Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

Ooh, me too, please! Ds2 is 14 weeks and it is time for the tummy to go! I have about a stone of "baby weight" to lose. But I've been looking at slimming world and weight watchers and all those, and I can't face it. I decided last night to eat fruit instead of biscuits and chocolate, and see what happens.

So this sounds good. I need to lose a dress size to get back into all my clothes! I am going to swap the daytime biscuits and chocolate for fruit, and then stop eating after tea (we eat at 5ish usually).

Not sure that its wise to start a diet on the Easter weekend, but still!

futurity · 19/03/2008 19:50

this is going to be tough tonight...going to watch a film in a mo which is normally picking at food time. I WILL RESIST! LOL

I will go on the scales in the morning. Do we use lbs or KGs?

Hi, thank you for waiting patiently for me! I am going to stay a fatty for now though as it is not the best time for me to try it. I wish you all heaps of luck! My tip is to photograph your tummy on a day you feel horrible. Keep looking at it every time you want to nibble...........

Hey you guys, Im going to email everyone a test mail tonight, hopefully you will get the spreadsheet attachment.

Wolfgirl · 19/03/2008 22:00

Im not doing too bad either , just a life time to go now LOL. Did have a lovely dinner that DH cooked, steak, mashed pot, leeks pan fried in butter and cauliflower, covered in creamy pepper sauce.

of course, there's no room for munching even if I wanted too

Got spreadsheet Wolfy, thanks! Just got to figure out how to open it then I'll send it back. DH works in IT so I'm sure he can help!

Having seen how much some of you weigh pre-diet I'm a bit reluctant to share my stats. again! I keep telling myself that I'm tall and quite toned and muscle weighs more than fat, doesn't it?...Doesn't it?

ChirpyGirl · 20/03/2008 07:38

Morning all, rubbish night last night, so we won't talk about that....
Haven't had email so my address is rowieb at btinternet dot com, (WG, there is a different one on the cat with my full name!)

You're a star!

gscrym · 20/03/2008 07:43

I weighed myself yesterday at the leisure centre DS goes swimming at and I'm 67.6kgs. I want to knock about 8 - 10kgs off that. I was also taking to the Ranger and another volunteer at the nature reserve I volunteer at and they both weigh about 55kgs, skinny buggers that they are. Oh to be wee and skinny.

I don't think I could take a photo of my wobbly tum, it'd depress me and make me want to munch.

kingprawntikka · 20/03/2008 07:53

Morning all, JaamyBunny-You shoudn't feel like that. i'm tiny in height only 5ft1, so even if i get down to 9st 1 i will still have a BMI of just under 24. Managed not to eat at all after tea and no pudding either so so far so good !

countryhousehotel · 20/03/2008 08:34

I'm 5 ft 5 (and three-quarters!) currently weigh 10 st 12. I was 10 stone 4 or 5 when i got pregnant and the same within a couple of weeks after dd was born. I'd love to get back to somewhere around there or perhaps a little bit less so i have some leeway!! Especially as we are thinking of TTC number 2 soon. Can't bear the thought of getting pregnant with this extra half a stone to carry around from the outset.

Evening picking isn't my main problem though, it's alcohol and all-day scoffing at weekends when dp and i "reward" ourselves for a hard week by eating non-stop.

So I am going to reduce drinking on week nights to one small glass of red wine, no drinking at lunchtime on weekends, no carbs in the evenings on weeknights. Our Friday night tradition for years has been a takeaway, usually a fatty curry with all the trimmings (poppadoms, mango, naan bread, rice) so Dp has agreed to stop that, and instead to cook at home but something nice so it feels like a treat, maybe a home-made healthy curry with some wholemeal rice (the only week-night when we will have carbs at dinner).

DP and I eat with dd on weekends at around 5.30ish, after which there will be no snacking! On weeknights, we eat at 7.30 or 8pm once she is asleep, so I will cut out carbs on those nights.

I manage to get to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and do at least 40 mins cardio each time, so will stick with that and perhaps try to walk more in general.

Hopefully these little changes will mean lots less of me in a few weeks!
