For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco what a hellish week
they were absolutely delightful when we met them so it is definitely not terminal
can't dp take over when he gets home? you need to get away and do something else - have a bath or something so you are not available to be barked at, while dp struggles with it for a bit

large salad with beans, potatoes, lettuce, veg sausage, cucumber, tomato, hummus, pepper
probably 2

which makes 10 or 11

have just found out someone who attends my groups is starting up a group of her own

in 'my' hall

during the time I am on maternity leave

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 20:32

actually I say found out which is unfair
she rang me to tell me

OP posts:
Boco · 01/04/2008 20:46

Is that not kind of ok just while you're on maternity leave Franny? As long as she stops when you're ready to come back?

Dp hates it if they're loud or tricky - he either gets very angry or goes and hides - both things make it worse. If i go off and make him deal with it it'll all just descend into shouting - or that's what I usually think - but actually now I'm shouting too instead of being the calm one. dd1 went to bed doing that sobbing breath thing and saying 'you HATE me, I can TELL!'

I want to go to see friends but I'm really really tired and it's much worse doing all this in front of an audience isn't it.

Hello veggers

Sorry to hear of all the crap going on

I am a bad vegger atm

But Franny my Kiki thingummy arrived today (I say arrived today, I mean today I managed to get to the Post Office to collect it as the postie missed me last week). I am expecting wonderous glowiness within the week y'know Does it count as a portion ?

I dont' do firmness or briskness either. It makes me feel awful. DD takes full advantage at times but then sometimes I snap and get all shouty.

Is THe Other Woman doing the same group thing that you do Franny?

Fullmoonfiend · 01/04/2008 20:56

at other woman. How very dare she?

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 20:57

erm, she isn't going to stop when I get back
it's a long term thing
I don't know what she's doing but I imagine it isn't a million miles away
I did ask but she was Not Forthcoming

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 20:58

TigerFeet you will be wondrous and glowy
just watch out for the Temporary Cleansing Reaction (as mentioned on jar [fear])

OP posts:
Boco · 01/04/2008 21:00

Oh dear, that is very rude of her. How did you respond - were you icy?

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 21:02

naaaah
oh come on
I am very but what can I do? she has a perfect right to do this, I just feel
I wished her luck

OP posts:
Fullmoonfiend · 01/04/2008 21:02

right that's it - get me some of her toenails. Or nasal hair. or something

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 21:02

noooooooo
I am being precious
people can have groups, it isn't the law that I am the only one who is allowed to have groups
it brings out the worst in my control freakery though

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 01/04/2008 21:03

@ the OW

I am braced for the Temporary Cleansing Reaction. Is it severe [quiver]

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 21:05

I would think for a hardened vegger such as yourself Tiger it will be mild
if you are a toilet inspector a la G McKeith it may keep you occupied for a few days however

now now I feel guilty about this poor other lady
I am just being piqued that I can't keep all the groups to myself for ever and ever and she is a nice lady and she DID ring me to tell me

OP posts:
Fullmoonfiend · 01/04/2008 21:07

oH Franny, yopu are too reasonable for words...I'd deffo have a little bit sulk, if it were me.

eternalstudent · 01/04/2008 21:09

What have I missed?

What is this Kiki stuff? Can you buy it in a real shop r only online? (Loud crash as ES hastily jumps onto bandwagon and misses)

I feel quite grumpy. They aren't showing new CSI on five, only old.

Gorgeous weather today, wanted to go to the allotment and turf the rugrats out amongst the worms but it took me over an hour and a half to travel the 1.5 miles back from picking SD up from school.

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 21:09

I am, I am
I am sulking and ing
but to discuss it publically and for everyone to get cross and all that feels a bit mean
I shouldn't have mentioned it

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2008 21:10

Kiki is fab
you can buy in health shop if you have good one locally
admit it was the poo talk that reeled you in, student

OP posts:
eternalstudent · 01/04/2008 21:11

Always!

eternalstudent · 01/04/2008 21:13

Actually it was the post referring to all 10 / 10 ers as hippies, weirdos, freaks crossed out. I knew I was in the right place.

FrayedKnot · 01/04/2008 21:13

Yes indeed at the other woman..did she ring to ask you if you'd mind, or just to tell you?

Boco oh dear, that sounds the very crap of crapness. Can you sneak off to London on Saturday and leave them to it instead?

Perhaps it is just you ahve been away and now they are doing that holiday adjusting thing when they are at home spending lots of time with each other. By tomorrow perhaps they will be best friends and inseparable and going off and having picnics int he garden and stuff

I can do brisk and jolly but I have to be in a very strong mood to do it.

At bath time DS was making up the kind of jokes only a four year old can..

"Mummy, why did the bus go down the toilet?
Because it thought it was a road"

And then roaring with ridiculously false laughter

He doesn;t really understand jokes yet

eternalstudent · 01/04/2008 21:14

SOunds like of DH's jokes

Fullmoonfiend · 01/04/2008 21:14

Disclaimer: for any y Other Women.

Franny is being very reasonable and of course, anyone is entitled to do bouncing, singing and parachutes. She does not have a monopoly of wnacky baskets. And she wishes you the best of luck.

( And people will come to Other groups. But their hildren's little faces will fall ad they will pipe innocently: ''But where is our Franny? We like the way she does it..'' And the parents will beam embarassedly at Other Leaders while secretly thinking ''yes, the original is always the best, isn't it....'')

TigerFeet · 01/04/2008 21:15

Eternal I would wait for my report on the Temporary Cleansing Reaction before diving in

Never have my bowel movements been more analysed

Gillian would have a field day with my poo

Sometimes I do horrid squirty ones or poo in a rabbit dropping stylee but occasionally I do a really big satisfying one that she would just adore

eternalstudent · 01/04/2008 21:18

But what is it?

Not the poo.
