For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Dear fabby fruiters.
Just to let you know i am taking a (short?) break from MN for various reasons - mainly because I am using it too much and perhaps neglecting RL people and things. And right now, it is RL people I need (Even though you lot are far more amusing )
See you soon,
Love, light, laughter, lentils and lychees xx

TooTicky · 07/03/2008 11:19

Fmv, we'll miss you!! Hope you come back soon with renewed sparkles.

I am eating pittas with tahini, tomato and oodles of watercress. I do love watercress for its instant zing effect.

lullabyloo · 07/03/2008 11:36

UR thankyou so much for all the suggestions
We do a lot of them, but some great different ones to try too.

Fmv...we'll miss you
take care & come back soon

passionfruit,mango,banana
quinoa

Veg & lentil soup on the stove for lunch

How do I get rid of paint fumes?
I have all the windows open & its blardy freezing

TooTicky · 07/03/2008 12:40

Lully, would bicarbonate of soda help with the paint fumes at all? Perhaps you should go away for the weekend.

TooTicky · 07/03/2008 13:39

Can any fruity experts advise on this thread ?

lullabyloo · 07/03/2008 13:52

I dont know Toot....what would I do with it?

Wish we could go away

lullabyloo · 07/03/2008 13:53

Anyone know how to delete the message box on Scrabulous?
Please

TooTicky · 07/03/2008 16:30

I know bicarb is good for poo/wee/sick sort of smells - I dunno, if you left piles of it sitting about, it might absorb some of the smell - although the smell will still be actively eminating from the paint.
Can't you go away? I hear Wiltshire is pleasant at this time of year
If we had a bigger house you could stay with us.

TooTicky · 07/03/2008 16:31

Sorry, don't know about deleting message boxes.

TooTicky · 07/03/2008 16:57

FrannyandZooey · 07/03/2008 19:16

more later inc news from rat central

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/03/2008 19:44

right rat man came and said it is probably mice
looked everywhere couldn't find where they were getting in, was scouting round the front garden when next door neighbour came out and saw the van and said "oh mice? Oh I saw a mouse in our garden last week..." Pest man said "aHA well can I come and have a look round?"

so he went into their garden which is a wilderness, and err their house is not err exactly pristine inside...

came back and dp said "so do you think they are coming in through from next door?" Pest man said "we-elll.....I don't really like to say.... Have you SEEN their house?"

anyway Greeny still visiting and has heard me calling dp "hun" all the time which was bound to come out at some point

I also bribed her children to get their shoes on with a glow stick. Well sod it, I bet Alfie Kohn has a day off once in a while

pinkspottywellies · 07/03/2008 19:45

Yay Bbb is BBB again!

FrannyandZooey · 07/03/2008 19:46

UnderRated I find myself MNing a lot when I am feeling crap
does it help you?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/03/2008 19:47

I thought of the scuttlewankers there PSW, thought "she has got the wrong clique"!

(ps I have nothing against scuttle people at all, I just found the word scuttlewankers amusing)

OP posts:
UnderRated · 07/03/2008 19:52

Not sure that MNing helps when I feel crap. Sometimes - it can be a good distraction. But when I am feeling really awful, I disappear.

Hope you can sort out your mouse problem - tricky when next door may be the culprit.

I think I call DS 'hun' sometimes. And worse, my mindee is 'Sweetie' but said with an American lilt so it's more like 'sweedy' I think I should use darling more. No-one says it over here.

BBBee · 07/03/2008 20:15

I always think german when I hear 'hun'- is that bad. It is probably awful of me isn;t it. I am quite awful.

PSW - the capitals are completely in your honour - no-one else noticed cared.

F we have had the mice thing. It is horrid then you forget - well you don;t forget you get a cat and the cat gets fleas and then you feel like a twit.

I have a dilemma re: school giften and talented group - had letter saying ds has been put in it and he should join scheme at university. I do think the whole thing is a bit of uptight bollocks but do I rebel or go with the flow!?!!? Is boring and now I have been upgraded from twit to twat.

UnderRated · 07/03/2008 20:39

BBBee, what does DS want to do? I think I'd let him decide. The group could be fun. Or a big pita.

Mice are awful. When my friend was sectioned (the same one I have mentioned previously - not all of my friends have been) and she claimed it was the mice that tipped her over the edge. I have spent many nights wide awake, listening to them scrabling around. It's amazing how much noise such a tiny creature can make. They're not scary as such but very intrusive.

ahundredtimes · 07/03/2008 20:40

Those last two posts didn't sound like Franny you know, I think it's either Greeny OR the mouse. Actually, bet it's the mouse.

BBee your upgrade means nothing around here. I don't know what the G&T means, I mean I do but you know. I reckon you can ignore or go to the university thing because he might think it's a laugh? Someone went didn't they - was it Lionheart?

That's it. I am busy and flying about. I will miss FMV though when I am here. Sob.

ahundredtimes · 07/03/2008 20:42

Though I do have an exhaustive list of fine motor skill tips Lully. Oh yes. But you know your ds is still very little, and you musn't worry too much about it at all. I bet it will come together just dandy - like the riding - and you are doing all the right things.

[bows]

BBBee · 07/03/2008 20:48

I don;t really know what G&T is - what their criteria is. He likes maths and birds but he can't find his bag to get out the house and cna't run fast - I don;t know how they select what is what. He is messy and his work is elligible. In other schools he could be 'school action'.

Best thing is that G&T group have a chess club and DS keeps forgetting to go. I laughed when I told teacher and said "Maybe that should be your crietria - if they can;t remember the group they aren't your target group" and did my quizzical comedy eyebrow and she did a face about me not taking it seriously.

Worse thing is that I know it is bollocks but more involved parents whose children arent; selected will get all when they get wind and I will have to be all not smug and dismissive and they will hate me.

Most G&T bloke I knew worked in a computer lab in a univeristy adn would only go in at night as he didn;t like "other people". Not keen on G&T thing.

FrannyandZooey · 07/03/2008 20:59

Ah well tell us if you need distracting or something more UnderRated

100 it was me! did it really not sound like me or were you teasing? a bit of Greeny may have rubbed off on me I expect, perhaps we are merging

Bee I would try it and see what you think
if ds thinks it fun then why not?
