For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

DS1 says your shiny Jigglythingy is okaaay Franny and it does have amazing stats but his Blastoise could knock it out sky high. Would you two like to have a chat one day maybe? And yes, re forward management. I know.

All these lovely people. Hope the orange cauliflower and nectarines do you some good Anorak.

Good luck tonight MrsC.

And FMF you're going to keep that boat aren't you? This is sounding like me and a puppy, where you say, we don't want that and then before you know it, it has a name and everything!

Greensleeves · 19/02/2008 17:18

Am I one of the lovely people? [needy]

ahundredtimes · 19/02/2008 17:18

Oh and Franny, what an epic social day! One minute you are paranoid the next minute you've hosted a mini event. I take my hat off to you.

ahundredtimes · 19/02/2008 17:19

You are lovely. You are especially lovely because you have a pineapple upside down cake about your person. [greedy]

Greensleeves · 19/02/2008 17:20

it's a really nice big crumbly squidgy one too, with crispy brown sugar on the non-pineapply end

we are going to have it with homemade buttery vanilla ice cream

filthymindedvixen · 19/02/2008 17:23

and me..and meeeeee! Am I lovely???

(I spend all day being carey to needy people so I'd like to be needy please!!)

Boco · 19/02/2008 17:25

What about me? I want to be lovely too. I was very good in my felting class today and didn't get told off once. [can top everyone else's needyness in one sentence]

Boco · 19/02/2008 17:26

And I need to be called lovely today to counteract DERANGED and DESPERATE!. please

ahundredtimes · 19/02/2008 17:28

FMV you are very lovely, yes.

ahundredtimes · 19/02/2008 17:30

Why am I in charge of handing out lovely badges? I am unworthy having been especially unlovely this morning. I am not lovely - perhaps that's why I am allowed to recognize and admire loveliness in others?

When I went to pick up ds's and dd from different houses - there were ironing boards out in both houses and both houses were impeccably clean. I was rather astonished. I dread to think what they think of my house. Everythng was shining and lots of carpets and clean smells.

ahundredtimes · 19/02/2008 17:31

[ignores Boco]

No. You are a lovely person too. A lovely person with an exhibition and hopefully a paint -splattered smock.

This is exhausting.

lionheart · 19/02/2008 17:34

There's something to be said for deranged.

Greensleeves · 19/02/2008 17:34

Probably because they knew you were coming 100x - I bet their cupboards were bursting with filthy plates and minging clothes

MrsCarrot · 19/02/2008 17:36

well, I don't want a lovely badge. I am feeling cross and not like running but I ought to go and I am having such a gargantuan period I feel like my innards will just fall over the pavement and DH is in a grump and so are the dcs and did I say I was grumpy?

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 17:36

oh FINE I go off to slave over pizza and you all host a love in

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 17:39

No it didn't freak me out eating orange cauliflower. I just had some leftover on toast for lunch - mmm sprouted seed bread. It just looks like there are bits of orange cheese in the sauce.

We get purple carrots here too - haven't tried them yet. And loads of different types of squash. We tried spaghetti squash last week - didn't like it much really as quite tasteless but good for novelty value when you cook it and it all goes into long strands.

Feeling tired but relatively ok. (Chemo last week and next week) But upset as my hair is falling out and within a couple of days I will be completely bald

MrsCarrot · 19/02/2008 17:57

oh, anorak, sorry to hear that, it must be very stressful and upsetting. Hope you get lots of rest and can do some nice things to cheer you up when you have more energy.

filthymindedvixen · 19/02/2008 18:01

artichoke on pizza? [vom]
My mum used to make pizza back in the 70s. They had a pastry base, with tomato puree smeared on and then topped with whatever she had in the fridge - cooked mushrooms, runner beans, a tomato. A herring. Kum Quat. Pineapple. Leeks.
They were gruesome. I was 14 before I realised how utterly fantatsic pizza is....

today I have had blueberries, raspberries and home made soup with spinach, leeks, onion and carrot in.
Supper is tomato sausage and three bean casserole with other stuff in. Pas mal de tout!

100, yes yes, they may be super efficient, houseproud, unwrinkled and clean. But are they happy?

MrsCarrot · 19/02/2008 18:13

I love artichoke on pizza. Which is the pizza express one with artichoke, cappriciosa maybe? I like that one anyway.

right...

Must go for a fast walk at least. I might jog a little.

UnderRated · 19/02/2008 18:16

Franny's afternoon sounds fun. We went to music this morning. One of the Dads is a Grammy award winning Jazz musician.

Good to see you, Anorak. I had no idea that cauliflowers same in so many colours.

FMV, the Boatman song is the one that's going round and round and round and round in my head. Where is your boat and what do you do with it? I will certainly investigate further when (if?) I return to the UK. I think it is one of my silly fantasies, but it does seem very appealing atm.

Carrot cake is very tempting. at Greensleeves cooking. I LOVE artichoke hearts on pizza. With capers. Yum.

F&V quite appalling. DS had some peas but there weren't enough for me to have some too so I finished the hummus instead.
