in their thrall. And I have read them THREE times now. I scan the pictures for discarded spectacles and bones (there are a lot of bones) and for that janitor in his glasses too.

And Kipper is so chipper.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 21:01

I think one of my wisdom teeth is trying to do something. My cheekbone feels hot and feverish and my head hurts.
Oh, do I have a moaning allowance?

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 21:02

I think Biff and Chip books really start to appeal from the age of two and then enthusiasm dwindles shortly before the scheme stops.
Ds2 adores them but is Not Allowed to go to the next level yet or there will be none for him to read next year.

MrsCarrot · 09/04/2008 21:06

it was only a few yards but it flew in the only bush and this bush was spiky. It spiked me in the eye and I had to cry over my knee before standing up and it pulled out some hair. It was a nasty bush.

I cannot stand those books, even the names make me squirm, I mean Biff? They form the bulk of the material in DD's bookbag and I have suffered read them all before with ds1. Variety, surely, is the key to contented parent listeners.

ahundredtimes · 09/04/2008 21:07

Gawd we ALL like them. DS2 brought back some epic long ones I remember - we'd never seen them before.

[shakes self] I clearly need to get over them.

I think I am going to conduct vigorous exercises in the bracing wind for all 10/10ers in their underwear, toothache or not toothache. Then I am going to introduce National Service.

But I'll have to do that tomorrow - I'm going to watch the Apprentice now.

MrsCarrot · 09/04/2008 21:14

I am going to watch Grand Designs and eat blood oranges, though I am a little put off by thinking they resembled a placenta the other night.

FrayedKnot · 09/04/2008 21:14

Oh god what have I done

I just mentioned her name in passing

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2008 21:17

grapes
strawberries

I missed 100

I'm off to bed shortly
