For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Your. . your. . .word. . . .for you or me FK?

[horror and shame]

It's not me you know. It is Anne. She is bossy and tyrannical, I am gourmet and messy.

littlerach · 17/02/2008 20:05

Please - a carrot cake recipe that tastes goods

Boco · 17/02/2008 20:06

FK doesn't mean you silly! She means herself, although I'm sure she's not at all like that either.

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 20:06

I like UnderRated.

We have candles at dinner usually. Not anything fancy, maybe a tea light in a glass pot or even on its own, I like the ritual of it, and the flicker. Bistro sounds fun.

I had an enormous chicken and vegetable stir-fry with no noodles or rice as I ate so much toast earlier and all I keep thinking about is a plate of veg with no rice. Its hardly deprivation is it but I keep checking out the cupboards as I walk past.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:07

LOL 100, FK meant herself not YOU
that was an uncharacteristic paranoid moment

Boco · 17/02/2008 20:08

My word for you 100 would be numpty.

Not really.

It would be something nice - but one word isn't enough is it, would have be be an amalgamation, like 'practicapablunny'

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 20:09

Snort!

Sorry 100!

I meant meeeeeeeeee

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 20:09

didn't everyone describe others in two words here once?

UnderRated · 17/02/2008 20:10

Yes, I think OverRated was making me a bit depressed actually!

Nigella's carrotcake cupcake recipe is ok - do you want me to type it up? I had a great recipe but it's somewhere in a box in England.

Boco · 17/02/2008 20:10

Yes, I remember that MrsC, was good.

Am still snorting at the though of FK suddenly becoming incredibly rude and calling 100 tyrannical.

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 20:11

Phew.

She is worryingly silent. God, it would be awful if she meant me though wouldn't it?

I am paranoid. It was a edgy business. DS2 took a long time, and he stared at me and kept smiling to himself, and I glared at him and eventually he said 'Warm'. I'm telling you, it was nerve-wracking.

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 20:11

And I am ashamed to say that particulalry under my own roof, I am

Eldest child and all that

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 20:12

Oh no she has spoken.

LOL.

thank god.

No we mustn't play that game MrsC. I couldn't stand it again this evening.

Boco · 17/02/2008 20:12

I'm an eldest child, I'm not tyrannical. I could probably do with a little more tyranny and a little less anarchy though.

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 20:12

I don;t think we better had play, no

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 20:12

I was away then, but I remember skim reading it, have forgotten what everyone was though.

Ur - I have to disagree and say those cupcakes are quite disappointing, far too light and dry for my liking.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:13

UnderRated is v good, it also abbreviates better as I always thought it looked we were saying OR, as in the word or

Overrun is a fab 10 / 10er who was with us way way back in the dark ages, wasn't she Avi? When we just banged stones together to communicate with each other. She moved house, lost her pc connection and half dropped off the face of MN so it is lovely when she comes back for a bit

that has reminded me of two things

one a joke one of the teenage girls made up today: what is a chicken's favourite way to communicate with its peers? MS-Hen

ROFL

and

I was on the phone last night to sensible business person, doing my best phone voice with no sloppy Essex accent and trying to use posh diction and everything

and I said "I found your number on the interweb"

aaaaargh
spent the nest 5 minutes not listening to a word she said, just thinking "oh god I said INTERWEB, oh god, shall I say "sorry about that, when I said interweb" or shall I leave it, oh GOD" etc etc

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:15

ooh I saw Juno
it is very good yes indeed

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 20:15

lol at interweb popping out just when you wish to sound least provincial

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 20:15

I want to see Juno

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:16

I have eaten stuff as well

erm mange tout, baby corn, carrots
not v good is it, but I did have major fruity breakfast. Will have more fruit in a minute

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:17

it's v good MrsC
really v good indeed

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 20:20

I think I may have got the the 10/10 today you know. Because normally I might only get one side of the 10, well not normally but you know what I mean.

But actually I have done the other 10 because of all the dog walking. TWO walks today.

And [ahem]

Raisins (in porridge, is that allowed?], orange juice, fennel, beans, carrots, celery, tomatoes, courgettes (in soup), and tonight roasted pots, carrots, broccoli, celery and cauliflower with supper.

Come on. That's got to be 10/10 for the first time EVER.

[10/10 GOURMET emoticon]

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 20:20

Oh I'm pleased you liked Juno F&Z. I wanted you to like it. It has gone rather HUGE since I saw it hasn't it?

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 20:22

And I had this delicious Rhubarb yoghurt too.

God it's the exercise and fresh air. I'm hungry. I didn't used to be hungry when I sit inside drinking coffee and eating Brie.
