Turn around stir fries, every now and then I feel a part (of a mango)

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

100 thanks for positive comments, I feel 100% happier about those social things I was worried about earlier in the week. I just feel a responsibility to provide ds with the right people to make friends with, as he won't be going to school and the two boys he was close with at nursery have left for school now. He desperately would like the friendship of another boy his age or older, but all my friends have girls, and the older boys usually seem SO much older once they have started school. Their interests and style of play usually changes really noticeably and ds seems quite babyish to them possibly.

However he got on very well with the 2 home ed children who were here today, we're invited to a birthday party next month at their house, and their mum offered to take us both to home ed events if we want, and take ds on his own once the baby is born. It was a really positive afternoon.

A few times when I have made overtures towards people with boys the same age, I haven't had a very enthusiastic response, and I was left feeling that perhaps ds and I were both unlikeable. I have also not pursued other friendships as much as I could, with adults who I like and who like me, because their children are younger, and ds spends huge amounts of his time with younger children. Possibly this was a mistake...I do tend to swing from one extreme to the other, thinking things are a disaster or a grand success, so am sorry there has been a lot of me penduluming about this week.

Artichoke or palm hearts on pizza are great. Very South of France.

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 18:30

they were delicious
they were those piquant ones in oil that are quite vinegary or something? mouthwatering, and with the salt of the cheese...

Am glad you are feeling happier about DS, Franny.

My house is a mess and I should tidy it but all I seem to do is move junk from one place to another. I used to be such a neat freak and just can't keep up anymore. And to think, I arrived in this country with 2 suitcases. Now I have an apartment full of crap. I need to be ruthless but it's so hard. I fear I am turning into a hoarder.

I want pizza now.

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 18:38

FrayedKnot · 19/02/2008 18:48

Did I just type kisses?

Boco · 19/02/2008 18:49

(((you did)))

UnderRated · 19/02/2008 18:49

You'll ruin your keyboard, you know Franny! But much appreciated

Boco · 19/02/2008 18:51

UR I think that you're transformed by your new name, you sound so much more up beat as UR rather than OR.

Anorak sorry about chemo sickness and hairloss, what a horrible time. Lots of love.

UnderRated · 19/02/2008 18:51

Oh, are we a huggy kissy thread now?

UnderRated · 19/02/2008 18:53

DO I really sound better? Actually, I have been feeling much brighter over the past couple of days. I wonder if my old name was having an effect on me in RL too.

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 18:55

yes UnderRated is fabulous
we are all underrated IMO

Well Franny, the HE family sound like a find, and they will lead to others and then others and then you'll have more people than you ever wanted!

I also think sometimes it's hard to find the right child - whether you are in or out of school. I've always been amazed at the amount of boys who have come here and ds has said 'Do you want pack a bag and we'll climb a mountain' and they've looked blank and said 'Eh?'

ahundredtimes · 19/02/2008 19:13

And I so much prefer UR too.

littlerach · 19/02/2008 19:25

Mrs C I hope you get the support you need tomorrow.

F&Z, it was a mumsnet Dyson thing, and I was Chosen. So I ahve a new dysonm now. (still in the box)

FMV, no cod went yesterday. I briefly considered changing the day, but felt I would appear tobe a mad stalker type.

Veg curry fr tea, but the aubergines ahdn't really cooked enough so weren't very nice. But the peppers and courgettes were divine.

UnderRated · 19/02/2008 19:34

I miss my Dyson. But I have a lovely sparkly bright green hoover instead so, whilst it doesn't clean anything, it looks pretty in the cupboard.

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 19:45

am ringing doula shortly
any last minute advice on this weird problem appreciated

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2008 20:17

Zippi says we are not to worry about her and thanks for everyone's support, especially Underrated

OP posts:
UnderRated · 19/02/2008 20:37

Zippi is very silly - I really haven't done anything. In fact, I fear I added to her distress by dumping my problems on her last week. She was very understanding at a time when I felt like I was about to lose it completely. She is quite lovely and very wise.

Have you spoken to the Doula, Franny? I read the thread but wasn't sure what to say.

yes I have sorted it with the doula, she was very kind about it although I still feel embarrassed about the whole thing

UR we all need a good dump from time to time. Oh dear I could perhaps have phrased that more delicately.
