Afternoon: an orange and a skinny decaf cappuccino. Now pretty ravenous, so will be a big ask to get through DS's tea without snaffling any myself!

MegBusset · 07/04/2008 16:33

Nobody told me wine was off the menu!

Tickle · 07/04/2008 16:36

I think we all know what our personal worst enemies are I'm not a great wine drinker, so I'm allowing it, but choc and biccies are off my menu!!

hairtwiddler · 07/04/2008 16:44

I'm the same with wine - maybe have two glasses at the weekend. Chocolate and cake though, I rarely go a day without.

ingles2 · 07/04/2008 16:45

Megbusset,.. I just know that if I cut out that glass (ok...2) of wine I'll lose weight. Along with the crisps and chocolate of course. I'm also going to try eating dinner with the kids this week as dh is away all week, instead of eating 2 dinners. I haven't got any scales but I'm not bothered would just like to feel better. I think I'm about 11 stone 7/8 and am 5'8 and my secret horror is that I've just discovered...back fat!

FunkyGlassSocks · 07/04/2008 17:02

exercise...hah.

I did however avoid the 2 delicious chocolate hobnonbs waiting for me in the cupboard earlier and i had grapes instead. I'm knackered though...

PuppyDogTails · 07/04/2008 17:17

smith - what's wrong with an omelette?

I do drink most nights but I only ever drink one of those 250ml bottles of wine in an evening. (I haven't been drunk in two years -- life without hangovers is great!)

And it is red wine, so that's good for me.. right?

AbbyLou · 07/04/2008 18:23

Hi just found this thread, can I join please? I desperately need to lose about 2.5 stone. I weighed 9.5 stone before ds was born - he was 3 in December. I weighed 11.5 stone when I fell pregnant with dd who's 11 months and this morning I was 13.2 . That is shocking. I'm a teacher so have just started 2 weeks at home with the kids. Not a good time to start I know but I can't put it off any longer. I find the exercise thing eally hard. I have work to do in the evenings and just can't fit it in. Last night I bought an exercise bike off Ebay and I'm going to give that a go.
I had 2 slices of toast and tea for breakfast and for lunch I had 6 Melba toast with low fat pate and an apple. I am starving!!!

hairtwiddler · 07/04/2008 18:29

I recently got an exercise bike and to my surprise I'm still going on it three times a week nearly two months later. DH is doing it too. He goes on for half an hour from 6:15am then I do half an hour until 7:15. DD usually gets up just a bit after that so I just have enough time to fit in a shower. I feel the benefit, but some mornings it's sooooo hard to get on. I started doing it five times a week, but have realised that if I aim for three times it's a lot easier!
I watch episodes of six feet under as I cycle and alternate steady pace with going like the clappers!

mybestfriendiscalledstig · 07/04/2008 19:33

Right - logging in before yoga

No snacks so far (& being out of the house/doing virtuous exercise should see me through tonight)
Don't think I'm being quite so good on the low cal food as some of you - I'm going for healthy rather absolutely low cal - although tonight's leek & potato soup probably ticks both boxes!

I'm going to keep booze for weekends only - have been doing this since Dec & it makes a big difference (but then I'm not a one small glass kind of a girl)

Smithagain · 07/04/2008 19:49

Puppy - the omlette had a moderate amount of fat in it by the time I'd finished adding all sorts of yummy things to it Still pretty healthy overall, though, I think. And very ecological cos I used up lots of leftovers!

Smithagain · 07/04/2008 19:49

DH brought home four iced doughnuts. Can I have some credit because I only had about one third of a doughnut ...

QuintessentialShadows · 07/04/2008 19:51

The more the merrier!

I have just had a fishcake on a piece of roll for dinner, and a small bowl of muesli with semi skimmed milk for supper.

I am quite hungry, though. Will have to eat something else later, like a banana, as I am on antibiotics and dont want an upset tummy.

Been good today, except one very small treat, a tiny marzipan duck.....

Getting to the end of the day. GOD it hasn't been easy! But I've resited the sweet snacks and had a few dried cranberries instead, and today is not a wine night so I'm feeling very virtuous.

It was the thought of having to confess to all of you that's kept me at it.

We MUST keep at it!

Well done, everyone!

notnowbernard · 07/04/2008 20:05

Hmm, I have snacked a lot since the kids teatime

Bits of cheese when making a cheese sauce
The leftover mashed potato (only a bit though)
A slice of Marmite on toast
A small bowl of nuts

Still, will look on the bright side... still no sugar!

Am having homemade fishcake and coleslaw for dinner. Might have a bottle of beer, too

(I can't ban alcohol, it will tip me over the edge )

PuppyDogTails · 07/04/2008 20:05

Roast chicken, carrots and spuds - could have been worse I suppose

ingles2 · 07/04/2008 20:13

so ate with the kids,..homemade frittata and salad,...
could do with some chocolate now and there's still a mini egg easter egg sitting on the shelf! > this is really hard work isn't it? and I haven't even got to wine time yet!

hairtwiddler · 07/04/2008 20:14

Well done everyone. Remember this is about cutting out the snacks. I'm not going to make any extra effort to change meals, as then I'm bound to fail! I had a big bowl of smoked salmon and spinach tagliatelle for dinner, which was lovely! Evenings are so tough - I've had a small bunch of grapes to get some natural sugar!
Work tomorrow - need to stay away from those biscuits. Will go armed with nuts and fruit.

jennster · 07/04/2008 20:48

Lunch was carrot and celery sticks with houmous and some leftovers

Dinner was Chicken marinated in lemon mint and chilli with olive oil, quinoa, cherry toms and half a bag of salad. Strawberries and melon for pudding.

I've also managed to make tomorrow nights dinner.

ingles2 · 07/04/2008 20:53

right...
now what....?
kids in bed, would normally sit down with a glass of something...
nothing on tv
can't eat the easter egg......
humph...
might as well go to bed.

jennster · 07/04/2008 20:54

Watch delia and slag her off

ingles2 · 07/04/2008 20:57

but jennster... that's crap food and I'm hungry!

ingles2 · 07/04/2008 20:58

actually I've just realised I'm not hungry, I'm bored!
This is probably my biggest problem...I'm on my own (save the dcs) in the middle of nowhere most weeknights
