Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Wolfgirl · 18/03/2008 08:57

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

My God I was good, I had nothing.

Just had a loooovely toasted teacake for breakfast.

Fruity, sounds like you're doing really well.

Wolfie, when is it you're off, and are we allowed to know where you're going?

Wolfgirl · 31/05/2008 15:10

Hi ya. Two more sleeps, well, 1.5 really, cos we have to be up at 3am Monday morning. We will keep the kids in their clothes all ready. We are in Bristol and have to drive to Gatwick, but we found it easier and quicker to do that then stay at my sisters in Sidcup.

We are off to Corfu. I just took at look at their current temperature, they are two hours ahead of us, and it is 30 degs.

Oh my giddy aunt.... am I ever going to cope! seriously! Im off for a lie down, get over the shock.

also, I just dont have the clothes suitable, I think what I do have is far too heavy, even though it is summer stuff - iykwim.

Think I may have to do some last minute buying at the airport. Oh dear - I thought that bit was all over and done with. Now of course the kids, can walk around pretty much nuddy - smothered in factor 500 of course

Still.... cant help but be excited. whooowhoooooooooo !

I've fallen off the wagon already!
I will promise to be good again on monday - must get those scales sorted

nappybaglady · 01/06/2008 19:51

hello everyone (and newcomers). I am not going to have any snacks tonight. Just thought I'd put it here so i stick to it. All this sunny weather this week has caused far too much BBQ/ice cream/sitting outside with coffee and cake sort of weakness.

Have a nice week everyone

JustJaamy · 01/06/2008 21:35

Hello all!

Sorry not been around much the last week - been a bit poorly but will endeavour to catch up with the thread tomorrow.

Just to let you know that I have emailed you all tonight regarding me taking over from Wolfgirl while she has abandoned us taken a well earned holiday in the sun She will be flaunting her new improved bod in Corfu for the next couple of weeks.

Just to reinforce, please let me know your MN name when you email me your stats on Tues, otherwise I won't know where to stick them (your stats that is) .

Will be abck for a proper post soon. Jx

JustJaamy · 02/06/2008 08:51

Apologies ladies! Have just discovered that the email I sent through last night has no subject title. So the mail you should have got around 9.25pm was me!

I promise I'll get better over the next couple of weeks!

Let me know if you didn't receive anything and I'll see what I can do.

cadelaide · 02/06/2008 13:13

Hi Jaamy, just read your email, I think you're going to be an excellent deputy!

Fruity, are you being good?

nappybaglady, did you resist?

I have to confess to a sneak peek at the scales this am. Disappointing. We shall see tomorrow.

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2008 17:17

Hi girls, I'm sort of being good today. Well I haven't had anything since 2pm anyway. I've just got to stop this picking on crap in the mornings. I know you can sort of eat what you like but I seem to use it as an excuse to pig out

I wanted to avoid carbs in the evenings but we're cutting back on the food shopping by quite a lot so we'll have to have what's in the cupboard tonight.
I've found some wholewheat spaghetti and tin of tomatoes in the cupboard and we have 2 veggie sausages in the freezer so I have to be creative with that As long as I chuck loads of herbs in it shouldn't be too bad It's either that of beans on toast (carbs again)
Oh darn it I knew I'd forgotten something, my mum came over this afternoon, I should've asked her to bring my scales! Bah! Oh well.
There's no point me adding myself to the list until I get some scales so I'll go by how many buttons I can do up on my jeans

dinny · 02/06/2008 17:20

WG - can I join? sounds v good!

my email is [email protected]!!

cadelaide · 02/06/2008 17:44

Hello and Welcome dinny, WGs on holiday and JustJaamy's keeping us all in line for a bit, I'm sure she'll be along soon.

Keep at it Fruity.

Right now I'm having a very challenging time. It's DPs bday and there are Quality Streets spread over the kitchen table. DCs keep trying them, little teensy bites, and then bringing them to me;
"Muuum, don't like this one"

and, listen carefully, I am putting them in the bin.

It's haaaaard.

dinny · 02/06/2008 17:47

thank you, cadelaide!

FruitynNutty · 02/06/2008 17:55

Oh cadelaide You have a will of steel lady! I would put them straight in the bin too but in my case the bin is my mouth!

duomonstermum · 02/06/2008 22:19

caddy, oh what a way to test your will power!!! i confess, not being in any fit state to walk anywhere without looking 101 is not helping. at least the surface bruising has settled but the deep tissue stuff is sooo painful.... DH jokes that i should have demanded lipo on my bum to make the pain worthwhile... i would thump the bugger but i'm settling for putting on any programme that is remotely funny so that he can suffer! (i do love him...honest) i have him under my feet for the next few weeks so i should have a lovely garden/patio area in 6wks time

duomonstermum · 02/06/2008 22:21

jaamy, i wondered who it was and was about to delete it when nosiness curiousity got the better of me

Sugarmagnolia · 03/06/2008 09:26

Hi jammy - I joined last week and gave wolfgirl my email but I didn't get anything from you yesterday. Email is [email protected] - is it too late to add my stats for this week?? Lost a pound and a half.

Was pretty good except for Saturday night when we went out for a looovveeely meal and I couldn't resist dessert.

cadelaide · 03/06/2008 10:24

Oh FGS, still no loss for me.

Right.

This week I'm going to go for it and next week I will have lost 2lb. You've seen it here in black and white.

Sugar, you did well. How's everyone else?

JustJaamy · 03/06/2008 10:29

Mornin'!

Well, it's been a slow start but I think I am getting hte hang of it. God Bless Wolfgirl, she really has been a saint the last few weeks!

Firstly, I have realised another ommision in my email (thanks for reminding me NAB). The weekly food ban...

I thought that this week we could try to cut out milky drinks, ie no latte's, cappies, hot chocs, horlicks, etc. What do you think? Even skinny (skimmed milk) ones. Only exception would be the very flavourless light ones. Unless anyone has a better idea.

Fruity - how did you get on the rest of yesterday? I always find that if there is anything (and I mean anything) worth eating in the cupboard/fridge at all it never lasts very long. Like you, I am trying not to buy it cos I know I just won't be able to resist. Jeans buttons are probably a better indication of slimming and firming than weight so keep going, scales or no scales!

NBL - how did you get on with your good intentions on Sunday evening?

Cadders - thanks for the nice comment. I am going to try my best, though not feeling 100% at present. And I think you deserve a very big star for putting the chocs in the bin. Well done you, determined lady!

Dinny - will drop you an email to let you all about our little project. Welcome on board!

And Sugar - don't worry will add in your stats this week and send email to you a bit later on, too. Well done on that 1.5lb loss. What a great start! Re: Saturday night, don't forget, we're allowed one night off each week and you can go as wild as you like (and then regret it on weigh-in day!)

DMM - LOL at the patio and making your poor DH laugh. You are evil! Hope the pain is subsiding in your derriere. You know the problem, don't you? The weight that you have lost has obviously come off your bum and there just wasn't enough padding there when you came off the bike.

I haven't weighed myself yet today as have decamped to mother's house for a bit of pampering. She has scales but not the one's I usually use so would probably give false reading. Will report back tomorrow if I make it back home.

TTFN

JustJaamy · 03/06/2008 10:32

Cadelaide - Well done for not putting anything on! Don't give up...you are heading in the right direction. The summer is (nearly) here and you WILL fit into those summer togs!

Sugarmagnolia · 03/06/2008 11:16

I didn't know about the weekly food ban but I don't drink milky drinks anymore anyway so should be fine on that front! Pleased about the 1.5 lbs but that only gets me back to where I was a few weeks ago. I think I'll have to do it a few weeks in a row before I really believe it.

cadelaide · 03/06/2008 22:22

Carrot sticks are lovely, aren't they? (sigh)

cadelaide · 04/06/2008 13:58

I do love a dry oatcake mid-morning.....

kingprawntikka · 04/06/2008 14:37

Honestly Cadelaide, will you stop flaunting your exotic food in front of us !!
Take it you're having a tough week ? I am also trying extra hard this week. We have two parties to go to in July and its suddenly hit me July isn't that far off !

peachygirl · 04/06/2008 20:02

Sigh I thought I had done OK and stayed still but alas no half term and treats at my mums helped me put weight back on.
We have lots of birthdays in school at the moment the table in the staffroom was groaning with chocolate cake today. I had four [shame] funsized chocolate bars. My thinking was that four were probably equal to one normal sized one.

cadelaide · 05/06/2008 13:14

How are you doing KPTikka? I'm being ridiculously good. Friday nights are often my downfall though,it's the glass or two of wine.

peachygirl, I do sympathise. Every time I volunteer at DCs school it is someone's birthday and the staffroom is always stuffed with cake. All of the staff (except the lone skinny male) are on a perpetual diet so they all sit 'round with meagre little pots of salady stuff and then follow it up with a teensy slice of cake which is never enough so then they have another......and so it goes on.

dinny and NAB, you're both a bit quiet, are you wasting away?

I am pleased to announce the quality streets have all been eaten, and not a single one by me. I have learnt that to even sniff them is fatal, I have to hold them at arm's length.

kingprawntikka · 05/06/2008 15:24

Wow ! Admire the will power with the quality street Cadelaide, I have been doing well this week. I am trying to make healhier choices during the day, and have stocked up on dried fruit, nuts, diet cereal bars, extra bananas and low fat houmous.I know what you mean about a glass of wine though . I read a quote recently , can't remember who by, but it said willpower is dissolvable in wine!! So true.
