Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

kingprawntikka - thank you lovely - your name makes me so hunry!

I will now confess that I am 5'10" and last time I weighed myself I was 12stone 6lb. Arggh!

Countryhousehotel - I couldn't understand how you'd only put on half a stone with your glorious eating routine until I spotted that you go to the gym 3 times a week. Am very of that. I used to go to the gym but DDs make it impossible now. Well done to your DH for supporting you.

gscrym - bet those girls at the pool would blow away in a good strong wind!

I had toast at about 10pm last night - why didn't I just go to bed?????? Can se me spending a lot (more ) of time on MN in the evenings to come.

gscrym · 20/03/2008 09:16

I'm back to work on Monday so that'll be all the exercise I need. I have about 2-3 hours of really physical work (digging 300kgs of powder out of a filter) then a lot of going up and down stairs. Roll on skinnyness!.

Now I just needd sto stop snacking on nightshift!

kingprawntikka · 20/03/2008 09:16

yeah, not a good name for a diet thread is it!!? See what hope have i got when i was even thinking about food when i picked my name.
I wish i was 5'10". i spend my whole life climbing on chairs to reach things!Does that count as step aerobics do you think!?

Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 09:21

Morning ladies. well done all of you for trying. And a well done for trying for those who succumbed to munching.

I manged OK but I guess thats because we ate after 8pm, I did have a think about munchies... something sweet. But held fast!

I'm 5ft 4in and weigh 9st 4lb and would like to get to 8st 10 which is 8lb to lose. I've done it before and then bought clothes...needless to say those clothes are a wee bit tight at the moment! Feeling very positive about this though and doing it with other people...believe me I will need the help to get through Easter Weekend let alone the Easter Holidays!!

countryhousehotel · 20/03/2008 12:31

Jaamy I think i'd be happy if that half stone was evenly distributed around my body but unfortunately it's all on my arse .

futurity · 20/03/2008 13:04

i sympathise with that countryhousehotel...my top half is relatively "skinny" size 8 (aside from c-section left behind flabby tummy!) its my bottom half that the weight collects on!

SusieHughsie · 20/03/2008 14:57

Hi all,

Had a good evening last night, ate dinner with the children at 6pm and then the only thing I had after that was a Yoghurt (Low Fat, of course!).

I am 5ft 6 and weigh 10st 8lb the heaviest I have been in a long, long time. I would like to lose at least a stone before June when I am going on holiday with my very slim, glamourous friend.

I'm feeling quite positive, it's really nice to have the support of others.

Hope you're all having a good day,

x

duomonstermum · 20/03/2008 16:19

kingprawn, good to see another shorty. i'm 5'2 and 1/2 (v.important!)so i agree that having to climb up to reach things should be counted as step aerobics .

did well last night. prob cos DD is teething so never even got to have a cuppa without it going cold.... must try to get to the pool cos i hate the gym.

had to see gp today and when i mentioned the diet he stood me on the scales and said that it would be wise promptly followed by " you don't look like you'd be that heavy....." i'll take it as a compliment that i don't look like a lard a, i just am

bozza · 20/03/2008 16:28

wolfgirl I don't appear to have the spreadsheet can you resend please?

MamaChris · 20/03/2008 17:02

I was bad last night with a late night sandwich (but at least it wasn't chocolate ) and fully intend to do better tonight [determined emoticon].

I'm 5'11", and 13 stone 7 (ooh - that's hard just to write it down). I'd like to get back to 12 stone, but mostly just lose the double chin that dominates every photo of me. I'm still bf-ing, so aiming to lose 1 pound/week.

Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 17:53

OK ladies, I need your weight, in pounds or Kgs. I dont have scales as I type, but hoping to get some over Easter.

If you dont have any, could you borrow some till you do get any?

Setting this up will take a bit of time, as trying to find a few mins to jump on the computer is a nightmare!

Ive created a second spreadhseet, with only MN name, incentive and weigh in dates. I will send that out in future, and I will keep the one with everyones emails.

Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 18:01

bozza - yes, I will have anothr go tonight, but have family arriving very soon, then tea, kids to bed etc. So bear with me if Im a little aloof, I'll get there

kingprawntikka · 20/03/2008 18:01

Hi Wolfgirl. weight10st3 didn't get the first spreadsheet but maybe you haven't sent it yet. my email is [email protected]

Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 18:05

MamaChris - if its any consolation Im 6', and last weigh in I was 14 st something, Im a size 18 on the bottom and between 15-16 on top. A real ruddy pear shape, soooo not what the doctor ordered!

I used to be incredibly fit, but with the birth of DS1 I somehow got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, although didnt realise what it was. It took till last October to have my symptoms diagnosed, which is great, cos at least I can set my pace and deal with it. So I dont do 'extra curriculum' exercise iykwim!

But, I will be do some very simple and slow exercises, like more walking, and some sit ups, and possibly some swimming. It wont be loads, but more than Im doing now.

OP posts:
Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 18:06

between 14-16 on top!

OP posts:
MamaChris · 20/03/2008 18:13

well wolfgirl - it sounds like we are topsy turvy mirror images. I'm a 14-16 on the bottom, but struggle to find anything to fit on top - mainly men's XL (and they're always tight!). Similarly used to be v fit, but have no excuse for current lack of exercise. I will aim for taking ds for more walks as weather improves.

ChirpyGirl · 20/03/2008 19:36

Hmm, I need someone else to come out of the woodwork, after 2 DD's.and having BF DD1 until I got pregnant with DD2, so no time to diet...I was 16 st 7 last time I checked. I don't have scales in the house as it is too depressing, so I weigh myself on Boots or Tesco machines.
I did okay on Tuesday but last night DH was out so I could snack freely without hiding it from him! He isn't out again until next Wednesday though so fingers crossed!

Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 19:50

Come on ChirpyGirl! You can do this. We can ALL do this. Just say no. But you know what, even if you give in, just keep trying. There are about 24 of us now, and we are all going to try really hard. I swear, even if you only try it for a week, your stomach will shrink, and you really will feel the benefit.

peachygirl · 20/03/2008 20:49

Hi all
kingprawntikka and duomonstermum. I'm a shortie too. 4''11.

I feel a bt guilty writing down my weight as I went on the scale this morning and was surprised I weighed less than I thought. I'm 8 stone 12. I would like to be 8.7 and maybe get down to 8 stone. But my main goal is to get into those summer trousers

I had a good night last night but we have eaten late tonight and I have seom chocolate eggs given to DD looking at me....

Did we decide if wine counted??

Wolfgirl · 20/03/2008 21:04

Peachygirl, you can have a glass of wine with your dinner.

Im struggling tonight too, just wanna pick relly! a little bit hungry, but am gonna keep going.

not done the dishes, and DH dropped sacks loads of shopping off before going out again, but other than the cold stuff putting it away, Im leaving it, and the dishes LOL

waynetta slob, thats me! I'll regret it in the morning, having to clear it all up. Maybe DH will do it when he gets in, ya never know

all the best tonight ladies, keep going

I am sure I posted on this thread but can not find it anywhere

3NAB · 20/03/2008 21:21

Searched and nowhere to be found.

I said about losing still

Can I join in please? I would love to loose 2 stone but realistically can't see it happening. 1 would be good.

callmeovercautious · 20/03/2008 21:27

Can I join in? I am getting Married 1st August and although I am 1 stone lighter than before I got PG (don't ask how that happenned I am just thankful everyday )
I am still over wieght by at least 1 stone (maybe 2?)

I have a theory that the extra wieght is because I still BF and my body is storing fat to feed DD. I am not stopping anytime soon so any other theory is good for me

vannah · 20/03/2008 21:28

hi wolfgirl, I tried this out last night, did well till about 10 and then the accute hunger pangs were killing me so ate a lump of cheese and some lettuce to calm rumbling tummy down and quickly went to sleep.

just wanted to ask you - does this mean I need to eat a larger evening meal? If Im literally starving? I know you mentioned you went to bed 'a bit' hungry, but i was much more than that.

What do you recommend? I eat dinner at 5ish, and go to bed 11.30 after giving my 3month old dd her last feed. I try not to drink much in the evenings because I have a weak bladder and dont want to go to the loo at night...

thankyou for this!
