toddler induced eating is definitely a problem here. It makes tantrums go a little easier!
I'm about to snack on some nuts. I've resolved to also steer clear of low fat/diet stuff. I rarely eat things like that anyway. Will try to snack on fruit and nuts and other low gi stuff like oatcakes. Will make normal family meals.
Glad to not be alone. Mostly my resolve lasts about a week!

fakeblonde · 07/04/2008 10:42

Hi can i join ?
Threw my scales out during bathroom revamp tho and will have to go and buy some !
I think i`m about 10 12 and would love to lose a stone ?

MegBusset · 07/04/2008 10:55

Yes, finishing DS's food is definitely a problem in this house .

I've had fruit & fibre for breakfast, half a satsuma and three rice cakes for snacks, and several cups of fruit tea!

PuppyDogTails · 07/04/2008 11:00

I am constantly finishing off the bowls of food that DS leaves behind - it's not bad stuff but regular handfuls of pasta and toast soon add up. I hate wasting food, I need to cook less for him.

PuppyDogTails · 07/04/2008 11:01

Bowl of cereal for breakfast with 2 cups of tea. Been out with DS, keeping busy has kept the pangs away. I'm back now but starving, handful of grapes and an oatcake I think.

maidamess · 07/04/2008 11:01

Squirt the plates with washing up liquid the minute you take them off the table. then you can't finish off the scraps!

orangina · 07/04/2008 11:02

I will join you if that's ok. WOuld ideally like to lose a stone, would be happy with a 1/2 stone. Am trying to go to the gym as well.

madcol · 07/04/2008 11:15

oh I'm hungry ; had cereal for breakfast and 3 plums just now. Really fancy pizza or soemthing cheesy.
Re: toddler food - I'm really bad with fishfingers - take off the batter for DS and gobble it. I reckon I probabaly have 2 dinners - a mini one with DS and a large one with DH.

Flo23 · 07/04/2008 11:18

12 stone 4lbs this am. So glad this is anonymous. Would like to be around 11 stone(ideally the high 10 side of 11 stone) Was 13 9 in Jan, but seem to be stuck now!

Tickle · 07/04/2008 11:45

Feeling proud of myself

Porridge for brekkie, then resisted the biccies after the school run & had a banana. Haven't made fruit salad yet, but having hunger pangs now, so will go and make some

Also have 2 toddlers, so prone to hiding my head in the larder - just so they don't ask 'what are you eating, Mummy?'

Good luck everyone!

trulymadlydeeply · 07/04/2008 12:10

No snacking so far - normally have cake for breakfast!! , and had a healthy salad lunch. Even managed to resist biscuits when kids had snacks, and after lunch.

Really having to think about it, though, so it shows how automatic it's become.

Lovely to know so many os us are there int he same boat, ready to be supportive!

Well done so far, everyone! Keep going and we'll have got the end of the first day nearly intact!

We can do it!

QuintessentialShadows · 07/04/2008 12:53

Great to see so much enthusiasm!

I had 1 1/2 slice of wholemeal bread with cheese and a glass of orange juice for breakfast. 1/4 wholemeal bread with erm... nutella left over from my toddler.

For lunch, cured cooked fish with 1 potato. No treats so far!

Oh, my weight is 86kg.

1 slice wholemeal and one carrot with homemade hoummous for lunch with an apple and clementine. Small nibble of cheese. Have had a handful of fruit and nuts mid-morning which worked as a snack.
I find staying in the house very hard. Meeting friends this afternoon, will have to avoid coffee and cake!
All healthy snack ideas welcome!

Arabica · 07/04/2008 13:01

OK! Have started. Black coffee, half a slice of bread, an apple and a slice of cheese! Makes a change from yesterday which was black coffee, half a loaf, half a pound of cheese, no apple and 4 choc ices

Arabica · 07/04/2008 13:03

Am too embarrassed to tell you my weight!

madcol · 07/04/2008 13:06

Hurray LUNCHTIME!!

Tomato and Basil soup. 2 plums.

Think afternoon is going to be hard.

Fantastic to see so many people trying as well.

notnowbernard · 07/04/2008 13:12

Bowl of cornflakes and slice of toast for breakfast, with a cup of coffee

Toasted cheese and ham sarnie and a bowl of grapes for lunch

Drinking my way through the 2ltr of water

No snacks so far... if I get hungry this pm might have to have a cracker/crumpet/piece of fruit

Need to get some more diverse snacks in

PuppyDogTails · 07/04/2008 13:15

Snack suggestion for sweet teeth - Sugar free jelly, make up a pint and put it into plastic cups. Each cup has about 10 calories in it.

uttertripe · 07/04/2008 13:17

well i ought to.
have gone to seed, frankly.
need to get arse into exercise gear too.
at least 4 times a week i fear.
which is 4 times more than in the last 31 years then.... (i am exaggerating of course, but not by much)

notnowbernard · 07/04/2008 13:20

I don't know about anyone else, but I would quite like to wean myself off sugar long-term. You know, like when someone stops smoking they generally aim to stop full stop

Several years ago I stopped taking sugar in tea and coffee (my dentist scared me into it). At first I hated it but after a few months I sort of just 'switched' and now find the taste of sugary drinks disgusting.

Am hoping stopping sugar will have same effect. To the point where I won't ever think of it

MegBusset · 07/04/2008 13:21

Lunch: Quorn ham & mustard roll, glass of water.

Chances of me making it til teatime without eating = zero. But I'm OK as long as I stick with fruit and rice cakes.

Am I allowed a cappuccino or does it have to be skinny?

Also I don't think I could fit any more physical activity into the day, I'm running round after DS all day (and always have a morning and afternoon walk) and by the evening have to collapse on the sofa...

maidamess · 07/04/2008 13:38

notnowbernard, if you want snacks that aren't bread/white carb based try oatcakes, or a little pot of yoghurt, a handful of nuts and raisins or a sliced apple and a chunk of cheese.

I am a total breadaholic but have lost weight quickly and easily before cutting out bread and sugar, which seems to 'ferment' inside me, causing all sorts of ructions!

notnowbernard · 07/04/2008 13:42

Maidamess, we are all bread monsters in our house!

Will start by trying to cut out carbs as snacks. Will get some oatcakes and nuts etc on next shopping trip
