For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

IdrisTheDragon · 19/03/2008 11:19

I have the same surname as DH and not having a period at the moment. And eat meat.

Don't have a microwave though .

I have a head full of something like a cold or general snot or something equally unpleasant. I will ocnvince it to leave.

We are going to DH's family over Easter in Oxford ie go on Sat and come back on Monday.

zippitippitoes · 19/03/2008 11:20

my name? this is my proper name

my hand is manky

it has been sent a virtual kiss tho so should get magically better

eternalstudent · 19/03/2008 11:24

I am stealing an idea from someone else on MN and am doing a big easter BBQ for friends, maybe an easter egg hunt for the kids in the allotments (they are at the back of our garden and the fence has blown down).

Hopefully they will trample my neighbours patch, their dog keeps digging up DH's very neat raised beds and pooping everywhere.

I am dreaming about BBQing whole chunks of animal in a Jamie O style.... hmmmm..... mmeeeeaaatttt.... I meant vegetables, obviously....

lullabyloo · 19/03/2008 11:27

Boco · 19/03/2008 11:48

Ugh just had a really really hard driving lesson. Did turn in the road about 20 times, and reverse parking at the supermarket and was pretty bad at it. Even my very calm and jolly instructor got a bit sweaty and exasperated. Turn in the road shouldn't really be that hard, but there was a bus waiting and several cars and I kept lurching and stalling and i accelerated instead of braking so shot onto the pavement and into the front of a hedge - and from that point everything went wrong - and I shot out at a roundabout and nearly hit the side of a car and instructor had to apply emergency brakes.

It was a bit harder too because I've stiffened up all down one side after yesterdays falling over so 2 hours felt so long.

Instructor was very nice about it all though, so not disheartened, just in need of huge amounts of nicotine and maybe a stiff drink.

TigerFeet · 19/03/2008 11:49

oh dear

I have dh's name
and a microwave
period not due for a week or so

easternalstudent · 19/03/2008 11:50

Sloe Gin surely counts as fruit Boco?

Boco · 19/03/2008 11:51

I have a microwave and have no intention of menstruating for another week or two. If you've got a fag I'll form a breakaway faction with you?

IdrisTheDragon · 19/03/2008 11:55

Sorry about the not good driving lesson Boco. I passed my test nearly 15 years ago and am still useless at maneouveres (and can't spell it either).

IdrisTheDragon · 19/03/2008 11:59

Council tax bill came. I am Not Looking At It.

zippitippitoes · 19/03/2008 12:37

i mounted the pavement and the instructor had to apply the brakes to stop me poughing into awall in that lesson you have immediately before your test

i still passed fisrt time so dont worry

i am trying to think of stuff to do at the weekend

i guess iwll have even more blisters by then
