Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Wolfgirl · 18/03/2008 08:57

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

Hello All

Am I too late to join in with you???

I am terrible for snacking at night and I think would make such a difference to me if I had the will power to stop.

I had my second baby 6 weeks ago, and where it all fell off without me having to think about it first time around, think this time round my big tummy (bum, thighs etc) is here to stay.

I am bridesmaid for my friend in July, she has already brought my dress and at the moment I can't do the zip up at the back so need to get slimming ASAP.

Oh and I don't have CAT, or have any real idea what it is, does that matter?

Wolfgirl · 20/04/2008 19:47

You're welcome christie - but Ive not heard from Thomcat, so if you can contact her that would be great

justjaamy - YUP!!!! I sooooooo know what you mean. I jumped on the scales this AM and gained 1lb, which is ridiculous cos Ive done nothing different. In fact I should be still losing the rate Im going, Im being really good But Im old now and just waiting for menopause to kick in - and girlie time is a little irregular these days, but I still get bloatedness and swelling and the moods!!!!!!! It takes ages to arrive sometimes even though I have symptoms like a week or more beforehand.

But listnen! we are women, and this is how our bodies function, so we MUST'NT be hard on ourselves. I do honestly believe that only 3 out every 5 weeks, will feel like we have lost weight. If you see more weight loss then thats great. But I think we will all get false reading a few days maybe a week or so before our periods, during and possibly a few days after. And then whoooooo whooo! the scales will jump right down and we will all be happy chappies again! Thats what Im hoping for, anyway!

and yes!!!!!! a dumb bell! LOL

Bky - of course you can my love. If you dont subscribe to CAT, just leave me your email in this format - i.e

bky @ dollymixturehouse.com

Can I have:

your current weight
target weight
Incentive.

I've spoken to soooooooooooo many people - even friends without babies, and too say the evening is the worst, and they just pick. I wont deny that it can be hard work, especially around time of the month, but it does work, and it is worth it.

when you give me your email I shall email you the rules. You will pleased to learn that we do have ONE night off! and can pick away at whatever we like. Yeyyyyyyyy!

My incentive is my holiday begin June. Id like to lose another 8lbs - which would make my weight loss a Stone, so Im having to be very very good. And to try and get rid of some cellulite would be good too, hence the exercises.

Speak soon. xx

Wolfgirl · 21/04/2008 09:19

awwwrr thomcat - Not sure that you should be dieting whilst breast feeding. I think its vital that you eat when your body needs it, and that pretty much means sustaining it, even into the evening. With healthy food, not biscuits or chocolate. Although purleeeeazzze I know so well how easy it is to reach for easy sugary quick fix foods.

If you need something sweet, why not buy good quality healthy flap jacks as an evening treat, or good quality Fruit cake (not rubbish cakes full of sugary nothingness)

And healthy nuts and raisens are a good for picking on, brazils, walnuts, cashews etc. Measure a small amount... say an egg cup full or slightly more. And make yourself some banana milkshakes and add yoghurt, they are really filling and take the need for sweet things away.

Let me know if you want to continue, but I would say for you.... you CAN eat or pick in the evening, but only healthy stuff... and only in moderation. Not sure what else to suggest or how to help, but would love you to stay with us.

Have a nice day Thomcat

Hi Wolfgirl, I did CAT you but not heard anything.

I'll try again, not had problems with it before.

I've been pretty good, btw. Went off the rails a bit over the weekend but I've definitely had some lean evenings!

Wolfgirl · 21/04/2008 12:28

OK cadelaide - I will check my emails when I get home. I did sort some mails out last night, and thought you were one of them {hmm}

I do have to say, and I will check this with MNHQ it seems to take an age for them to pass on CAT requirements, up to a day later I get them. Is this the norm for everyone else?

OP posts:
cadelaide · 21/04/2008 12:31

Aaah, well I think I did it on Friday and they do say that out of working hours it may take a while to be passed on.

Not sure I want to see my weight in writing anyway

NotABanana · 21/04/2008 12:31

Have stopped picking after 6pm. Found it so easy to do.

Currently eating a plate of baby leaves, coleslaw, cheese, mung beans or something like that, a bit of cheese and salad cream.

Don't miss coke at all and drinking sparkling water.

Feel like I might have even lost a pound when I way myself tomorrow!

cadelaide · 21/04/2008 12:49

Oh bloody, bloody hell.

Someone just asked when my baby's due (I'm at work) but I'm not pregnant.

Now it's possible he misunderstood our conversation (about how many dcs etc), and I really didn't think my tummy was that huge, but there we are. I now have an added incentive; to not look pregnant.

cadelaide · 21/04/2008 13:03

Oh God, and i went red and everything

Wolfgirl · 21/04/2008 13:20

oh cadders, bless!!!!!!!!! ignorant bugger anyway, no doubt what would he know.

You will be fine! by the summer we will have you auditioning for Baywatch 2008 series

Oh I did feel sorry for him as well as myself, he's very young and he apologised for being "idiotic".

Everyone is doing sooooo well, Im really proud of you. Tonight, Im feeling like a stuffed bloated baboon. I went to the shopping mall to try bikinis again, and I just felt like crying. My back jowlers are just sitting there.... hanging and blobby, and my cellulite is just the most unsightly rotton hidious nasty yuk yuk yuk pitted orange peel skin you could ever ever want to see. Or NOT want to see.

Im gonna get tough with the exercises this week, and will be checking up on you twice next week. Im needing encouragement myself, so be there for me my friends. It doesnt help that you know what is lurking, so I quit understand where this self-pity and despair is coming from - just humour me!!!

Right, off to update the spreadsheet with all our lovely newbies
