For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I went to Brownies for one night ONLY. My mother was violently opposed and then it transpired that I was not going to be Pixie with Joanna Cross but an Elf and I asked in fairly strenuous terms why this was so, and when my mother picked me up there were 'words'. I never went back.

I am hoping to improve on this with the Puppy Training group.

Boco · 18/03/2008 20:08

I was never allowed to join anything. My brother was the only one of us to ever try, he went to beavers for one week but he didn't like the noise.

MrsCarrot · 18/03/2008 20:09

No, it had me yearning for institutions.

MrsCarrot · 18/03/2008 20:10

boarding school, convents, the army, anything.

ahundredtimes · 18/03/2008 20:13

I wanted to be in the army too. I had a thing for uniforms - Joanna Cross's brownies uniform in particular.

filthymindedlurker · 18/03/2008 20:15

I adored brownies. I liked Guides. I am still Always Prepared. I carry safety pins and plasters rouns ith me.
But I got asked if I didn't think I might have outgrown Guides. I had major Issues with the uniform....and I was caught up a tree playing cards with Scouts at camp

I too have yearnings for institutions. Thouhh I like to pretend it's Communes. Really, anywhere where large groups of people queue up for watery cocoa would do it for me....

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 20:15

I always wanted to go to Boarding school

BBBee · 18/03/2008 20:17

hello

I skimmed the thread because there is talk of a film and I might like it and you might have told me crucial things so I skimmed.

Am glad about friday carrot - like boco says - enough time to think but not too long to wait.

Boco - right this is not vital information but could it have been a hornet? they are more likely to be out this time of year - and also although they are bigger than wasps their stings hurt less.

I am a bit about my job - there are some very sad things out there and I have been left all .

RosemaryBoxer · 18/03/2008 20:17

would you think i was lying if i said i was a guide captain for a while

RosemaryBoxer · 18/03/2008 20:18

i begged tpogo to noarding school but only my brother went and hated it

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 20:18

The best thing is to take 50 yr5 children away for a week - you get the institutiony thing and the authority.

It is also very stressful and knackering, so has its drawbacks but you get to be the one making the watery hot chocolate

filthymindedlurker · 18/03/2008 20:19

Zip, I can see you in the hat...
BBBbeeee, why are you sad?

BBBee · 18/03/2008 20:19

oh filth is back - how lovley.

100 I am worried about the tea - it will be weak and served with too much full cream milk and the woman will but brusk and busty and ruddy in a good entertaining way. Can you say no to tea? or offer to make it? or at the very least have it black?

lol fz and the microwave - my dad used to stop us looking at the microwave because it might cook the inside of my eyes.

RosemaryBoxer · 18/03/2008 20:19

i was also a patrol leader but left to get drunk and take drugs

Boco · 18/03/2008 20:20

Bee, could have been I suppose, it was fairly big - but the sting seemed to hurt a lot. I'm sure it was partly the shock thing, but she wailed for a good hour.

Sorry your job is making you sad. There'll be lots of very nice uplifting bits too won't there.

filthymindedlurker · 18/03/2008 20:20

no BBee, I am only here for about 10 more mins....I'll be back after Easter. And i'm only here today because dh is away and I heard sad things and wanted to see you all briefly.

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 20:22

BBBee, are you ok?

MrsCarrot · 18/03/2008 20:23

I sometimes warm things up in the microwave. It is on the washing machine, waist height.

MrsCarrot · 18/03/2008 20:23

Thanks for your post FMV. Am very pleased trainers were useful.

Boco · 18/03/2008 20:26

I only use microwave for making hot chocolate.
The half pint of milk is not good, the spoonfuls of chocolate powder are not good, and now there's the evil radiation melting my brain! It's ruined

My top lip looks like i've had botox, but only the top, so I look like a duck. It's interesting, I keep looking at it.

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 20:45

Ouch, Boco

BBBee · 18/03/2008 20:52

no don;t worry about me - I am tired so I am being all morose but it is not things I can change so I will stop moaning.

boco - it sounded all dramatic - the falling and the crying and all that stuff. The lip sounds interesting - a bit like julia roberts.

I really fancy some chocolate angel delight. So much so that I might go to the coop and buy some. That is not good.

Oh I am rambling now - you really didn't need to knoww that about the angel delight did you.

I am looking forward to 100 coming back and describing the dog people.

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 20:52

I need a successful Hot Cross Bun recipe - can any of you help?

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 20:54

Funny, I just found some strawberry angel delight in my cupboard. Someone must have brought it over for us.

BBBee · 18/03/2008 20:58

oooh - have just poeted on your bun thread and now you have angel delight - we have a spooky thing going on this eve ur.
