notnowbernard · 30/04/2008 19:35

Happy birthday, Ingles

I'd be glugging the vino, too

hairtwiddler · 30/04/2008 19:38

Reporting in since thread fell of my 'threads I'm on' again - oops! I'm doing ok though. I think I've cracked staying away from all those singing biscuits and cakes at work. Evenings are tough, and have pms this week. So far worst sin has been some pringles while babysitting for a friend. Can't keep them in my house!
Work scales suggest I've lost about 4lb. Quite pleased with that. Means I'm now 12stone 3lb, and would be happy at 11 and a half.

ingles2 · 30/04/2008 19:42

Thanks Ladies...
Am on 2nd glass and it's only 7.40
will probably be out cold by 8

(lack of drinking practice you know )

Tickle · 01/05/2008 11:21

belated HB to ingles... are we nursing an iddy-biddy hangover this morning??

DH was exhausted last night after an 11 hr day, so was looking for something sweet... I had to make him some choc biscuits cos the cupboards looked so saintly!

Had a couple myself... now trying not to listen as they sing to me from the tin

ingles2 · 02/05/2008 19:48

Ok, so it's been a very bad week....
It was extremely important I went out for dinner with friends last night and got hammered!
trying to be good today as it's dh's b'day on Sunday...
God this is hard work

Tutte · 02/05/2008 19:52

if i were you i'd write off these few days!

well, i am under 11 stone for the first time since early pregnancy with ds2 (9mo) - my scales made me precisely 10st 13.5lbs

so, 8.5 lbs down in 2 1/2 weeks

i want to get to 10st 9lbs, which is what i weighed when i last fell pg

ingles2 · 02/05/2008 21:09

Well done Tutter!
couldn't resist weighing myself,..not put anything on. phew!

Tickle · 02/05/2008 22:07

Think I am on the rebound a little - not feeling quite as good as I was. I'm not doing the secret eating thing, which is great, but I think I will have to redouble my efforts with the healthy stuff... as I seem to crave carbohydrates madly at the mo.

off to a friend's birthday overnight tomorrow... so there may be wine and cake

ingles2 · 06/05/2008 13:31

Hi Everyone,... How are you doing? It's gone a bit quiet.....
Still doing ok, been difficult with loads of birthdays but am definitely slimmer. Have gone from a 38D to a 36C which is very good news...
Have a good week x

funnypeculiar · 06/05/2008 13:39

hello al
I'm still going (although I have to admit I have diluted the rules a bit
Weight still going down, albeit slowly - & am fitting into lots of clothes I haven't worn since before ds (who is now 4!)
Very happy with myself

MegBusset · 06/05/2008 13:52

I went on holiday and fell off the wagon in spectacular form

But weighed myself this morning and am 9st 7.5lb so not too bad, I put on a pound or so.

Tickle · 06/05/2008 21:07

I'm still trying, and doing more exercise, so definitely feeling more healthy.

Well done to everyone still going

Fresh green asparagus and new potatoes have just come into season here - yum!

hairtwiddler · 06/05/2008 22:24

another one who fell off the wagon over the bank holiday. Went to see my mum who had been baking... then visited various people who had biscuits. Then had ice creams. Oops.
Help me back on the wagon please!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 07/05/2008 09:26

I'm failing miserably. DD1 has chicken pox and I've been snacking around her. I'm expecting DD2 to get it soon but will jump back in after that.

ingles2 · 08/05/2008 10:53

Hi all...hope this week is going well..
So what happens when you hit a plateau? Still not having any treats or wine during week but don't think I'm losing.
Does this mean I actually have to do some....exercise!

notnowbernard · 09/05/2008 10:39

Am still plodding on...

Ingles, I also feel like I've hit a plateau. Have still not had ANY sugar but don't think I've lost much. Weighed myself at work the other day and was still 10st exactly. But then a colleague told me the scales are notoriously unreliable... weighed myself an hour later and was 9.12

Still, my trousers are fitting nicely again so I feel better

ingles2 · 11/05/2008 20:52

Hi all...
I know it's a bit tumble weedy on this thread now but please can I have some much needed support.
I'm stuck at losing half a stone, still no wine or goodies during the week and much reduced at weekends but it just aint happening.
Saw a photo of me today, 1st of the year and it was seriously depressing. I've got to lose at least another half but really another stone. and the arms are a problem
I'm going to do exercise
I'm going swimming in the morning.
I hate exercise!!
but it's got to be done..

ingles2 · 11/05/2008 20:54

Sorry NotnowB... am overwhelmed at the thought of getting fat arse out at the municipal pool

I suggest keep weighing yourself on those scales till you get a result you like.. that's what I do
Seriously..
Good news your trews feel good

notnowbernard · 11/05/2008 21:01

Ingles, hello

Sorry you are feeling 'stuck' atm

But it sounds like you are doing well in terms of staying power! Just think, it didn't take too long to get into the habit of not eating crap so maybe the exercise thing will go the same way?

And imagine a nice early morning swim and how that will set the motivation standard for the day! (Would love to go swimming but the dds are too young for me to manage both on my own)

Keep Calm and Carry On

ingles2 · 11/05/2008 21:20

Thanks Bernard... (Can I call you that )
I don't know,...maybe it will, but ultimately I'm lazy
Have been sneakily looking at that photo...It really is depressing. was just wondering when I developed bingo wings

notnowbernard · 11/05/2008 22:57

Bernard is fine with me!

Let us know how you enjoy that swim tomorrow

FunkyGlassSlipper · 12/05/2008 08:12

Well done guys. I didnt stick at the no snacking DH is away so I've been baking with DD to distract her

Swimming is good. I started before I got pregnant with DD2. Set a target of x lengths first time then increase it by 1 length each time you go. I used to really push myself that way and found I begand to look forward to seeing how much I could do.

ingles2 · 12/05/2008 11:02

Morning!
Do you know what.. the swim was nice I'd forgotten in the last 9 kiddie years
I did 20 lengths of breast stroke by which point my bingo wings were killing me.
I can do this... I WILL lose weight!

notnowbernard · 12/05/2008 19:10

Well done on the swim

Even pre-kids I used to find the idea of going a real faff, but once I'd been, always really enjoyed it

Got into the habit of going twice a week when pg with DD1, felt great

I really think I need to tone a bit. Clothed, I look ok, naked I can certainly wobble a bit

trulymadlydeeply · 12/05/2008 20:09

I've just eaten about half of OJ's chocolate orange cake recipe!!! My teeth feel like mohair jumpers and I feel soooooo guilty!
