Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

Oh thanks wolfgirl, i'm a bit suprised too. i broke my chocolate fast because i said i was going to give it up for six week . That was Tuesday and i've had chocolate twice ( clearly a bad move so i've given it up again !) We had a really hectic weekend ,and ended up weith fish and chips on Saturday lunchtime and a meal at Nandos on friday night., and i've had some crisps . But no i haven't been binge eating .

cadelaide · 20/05/2008 12:46

I got the spreadsheet thanks Wolfgirl.

cadelaide · 20/05/2008 12:48

Oh, and KPT, don't forget that research shows if you have a slow weight loss you're more likely to keep it off in the long term.

kingprawntikka · 20/05/2008 12:53

Thank you Cadelaide, will do better next week ... will do better next week!! I think i should go over to Nigeria and stay with Suedonim cos i wasn't hungry at all when it was hot, as soon as it turned colder i got hungrier.
Well done on your loss this week .

NotABanana · 20/05/2008 12:56

I have done crap.

The scales say I have put 4lbs on but no way. I don't feel it. I don't look it so how? I know I comfort eated at the weekend (worth it tho for OJ) but even so. I am fed up even more now. I also can see my c-section scar for the first time in ages so

kingprawntikka · 20/05/2008 13:00

Oh poor you NAB , I know just how you feel . its so disheartening. I don't feel like i've put all that weight on either. I am still trying to fit lots of exercise in, and did four hours gardening on Sunday. Surely that must off set a couple of bad meals and some crisps!!

Wolfgirl · 20/05/2008 13:26

I think you guys might need some licorice! get my meaning??? bet if your bowels shift you will find the pounds drop off LOL

OP posts:
NotABanana · 20/05/2008 14:11

Wolfgirl · 20/05/2008 14:19

ah, that wasnt helpful for you then NAB's - eh! Ummmm...... more fruit in general perhaps? either way, keep going my friend, you will be OK next week, just you watch

duomonstermum · 20/05/2008 15:42

oh well..... i guess the week of barbecues caught up with me but it was worth the break from crappy weather and not getting out of the house. have been taking non-drowsy hayfever tablets but they make me soooo sleepy!!! can't open the spreadsheet but that would be because i've upgraded to vista premium without backing stuff up! so that would be plus 1.5lbs then i'm off to invent scales that tell me what i want to hear ie you're fab. of course that doesn't make you look like a heifer. that top sooo goes with those trousers. what mufin top??

NotABanana · 20/05/2008 16:07

Thanks Wolfgirl. Nice to be called someone's friend.

kingprawntikka · 20/05/2008 18:07

Good plan duomonstermum ! When my daughter was small she had a mirror that talked back to you .Its conversation was limited to "you are so pretty" "you look just like a princess" and "i wish i was as pretty as you "... but hey what more does a girl need.
sorry you had a bad week too. At least we can all console each other.

suedonim · 20/05/2008 19:11

Guess how much weight I lost this week? None, zilch, zero, nil, nada, nought. A big fat nothing.

KPT, would you like me to meet you at the airport?

peachygirl · 20/05/2008 19:27

I'm with you suedonim. I've lost nothing . I'm quite pleased really as it hasn't been the best week for me.
Things have been much better today and I have walked loads, So I am geared up for a good week. Is it puddings this week?
I'm going to try the pedometer this week on my work days ,especially on friday when I take 4 classes for music and movement.

nappybaglady · 20/05/2008 20:23

Hello all. I've gained 1lb which I'm rather relieved by because I thought it might be so much worse. I've been living the high life for a few weeks and am ready to get back to the straight & narrow now. My lovely jeans are just waiting for me in the spare room wardrobe and I WILL fit into them again soon (quite soon)

I just want to say how inspirational you all are for me at the mo. Whenever I start feeling nibbly I think of all of you out there, all aiming for the same thing, and I manage to resist. Right now I'm hungry but determined. This weight loss plan is working so much better for me (i mean attitude-wise, rather than having lost loads of weight)than any other fad I've tried before because it feels like a genuine change in lifestyle. I once did the Carol Vorderman 28 day detox and lost about 8lbs. Bu after 28 days I went back to eating my normal stuff. I feel that with this plan the weight will come off slowly but it will give me chance to break my bad habits. So I hope that you are all feeling the same. Good luck and stay strong-willed

This morning scales said 2 lbs less than yesterday and I did rubbish yesterday.

Wolfgirl · 21/05/2008 08:50

Morning all. NABS, you are all my Cyber friends - but if you lived local, you would be round for a cuppa, kids playing in the garden... bbq's - so yes, you are my friends!

why not, eh!

Wolfgirl · 21/05/2008 08:53

Oh, yes. No puddings this week. Im going to cut biscuits out again this week too. It was a real struggle for me tbh, but heck.... I lost 2lb! I was due though. So no puddings and no biscuits for me.

I went trying on bikinis again last night ladies. I CANNOT get rid of those back jowlers, they are grosssssssssssssssss, just gross.

Im hoping that being on holiday I will do loads of swimming and exercise and they will shift.

Sometimes I look at myself and think... yeah you not doing bad for a 45 yr old chicken, and other times I feel like a fat flabby over tired, fatigues, haggard 80 yr old. sob. . My tummy hurts this morning too, very bloated. still no TOTM. I hope it doesnt happen on holiday bah humbug.

OP posts:
Wolfgirl · 21/05/2008 08:58

NABS re your scales.... I really do think it is our bodies and not the scales. I expect you had some water retention, or were hot and bloated, or you are due on.... 2lb can easily put on just by these things or similar.

Dont despair, do keep going! You are great, and its great to have your encouragement and wit - we L O V E youuuuuuuuuuu!!!

Have a lovely day, all.

Right. what do I have to do then? Just not eat in the evening? Does it work? Problem is that if I work a late shift I can often not get a chance to eat until I get home at 10ish. and does redwine count as eating?

suedonim · 21/05/2008 13:00

Thank you for the compliment, Christie. What I'm really aiming for is losing my tummy.

I weight so much more than I used to (for years and years I was 7st 6lb and now I'm around 10st) and although I don't want to go back to that weight, I'd like to get into size 12 trousers instead of 14's. And actually, my size 14's are getting a bit baggy!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 21/05/2008 13:24

Ok, thanks to stalking NAB I'm in. But rather than me read 500+ posts can someone tell me what I have to do in easy words please

Is it just not eating after dinner? I dont eat dinner until 8.30pm so there isnt much time to snack after that.

Wolfgirl · 21/05/2008 13:32

Hello NaughtyNigella and FunkyGlassSlipper welcome!!!

Well..... the thread title says Easy Peasy diet... but several weeks in, I think we can all say.... actually its quite hard work. First few weeks everyone is exicited and lose a few pounds, then you just mark time, then you put a pound or so on.. then stay steady... then lose a pound. So to keep the weight loss steady, you have to be really strict with yourself. NN - yes you can drink alcohol - but the idea is that we are dieting, so if you really want to lose weight....

Results can be slow... yet sure.

The idea is that you stop picking in the evening. We stop at 6pm! You can have your main meal after 6pm - even gone 8:30pm, but no picking whilst waiting for your meal iyswim?

You can pretty much eat what you like during the day... although in moderation. We suggest an exerise per week and a food elimination.

If you would like to join you can start this week. I will add you to the spreadsheet and my circulation list (goes out on a Monday night). You can see from the spreadsheet your progression and how things are going generally.

Peachygirl is going to create a Fridge Certificate for the people or person who has lost the most weight in a week - just a bit of fun.

I have set up a spreadsheet, and once a week - Tuesday morning, you weigh yourself first thing in the morning, no clothes and no food (always feels better too), then you send me the stats.

I need:

Your current weight
Target weight
Incentive.

You can CAT me (if you subscribe) and I will mail you back when I have your details. OR you can just leave your emal addy here, something like

janice @Imonadiet .co.uk
