Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

my nose is better. now if only coughing didn't make my lungs fall out i'd be fine lol just did double dips, just for you. although i think all the stretching etc i did during painting should count! [pout]

peachygirl · 13/04/2008 08:31

Hi everyone. We are off for a few days to visit family good luck for Tuesday.

JustJaamy · 13/04/2008 11:07

Arghhh! Had night off diet last night and feel a bit pooh for it! Don't have big hopes for Tuesday as been nibbling a bit this week with DH away. DH, on the other hand says that he's been good so I might send his results through instead of mine!

Have a lovely break peachy!

Wolfgirl - I have been doing the chair dips, but that's about all. No other excercise this week as I've lost my babysitter. Mum gone in for knee replacement.

DMM - surely painting will have had some positive calorie-burning, muscle-toning type effects. You can come and do my decorating if you like? [cheeky emoticon]

Good luck everyone for last 2 days before weight in!

futurity · 13/04/2008 12:06

oh dear...I'm not doing very well at the moment...thought it would be better when the kids went back to school but finding it hard to keep on track. Not TOO bad in the evening , I just wanted to be better in the day but still find myself picking at crap. Grumpy children full of snot not helping

duomonstermum · 13/04/2008 14:02

jammy, i only take these notions when i've been at the sudafed. the rest of the time i use mind over matter. if i don't mind, it don't matter

Wolfgirl · 14/04/2008 09:27

One last big effort before tomorrow ladies! and dont forget your arm exercises. I shall be setting a new exercise tomorrow, AND a little something else for us. ha ha ha ha

OP posts:
JustJaamy · 14/04/2008 13:14

DMM - am rushing out to get me some sudafed now to get me in the notion of decorating!

Wolfgirl - did 20 dips this am...expect to look like Arnie Swartzenegger in no time!

Good luck for weigh in every one!

Wolfgirl · 14/04/2008 14:30

20 !!!! whey hey!!!!

Ive been feeling wretched with this cold, and exhausted with having family over, so have been lacking on the dips. By that I mean Ive only done them about 3/7 days. I will try and do some tonight.

New exercise tomorrow.!

Anyone else want to join??? we are doing really well, so just hop on!

OP posts:
NotABanana · 14/04/2008 19:54

I am doing terribly.

No exercise.

Want some food.

I am rubbish at this too.

Wolfgirl · 14/04/2008 20:44

awwwrrr.... can I help with you with anything? can I mail and encourage you everyday, or.... something?

You CAN do this. Honestly, I know, come the evening after putting LO's down, it is sooooooooo tempting to go pick, but it is exactly that, the picking, that is making us wonderful ladies so big.

TBH, Im not losing shed loads, but I have lost about 5 maybe 6lbs since we started this a couple, (3?) weeks back. Grief time flies, not sure when we started now, must be 3 weeks? I am trying really really hard though, and it is starting to pay off.

anyway, my clothes are feeling loads more comfortable. Im not getting in as much exercise as I would like - still got jowlers on my back, but my tummy IS going down, and the scales have shifted downwards too.

It is slow going, but Id rather it be gradual than silly fast, and go put it back on again in as many weeks.

Please still with it NAB, purrrleazeeee!

JustJaamy · 14/04/2008 21:05

NAB - I was just reaching for the popcorn (plain of course) when I saw your post. Have put lid back on the tub and am going to make myself a nice cup of tea instead.

WE CAN DO THIS!

JustJaamy · 14/04/2008 21:08

BTW - still no excercise here, except for wolfgirl's dips so looking forward to new task tomorrow. Give us a clue Wolfgirl...run 26 miles?...Cycle 20 miles?...1000 sit ups? There, now whatever you set us will seem easy peasy!

Wolfgirl · 14/04/2008 21:11

Think of a dog peeing up a tree, JustJaamy

JustJaamy · 14/04/2008 21:32

LOL wolfgirl - I'd rather not! But I think I know what you have in store for us. Will be dusting off my thong for the beach in June, then?

Wolfgirl · 15/04/2008 08:44

Morning ladies

I have lost 1lb this week, which is a surprise because Ive done little exercise and ate more during the day (cos Ive had family over) - at least I think Ive eaten more during the day....

So, in the 3 weeks since we started, I have lost FIVE big pounds.

Thats not bad eh!

Im looking forward to seeing your results girls! Keep going, you are all doing so well.

I've lost some ladies who originally wanted to do the diet, but its not too late to start, or re-join. Its more a life style diet with loads of benefits.

BENEFITS

  1. No calorie counting (yet!!)
  2. Saves money a) no need to buy extra special 'diet' food b) by not picking in PM, saves money on chocolate, popcorn, nuts, crisps, wine etc
  3. You DO lose weight.

Have a nice day everyone

Well done wolfgirl!

No weight loss for me this week but no weight gain either..hurrah! Next week I WILL have lost something. Walked to and from DD2's playgroup this am and round to DD1's nursery school AND did 40 mins on the exercise bike last night so am determined to get the exercise in this week...well we'll see how long it lasts!

futurity · 15/04/2008 13:25

stayed the same here as well. Started running again last week...went out 3 times for about 25 mins and did an hour of netball. Still not being as good as I should with eating though...can't seem to get back into things and not helped by ill children. WHEN WILL THE SNOT GO!!

NotABanana · 15/04/2008 14:51

Thanks to those who answered my post last night and pleased I inspired the lid going back on.

I have read the plan once and them forgotten it. The only thing I have done is stopped picking after 6pm (we have dinner about 7.15pm though) and no pudding most nights.

Have had no chance for exercise (hubby promised he will set the exercise bike up for me tonight) and I have put 1lb on.

I wouldn't care, all I had to eat yesterday was salad at 11am (breakfast), a wrap with cheese (12.30ish) and 2 jacket potatoes with butter (oops) and cheese/beans at 7ish.

Today I had Special K for breakfast, some mushroom soup and baguette for lunch and not enough to drink.

All DS1 has done for the last hour is ask for food.

Wolfgirl · 15/04/2008 15:56

but NotABanana , you ARE allowed to eat what you LIKE during the day!!!! You just have to stop picking after 6pm.

And! you can eat your tea after 6pm, just dont pick after 6pm, or whilst waiting for tea to cook.

Each week Im going to suggest an exercise to do, you can either isolate it and concentrate on that one exercise alone, or work it into your own routine.

And Im going to suggest cutting something out, food/drink each week. I meant to make the suggestion last night when I sent out the spreadsheet, but it took me forever to write that email, cos I had family over, and I couldnt concentrate.

So, this weeks exclusion is: fizzy drinks. NO fizzy drinks this week, other than

  1. carobonated water
  2. soda water with a cordial (lime, blackcurrent etc)

(and only if you must)

I will mail everyone tonight with the sad news. LOL

oh and NotABanana - do I have your email addy, I dont recognise your nickname, have you changed it?

NotABanana · 15/04/2008 16:07

I used to be 3NAB.

I will try harder. I had a can of coke today but will now reread what I am meant to be doing and do it properly.

Thanks for not giving up on me.

Wolfgirl · 15/04/2008 17:00

Your'e welcome. We wont let you fail. You wait, a couple of weeks time, it will drop off.

I have to apologise, as some entries seem not to have been saved from last week. I will be re-entering the data tonight.

Hi everyone, I feel bad too notabanana , have to report a weight increase this week . lb on so 10st 3 today. aaargh!! I have had a really bad week food wise, 'cos the oven broke on Tuesday last week and it took til saturday for Bosch to come and repair it. So lots of take aways and meals out. On the plus side wolfgirl i have stuck to my word and given up chocolate .I haven't had any since last Tuesday, and thats quite an achievement for me as i usually have some eveyday. Its killing me i have to say, but i figure i waste so many calories on it and have no restaint so its just got to be all or nothing!! I have also made an effort to do some exercise so hopefully getting on the right track now.

NotABanana · 15/04/2008 19:18

I am sure part of the problem is I don't get to eat enough in the day and my body is holding on to every bit of food I do have.

It took me 6 months to lose the weight after my first baby, 12 months after the second and my third baby is 2 months off being 3 and I still have pg weight to go.
