Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

I am making myself snack during the day - on fruit. Because I know that if I don't I'll get hungry / light-headed / grumpy, won't be able to cope with the -monsters- children, and then I'll binge. So I have bought lots of different sorts of fruit and am aiming for 3 a day. Instead of loads of chocolate and biscuits. Its quite nice actually ().

I've also decided that I am going to stop weighing myself every morning - my weight goes up and down all week and it doesn't help to know about it! No scales till next Tuesday.

MamaChris · 15/04/2008 19:49

FoF - me too! I love night time chocolate after ds has finally gone to sleep (still struggling with a nighttime "routine" - but that's a whole other thread...). I'm trying to stick to 1 bar chocolate/day (wolfgirl - you did say we can eat whatever we like in the day?) and load the early part of my day with snacks, so that by the time I've had tea, I'm not likely to snack. Kinda like a young baby cluster feeds, maybe? Anyway. Some days it works better than others, but at least that means some days it works

No weight loss this week, but I was gaining 1lb/wk before starting this, so a loss of 1lb over 3 weeks is quite positive for me

NotABanana · 15/04/2008 20:29

Have just done 22 minutes on the exercise bike. (4km/15.6calories)

I buy so much fruit. For the kids. I don't like to eat it as it is for them. at me.

Wolfgirl · 15/04/2008 21:29

NotABanana - OK, easy solution, eat more filling foods, start with weetabix and a slice of toast, OJ, cup of tea; then have a snack about 10:30 - couple of biscuits maybe, large banana or make up a fruit smoothie (just need to blend a banana, milk and some yoghurt togethe, Mmmm Hmmm yummy); lunch - pasta ? then afternoon snack - fruit or cake with a cuppa? then evening meal and make sure you pad it out with veg, loads of veg!!!!

FruitfulOfFruit - well done for snacking on fruit! My snacks are: AM biscuits with a cup of tea, afternoon fruit, or cake. I will be working on breaking the biscuit habit in the next few weeks, and dragging you lot with me! ho ho hoho. That will be a hard one for me, I do LIKE my morning biscuits.

MamaChris - yes, I did. Thats right. But watch out for the little extra twists Im going to be throwing out at you all. This week we are cutting out FIZZY drinks, next week..... I'll just have to have a think, and you will just have to wait and see. Some weeks it will be easy peasy for you, others..... like a holiday in the artic or miltary boot camp! I like my odd bit of chocolate too, and we have heaps of easter eggs still over. If my LO's were older Id let them scoff the lot in one go. But if I give them too much now, they just get hyper, so they sit there.... on the shelf.... winking at me. I broke into one (albeit it was tiny) when I got home from work today at about 5pm.... Man I will struggle when I say its cutting out chocolate this week!

Well done MammaC for maintaining and NOT putting on. But keep going. and if there is anything in addition you CAN cut out, then do have a go.

notabanana - way to go!!!!! well done, now go drink lots of water, stave off the hunger or munchies for later. Do you like smoothies? they are delish! try those if you dont like to eat fruit whole.

OP posts:
MamaChris · 15/04/2008 22:13

wow wolfgirl - am impressed - you have easter eggs still left over?!? that makes over 3 weeks you have resisted temptation? amazing. I can normally last... ohh... minutes if I try really hard

Wolfgirl · 16/04/2008 08:27

Morning all

Yeah we do, about 6 I think. LOL. Last year they lasted till nearly the summer. As the LO's get older, it wont be the same. They'll be scoffed in no time.

Have had 2 breakfasts today to catch up and a bit of salad and a choc chip hoime made muffin for lunch but still feel hungry. Might have a snack in a bit. No idea what I am having for tea yet. Might be scampi.

Wolfgirl · 16/04/2008 14:09

HI ya, good on yer! Ive been feeling bloated most of the day, maybe I got you know what lurking! Which will make my scales shoot up next week no doubt. Im chewing gum at the moment, then in a min I will make a nice cup of tea, have a chocky biscuit, then before I leave for home (am at work) I will eat my apple. Then have tea at about 7:30 / 8ish (depending what time we get the kids down)

I usually like to Pick when its girlie time, but will hold fast. Jowlers on my back feel horrid and flabby at the mo.... and . Must keep going!!!!!!

Wolfgirl · 17/04/2008 08:44

Morning ladies!!

last night was tough, but I kept going. How yer all getting on?

OP posts:
NotABanana · 17/04/2008 09:08

I was bad because I didn't go on the exercise bike but I was good that i didn't have any crisps and toast at 9pm when hubby did. (Toast has never smelt soooo good.)

JustJaamy · 17/04/2008 10:47

Was good last night for a change - even with DH away. ALone in the house with all that food and I didn't touch any of it! Lots of tea and ironing, though!

Well done to all of us!

cadelaide · 17/04/2008 16:48

Hello!

Well I've been lurking and I've done the "not eating in the evening" thing before and i know it works for me but i just need a bit more motivation, so can i join in?

Please?

I know I'm late in on this but my jeans are too, too tight and something must be done.

(Oh, do I have to give an email address? I'd rather not if it'll work that way.)

cadelaide · 17/04/2008 16:49

Now i guess I'd better read the thread properly!

cadelaide · 17/04/2008 17:14

Oh, I've just seen when you all started, I'm much too late aren't I?

Wolfgirl · 17/04/2008 17:22

Hi there cadelaide - of course its not too late, anyone is welcome.

You should leave your email i.e

cadelaide dot burgerking at winkypooh dot com

burgerking I got food on the brain!!!

I can then add you to my spreadsheet which gets sent out once a week - updated, and you can see how you, and everyone else is progressing.

Im starting to feel a bit bad now, as there are loads of diet threads here on MN, I just hope Im not treading on anyones toes, or they think Im competing with them for members, as it were

Oh and for the record, so far there are 4 of us who have lost between 6 and 4lb in 4 weeks, just by not eating in the evening.

I throw in an exercise each week now, and have starting suggesting that we cut something out in the week too. This week it is FIZZY drinks.

Be nice to have you on board!

Hello Christie - of course you can. Yes you can CAT me, I suscribe, so no worries. When you mail, can you tell me:

Your current weight
Target weight
Incentive
real name (my own purpose, not for public domain)

I will add you to the spreadsheet, and send the ss to you tonight or whenever I receive your mail. And the rules of course LOL

Yes, picking in the evening is the worse. My diet is not really a diet tbh, just a stop picking in the evening. You just have to STOP at 6pm, you can have your main meal after 6pm, even have a glass of wine (only one), or instead of wine, a small low cal pudding. But no picking whilst dinner is cooking and no picking whilst watching TV after dinner

It can get hard, and sometimes you go to bed feeling VERY hungry. But its at this point that your body is working to use up what is already in store. Its like an extended fast.

And each week I give you an exercise to do, so will send you that exercise too.

Wolfgirl · 17/04/2008 18:31

oh and I forgot one VERY important detail!!! We have ONE night off a week. I just had mine tonight, and had strawberries and ice-cream, yuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmyyyy!

OP posts:
Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 11:23

Morning ladies. I had my night off last night, and really went to town. I think I have girlie time coming, and I get into this trance like, exhaustive state, and will-power goes out the window. I must try harder tonight! Poor show last night, really filled me face with rubbish food, sweets and chocolate.

ah well. shows just cos Im organizing, that I struggle too.

How are you all doing. Ive not heard from loads of you in ages! Stay in touch.

kingprawntikka · 18/04/2008 11:50

Morning everyone,
wolfgirl glad you enjoyed your night off. I had mine last night too . Had a quarter of a chocolate tart. It was yummy !! . But apart from that i have had no chocolate for a week and 3 days now. Never had fizzy drinks really anyway so thats easy for me,and have done 3 lots of exercise this week. One hour ice skating with my kids and 2 separate sessions using my Davina- Power of Five dvd, so i really hope i see a difference on the scales.

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 13:17

everything is swollen up this morning...girlie time is approaching so have very little chance of having lost weight this week. Nothing at all to do with the chinese takeaway we had last night . Well, we had visitors!

Well done Christie for not picking!

Wolfgirl dumb bell!
