Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Wolfgirl · 18/03/2008 08:57

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

Nigeria... i'm not suprised you aren't feeling very hungry then, it must be too hot to think about preparing food etc. Are you there with work, or is it your permanant home?
And you must make time for yourself, without feeling guilty. After all you are a very important part of your family and you need to keep yourself well and happy

rebelmum1 · 16/05/2008 12:07

Wolfgirl · 16/05/2008 12:55

I think I forgot to put my weight for this week. It's 9st 11.5lb.

Is your mum, my mum, Wolfgirl?? Those conversations could be repeated word for word by my mum, with substitutes such as car/shoes/wastepaper basket/house/egg cup and so on and so forth, lol! One positive of being in Nigeria is that the phone lines are so bad that even if I can get a line out the chat is usually confined to 'Hello, it's me, ME! Hello are you still there, yes I'm still here, what, what? We're fine, FINE! Hello, HELLO? Click....buzzzzzzz.....'

Kingprawn, we're British expats. Been here two yrs, two more to go.

There wasn't much in the supermarket today, though if I were a dog I'd have an incredible choice of food. I've never seen so much dog chow in one place.

Saturday morning giggles.....

A little girl asked her mother, 'How did the human race appear?'

The mother answered, 'God made Adam and Eve and they had children and
so was all mankind made.'

Two days later the girl asked her father the same question.

The father answered, 'Many years ago there were monkeys from which the
human race evolved.'

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, 'Mom how is it
possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad
said they developed from monkeys?'

The mother answered, 'Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about
my side of the family and your father told you about his.'

I've fallen off the wagon a bit I'm due on and have been feeling very very nibbly, bit of choccy biscuits etc. Not lots and lots but a few [shame]
In the Times on Saturday in the body and soul section there was a diet plan to lose weight oer a month and lots of the food ideas were really good especially the lunch ideas. I'll see if I can link to it.

peachygirl · 18/05/2008 21:24

here The deadline diet

Wolfgirl · 19/05/2008 09:32

Morning peachygirl

I think I eat like that anyway, although not religiously

Its something I might consider on return from holiday - but my head is too full to contemplate meal planning at the mo. And I think to follow that plan, you should meal plan - no?

I do like the suggested exercises though, and will print out the list and try and do some of them.

Also ladies, I'm very happy if any of you want a rest or a call it a day for a while. Dont feel embarrassed either, you have all done incredibly well. Its just that I think NO PICKING in the evening gives us all freedom not to be worrying about calorie counting or meal planning. I think by now, most of us have been on one or more diets in the past, we know what foods are high cal, high colesterol by now, and so we can moderate our own intake the way we need to - everyone is different too. I have a friend who is incrediblly slim, and she loves cream, chocolate.... anything fattening, and man does she pack it away - and she's in her 40's! Our metabolic rates differ, so its horses for courses.

Having said that, I will continue with the no picking as it suits me for now. It can be hard work thats for sure.... but we shouldnt feel too bad if we do pick for a few nights. This should be a lifestyle we are aiming for.... not just a short term plan...which in turn means, that if it is a lifestyle we can maintain or continue to lose some weight. Then when we do pick.... its OK.

Rattle over, but thank you Peachygirl for the link.

Im sure if you did want to do it, lots of ladies will join you. As I say, I may have a think about it when I get back from hols.

Have a great day

peachygirl · 19/05/2008 19:05

I wouldn't use it as a four week plan. I just thought it had some good ideas which suited me, especially on the days I go to work for lunch ideas, where realistically I have to plan what I eat or I have soup every day.
More importantly they featured food I have in my fridge / cupboard already. I hate to read diets where the suggestions need lots of ingredients.
I eat and like to eat lots of the suggestions on the plan and could easily incorporate them into my days. Today I had an egg salad sandwich for lunch and DD had a boiled egg too, something I haven't had for ages and we both really enjoyed them.

I get fed up of eating the smae things, especially in the evenings Dh is quite boring in his food likes and truth be told is quite picky especially about fruit and veg. I thought the lemon noodles seemed tasty.

Not having the best time in our house I'm still waiting for my period to arrive. (waiting to press the button on a persona machine) DD is being very clingy and has a cold which we all have. She was awake at 4.45 am so I am exhausted and have been argueing with DH. I went to a baby group today where I felt very dowdy. Everyone seemed made up to the nines wearing lovely clothes etc

Wolfgirl · 19/05/2008 20:25

awwwrrr... Peachy. How are you feeling now? a little better I hope. I expect your body/hormones are flying if your TOTM is due, and one never feels good about themselves in the run up. I expect you looked just as nice as everyone else, at the baby group.... and heck, even if you were a bit shabby or messey, or no makeup (whatever) - so what. Dont worry yourself over such trivial things, people would want to spend time with you, not worry about the lipstick you didnt apply - seriously. Put things into perspective my love - Burma... China.... the Fritzl Austria case. Y'see, you feel better already LOL

Tomorrow is a new day. Try not to let the sun go down on an arguyment with DH. Forgive and let things go. It will only be you who is eaten up with sorrow... no one else. Mind you - if you are desperate you could play a trick on DH, say... put salt in his tea instead of sugar he he he.

Once again, thanks for the link for the alternative diet. Yes, they have some great meal ideas. I shall pinch some, and especially the exercise.

Look forward to getting your stats for tomorrow.

Just to say to all my other ladies.... you are doing so well. WELL DONE to all of you.

Dah nahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I'v managed to lose at least a pound this week ladies. OK, so last week I was 14st 1lb, and the scales this AM said....

13st 13993....

so does that mean Ive lost 2lb, or one poooond? with the .99999 etc being so close to a whole pound, Im wondering if Im kidding myself that Ive lost 2, and really only lost 1.

Maybe I should be hard on myself and say it was only 1lb, and then next week, it could look better when I lose another full pound.

Darn these scales that are really precise. DARN them to bits

OP posts:
cadelaide · 20/05/2008 12:16

Hi Wolfgirl, I would say 1lb so you've got some credit waiting for next week!

I've lost 1lb. Was hoping for more but at least it's in the right direction.

It's going to be a long hard slog for me I think, but I'm still pretty motivated.

Have I missed the spreadsheet, btw?

Wolfgirl · 20/05/2008 12:21

Hi ya Cadders.

well! re my loss, was talking to a friend and she reckons I will have lost 2lb, cos last week I was 14st 1lb and several ounces, this week Im 13st 13lb and several ounces. I think it is 2lb, and besides > I've not seen 2lb loss on my stats since we started.... so Im due

wrt to the spreadsheet, I forgot to attach it, so sent a second mail out with it attached. Are you sure you didnt get it? I will send it again for you tonight. Sorry about that.

Hi everyone, i can make you feel better wolfgirl. I have managed to put on 3 lbs after doing so well the week before and losing 3 and a half. i feel so cross with myself!!

Wolfgirl · 20/05/2008 12:33

oh no! whats happened KPT? do you think you need the loo, or are bloated, water retention? I cant imagine you can put 3lb back on in one week. Surely you havent been binge eating?

awwwrrr.... sweetie, am so sorry for you, whatever the reason

OP posts:
cadelaide · 20/05/2008 12:35

Go on then Wolfie, you have your 2lb.

Hi KPT. I was a bit despondent when I weighed this morning too, cos I've been really good this week.

I think we have to remind ourselves that we're still heading in the right direction, it just might be a bit slower than we hoped. Think about your 1/2 lb loss in the last 2 weeks, not this weeks 3lb gain.
