Will someone please remind me next time I do a 5k training run next to fields that spring time is manure time....

wooo hooooo has also got running mojo back.

Am not losing weight. Think I must be putting on muscle, yes. ahem. It's probably also because I'm starving, despite porridge before going.

Well done to those who have found their mojo !! Yeah !!!

I think I might do a short run tomorrow to get myself back into it (I know yesterday I said I was going to do it today but I had to go shopping today so... tomorrow... it is... I think....

ok
I have just redone week 4 and have done the whole lot every time, even though I have been ill this week. V.pleased with myself (tacked another 2 mins on the end of the last run tonight too so it was 7 mins)

am feeling more hopeful that I might actually be able to do this...

just done week 7 I'm nearly at 5km [double]

Top tip for those doing week 7 - just re do th 25 minuter of week 6 as at least he talks you through the other runs of that week so you know where you are. I found it worse just running to the music not knowing where I was time wise then he just pops on and says 1 minute to go.

Well done everyone! I've abandoned Rawb now and I'm just doing about a half hour run each time to my own music. I'm just trying to increase my speed gradually. I've already raised £100 for Race for Life and it's in May!

Sounds like everyone's doing great !

I am back in the game ! Finally stopped procrastinating and have just gone out. First run in 3 weeks so mapped out a 2 mile run and managed about 2.1 miles. Decided to go for distance now rather than time so not sure how long it took but it was quite slow. It is really windy and that made breathing a bit tricky but feel pretty pleased as a run to get back into it all.

Will try and do 2.5 miles on monday I think (she says, optimistically thinking Monday is a looong way away ).

great stuff everyone - wtf wheely! I've decided to do distance over time. I've got a 4 mile training run to do tomorrow. Hoping he weather is going to be ok as I'd prefer to runoutside, but looks like I'll be playing mindgames on the treadmill instead.

i did week 5 run 1 and it was fine
not sure about the 2x8 mins and 20 min runs to come though....

I am positively enjoying it though! And I never thought I'd enjoy running and want to go, I thought all that was bollocks - but it's true

Hi all-well ive done week 1 .First and third time where ok but 2nd was a no go as i think im mildly asthmatic and forgot to take a puff of ventolin .
Apart from that its great.
I will continue for at least another 2 weeks though on week 1 as i havent yet managed to do all 8 repetitions ,the most i managed was 5 but i fast walked the others.<br /> Am still really pleased with myself though and if nothing else i now know im def asthmatic.
my friend is a GP and told me if my peak flow dropped by 15 or more after exercise i was and it did by a lot more than that !.

I do need a better bra tho ! Have 34 g and struggling a little if anyone can recommend a bra that will stop them poking out my eyes !
x

I wear 2 bras and am a 36D! I wear a normal sports bra (£5 in Tesco) with a crop top over the top, to keep them all in order

did week 7 run 2 (with snow falling!!) with week 6 podcast and it made the 25 minues go much quicker as he talks the others through so you sort of know where you are.

Well done fakeblonde - I had my new m+s distance running bra on today - I'm only 34D though! It's a bit of a pain putting it over my head and fastening, but nothing moves afterwards! As furball says, maybe wearing 2 bras will help.

Wow, well done furball - in the snow!! I've just done 5.25 k along the canal - very very cold and the windchill was a bit of a factor - I had 3 hoodies on, and gloves (which my 11 year old then took from me as he'd forgotten his!).

Can't believe I can run so far (albeit slow & steady).

have been out this evening and have done week 5 run 2 - the 2 x 8 minute run one - with no problems at all. Hurrah!
pretty dubious about the 20 minuter on Friday though....

are you all housebound because of snow?

Hi All ! Well done to those in Blighty who have managed to jog through all that snow . I have just been out in at least 6 foot of snow which we have here in SW London (I think I live quite near where you moved from MrsJC so you would know what its like ). Anyway, MrsJC - you'll be fine doing the 20 minute run if you did the 2x8 mins ok.. honest.

Actually we have had quite a lot of snow flurries but none of its settled but I have just been out in between showers and ran 2.5 miles in ..... drum roll... 21.25 minutes . I had measured a distance on mapmyrun and should have kept running but psychologically felt a need to stop at 2.5 miles. So... next run I think I'll map 2.75 miles and see how it goes.

all that snow eh

wheelybug . I think we might have to bump you off to the 'proper' runners' thread. I don't think I can bear to ascertain just how slowly I am actually running - although I think it is faster than it was a couple of weeks ago.

I moved from Whitton/Twickenham. are you near there?

pinkspottywellies · 24/03/2008 20:27

I'm a 34G too fakeblonde. I wear a sportsbra from Bravissimo (can't remember the make) and a crop top (aerobics type top) over the top. Keeps 'em strapped down nicely.

Haven't been since last Tues cause I got a terrible sore throat on Wed night and haven't felt better yet. Throat's bleeding now

I don't think they've have me MrsJC - I can't run any sort of 'real' distance (2.5 miles seems a looooong way to me but I think it would be a mere walk in the park for them ).

I think we've had conversations about Kingston Hospital before - I'm the other side of Kingston - New Malden.

Well done Furball

Just done 28mins, hadnt been out since last Wednesday 'cos of Easter, so wasnt sure I'd do it, but it was fine. Despite bitter cold I was in bare sleeves and bright red face after 5 mins

Next phase is about speeding up a bit, so I can get a bit further in the same time. I do think I could tackle a 5km fun run now, if there was a fair wind.
