You are all motivating me again, I too need to lose a stone so I intend to jin you in the stone club. I am going to ask my neighbour if she wants to go out tonight as I think I can manage a small one. Was feeling quite proud last night.

Wheelybug · 16/05/2008 09:19

Well done furball on joining the stone club. I have 1 lb to lose and then I have too !! Which is a biiigg milestone. I do now weigh less than I have done since a while before I got pg with dd so that is good. Still want to lose at least 1/2 stone more.

Still a bit sniffly but headache gone and feeling better I think so fingers crossed I'll be ok. Does anyone get hayfever here ? I seemed to have developed it this year and can't work out if this is hayfever or something else.

Kind of beginning to wish I hadn't ordered the RFL vest looking at the weather .

Wheelybug · 16/05/2008 09:20

Also meant to say - good for you going out with neighbour tonight Dita... your good deed for the day .

Hope it wasn't too wet Minum...

SparklyPrincess · 16/05/2008 10:19

Hello all!

Wheelybug, I seem to get hayfever some years and not others. I think it's some sort of tree pollen that gets me as its always quite early in the season. I get a bit sniffly and my eyes itch. The type of pollen that gets me hasn't been about much this year. Only seem to have had a few days of it. Not complaining, obviously! DH getting quite snivelly sniffly so the grasses must be getting going now.

I would have thought that having to run 20 mins and end up bright red and sweaty in public was quite enough of an initiation to the stone club!

Well done Minum for going out in the rain!

SparklyPrincess · 16/05/2008 10:23

Oh, meant to ask (sorry, have been trying to type whilst fending off my little crawler - she's wandered off now) ... I'm having some problems with a stiff neck and shoulder - probably from having to carry said baby around! Starting to affect my running (and I'm actually caring that it's going to affect my progress ... wow!), has anyone had this and what did you do?

Sorry if incoherent, baby crawling back now!

Theresa · 16/05/2008 10:30

sorry cant help on that one sparkly. Well done again dita for getting back on the wagon and going out with your neighbour superstar! DD aged 9 off school poorly so am confined to barracks yesterday and today

LadyJogsAlot · 16/05/2008 10:31

well done furball!
come.... join us wheely....

join usssss.....

ahem, i think i stil want to lose another stone. i too am lighter now than i was before i got pg. so bloody great. i am now a 12/14 top and 14 bottom

now i don't really fit my clothes though which is a bum because i don't have money to buy new ones.

would anyone like to pay me to jog for the charity of my wardrobe? i'll take any donations

bramblebooks · 16/05/2008 11:37

Morning ladieeeees

I had to drive out to the countryside to give ds2 his insulin injection as he's on a school trip. Took advantage of that to have a lovely 5k run around the bottom of Beeston Castle, to Peckforton Castle, then back to the visit centre - it was quite hilly, but I did it in 29 mins

Would never have thought I'd been saying 'I had a lovely 5k run' pmsl!!!

But ... omg the stench of the roadkill badger. Running holding my breath!

debbiewebweb · 16/05/2008 22:46

Good Luck Wheelybug. Go girl go. Enjoy the moment, get right to the front, hold your head up and run like the wind. You'll be fab, will be thinking of you.

I too have suffered with hayfever this year more than any other and I wonder whether its got something to do with all that deep breathing out amongst the grass and trees!

Dh's lovely grandmothers funeral is now over with and dd2's chickenpox is just about finished so am going to get back out there this weekend, need a new goal and hope to stick with it.

ditavonteesed · 17/05/2008 09:35

I am going oput again today but I can't decide whther to up my distance or try and up my speed.
Debbie, glad things sound like they are picking up a bit there.
Bramble that does actually siound like a really nice run, hope you get out soon Theresa.
Sparkly, someone else had problems with a shoulder earlier on but I can't rememver who, was to do with being too tense when running I think, I am sure the other will have more advice.
Wheely, good luck

spamm · 17/05/2008 18:39

Well done dita - hope you had a good run.

Wow Bramble, I look forward to saying the same thing one day.

Debbie - hope you get out this w/e. The bleugh weather might help with the hayfever. My dh seems to be doing a bit better today.

I hope to join the 1 stone club (and then the next 4 ) soon, but only early days and am down by about 7lbs. But went out this afternoon before the rain and went further than ever. I really need to sort a route out!

Good luck Wheely!

Wheelybug · 17/05/2008 22:03

Thanks for all your good wishes ! Am off to bed in a mo for an early night. Am feeling most odd - a bit excited, a bit worried (), just don't know what to do with myself and most of all I only had one glass of wine tonight .

Debs - thanks for the tips. Will elbow my way try to get to the front and will remember to 'run like the wind' .

Will have dh, dd, my god daughter, her little sister and dad cheering me on so should hopefully be fun.

Will report back tomorrow .

Furball · 17/05/2008 22:05

good luck wheely!

bramblebooks · 17/05/2008 22:18

All the best Wheely - we're all behind you with oooohms!!

OneLieIn · 17/05/2008 23:45

Hi all - sorry to butt in (and its quite a large one) - but downloaded this and am going to try it tomorrow.

Have you used the Serena Williams interval one - that is very good and my god when she asked me if I looked good, the answer was most definitely no....

Does anyone look better running now than they did when they first started? I get the reddest face and am hoping when I have been running for ages it will disappear, what do you think?

Furball · 18/05/2008 07:04

hate to say this tommy but I started back in january and do 5km 3 or 4 times a week now and still come home extremely bright red

OP posts:
debbiewebweb · 18/05/2008 07:59

Only managed 15 minutes on treadmill yesterday morning and was still bright red... was on a mega hangover though which never helps .
There are many on here who have lost weight though - not me unfortunately but I'm ever hopeful.

Furball · 18/05/2008 08:16

sorry meant oneliein not tommy

wheeeeeeely wheeeeely wheeeeeeeeellllllyyyyy...

do it for rawb

bramblebooks · 18/05/2008 16:20

Hi oneliein - I'm planning to go into hair and makeup before I cross the finishing line for my 10k in 3 weeks!

Waving pompoms for wheely (and rawb)

Wheelybug · 18/05/2008 17:22

Well.... I made it !!

Thanks for the cheers .. I heard them all in Richmond and Brambles your pom pom waving was only surpassed by that of the Nivea Boys () - Debs, did you have those ??

Anyway, was a great day - lots of atmosphere... Great tip of Debs to get to the front. We managed to get right on the front row which was great. I did it in 27 mins and 27 seconds so was quite pleased. it was a bit off putting though as it was essentially round a big field so you could always see where the end was and knew you had to go all the wait out before you had to double back.

I'm not entirely convinced I enjoyed the run tbh - much prefer it pootling off on my own but htink that might be because I'm a bit competitive so didn't like people passing me .

Oh well... got my medal and now waiting to see the official photos online (yikes !). If I don't look too fat red I'll post the link to them for you all to have a good laugh.

oneliein - I too still go red so not really sure when if it goes.

Who's next for the RFL (or other event) then ??

I'm supposed to be signing up for the Cancer Research 10K now... gulp...

Furball · 18/05/2008 17:35

great stuff wheely - you should be very proud of yourself - we are
