For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Every single one of these titles has been a stroke of genius. Every single one.

But I am lost with this one - please can you explain. It sounds Smithsy but not very recognisable

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:21

All this talk of mooncups makes me consider it. I dismissed the whole idea as too messy at first. 17 quid is quite a commitment if you don't get used to it!

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:22

If Franny's not here I will explain (I think) that it is the Smiths but don't know where from..

Fullmoonfiend · 09/04/2008 19:24

happy omnivore here!

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:26

Me too fmf! I was the only bacon sandwich eating hunt sab in our van many moons ago. (creaking on rocking chair here)

FrayedKnot · 09/04/2008 19:26

"When you say i's gonna happen now...when well exactly do you mean?

Because I've already waited too long, and all my hope is gone"

How Soon Is Now

Fullmoonfiend · 09/04/2008 19:28

lol. Thing is people always assume I am a veggie. I must have that 'aura'. (perhaps it's the tye-dye )

TigerFeet · 09/04/2008 19:29

deffo an omnivore here

I was a vegetarian for years but like most things in my life I couldn't keep it going

mooncups aren't messy at all, and if you buy it from the official site you can return it if you don't get on with it and get a refund

There is no way on this earth I would go back to disposable sanitary ware now

I am a fully fledged mooncup evangelist

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:31

that is very evangelical

behold the mooncup for it is good

it's a definite maybe here.. my birthday is this moon

UnderRated · 09/04/2008 19:31

Ph please do reconsider, stuffit. They take a bit of getting used to but a mooncup can change your life.

Am not vegetarian but I eat meat or fish very rarely . Last time I cooked meat was Christmas, I think.

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:31

and (tmi) and I'm throwing away another pair of knickers tonight so hum haw

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:32

ok I guess you need a jolly good fingernail brush though

TigerFeet · 09/04/2008 19:35

And TigerFeet said "lo, I do find having cotton wool shoved up my fanjo most drying and somewhat vexing, and do not feel that having an absorbent brick in my knickers is the way to cleanliness and godliness. Let there be An Alternative."

And the Mooncup came to pass.

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:36

and the Lentilites and the Weavites did bow down and worship

Amen

I'm sold

S1ur · 09/04/2008 19:37

LOL tiger think that should be quote of the week. Can I nominate you?

I am yet to convert, but I am easily swayed. And out of tampons.

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:37

I will second you. How does one vote?

Swaying out of tampons.. and with that image I will ttfn

xx

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2008 19:38

FrayedKnot · 09/04/2008 19:43

I am not veggie but we don;t eat a huge amount of meat. Mostly sausages and the occasional roast or casserole.

DH is going out tonight and tomorrow I have just realized.

I haven;t been out for ages

ES did you sort things out with DH re his night out?

FrayedKnot · 09/04/2008 19:45
IdrisTheDragon · 09/04/2008 20:08

Boat is amazing .

I am an omnivore. And don't have a mooncup (but do have resuable sanitary ware, which, as I am out of sync with most of you, is being used at the moment).

The apprentice is on in 52 minutes. I like watching the apprentice. I don't get that interested in most things on television but I do like it.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 20:09

I am vegan with the exception of locally/ethically/non-mass produced honey.
I also bought leather shoes but they are British leather, handmade and will last for many years and then biodegrade.
I also use wool but not dodgy Aussie merino, etc.
